Chapter 92: I Am

Cynthia fell from mid-air and immediately observed the lion's position.

When the bloody basin's big mouth rushed towards her, she exerted herself to throw the copper arrow into its wide-open mouth, regardless of whether the arrow had hurt it or not. She quickly dodged to the side and rolled safely to the ground, then immediately went to pick up the whip that had fallen under the tree, glancing at the bow and arrow which were already broken in two.

Her knees and both hands were burning with pain, Cynthia bit her lip tightly, grasping the whip to look at the lion that was only a foot away, its tongue pierced by her copper arrow.

Angela, who had been hiding in the dark and thinking of saving people, suddenly stopped moving, and her tense and uneasy emotions gradually turned into interest.

In her view, this lesson could be extended for a while longer, as long as she made sure that annoying pet was still alive.

The lion in front of Cynthia had already gotten the copper arrow on its tongue down, it was thoroughly irritated by her and let out a roar as it charged at her with all four limbs.

A lion several times stronger than myself, the visual impact is terrifying.

Cynthia could only rely on her instincts to dodge to the side, but her speed and strength were no match for an enraged male lion.

She slammed to the ground, and the whip in her hand swung back immediately, fiercely lashing the lion's face.

She was knocked back several paces by the lash, and Cynthia scrambled to her feet, hunched over, her pants torn at the knee, dirt mixed with the rolled-up flesh, every move hurt.

Cynthia panted, staring fixedly at the male lion in front of her.

Without Kayrus, she knew crying was useless.

It had completely lost its patience and once again pounced on her.

With the experience of the previous time, Cynthia easily dodged with the whip in her hand, but her physical strength was being rapidly consumed, and her overly weak body made her hand holding the whip tremble.

  It's almost at the limit.

  She has no time left.

Staring at the male lion's mouth, she took a deep breath and grasped both ends of the whip with her hands. As the male lion attacked again, she was heavily knocked against the tree, its mouth mere centimeters away, blocked by the whip in her hand.

Cynthia gritted her teeth, swiftly turned sideways, and leaped onto its back, the whip that had been stuck in the male lion's mouth also slid down to its neck.

She crawled onto its back, shaking her hands with all her might.

But she overestimated her 16-year-old body and underestimated the explosive force of a grown male lion.

It violently shook off Cynthia on its back, no different from a brave warrior being thrown off in a bull riding competition.

She heavily fell into the black soil, her body pressing down a patch of ferns.

Cynthia's vision went black, her ears buzzed, and her chest felt like it was pressed down by a thousand pounds of stone, making it impossible for her to get back up from the ground.

As she watched the lion charge at her again, she suddenly felt a little like crying.

She has really tried her best, but still wants to live on, she still has a lot of money that hasn't been spent yet, and life has just begun.

Angela, who was watching from a distance, knew that she couldn't really play with people's lives. She had just drawn the bow and arrow in her hand, ready to shoot the male lion, when something strange happened.

The lion's mouth was frozen in front of Cynthia, its body suddenly enveloped by a thick black fog, only vaguely visible that its head was being held by a beautiful hand with ease, pierced by a copper arrow.

A massive body heavily fell out of the dark fog, twitched a few times, and then there was no more movement.

In the dark forest without sunlight, Cynthia's facial color was close to pale, gazing at the sky divided by leaves, her eyes filled with a sense of desperation and confusion after a disaster.

Until a figure blocked his view from above, he squatted down and gently stroked her face with his snow-white hand.

"Cynthia." His voice was soft and warm, in stark contrast to the fierce red eyes that burned with anxiety.

"Kayus." Cynthia called out his name, her brow furrowed in pain.

A warm divine light enveloped all her wounds in an instant, and the piercing light blurred those red eyes.

Although they were just some scratches, the wounds on Cynthia's body made Caius feel extremely angry, his breath was cold and fierce, a pair of ferocious eyes turned around, and he raised one hand.

In a daze, Cynthia seemed to hear the sound of something crashing out of the bushes, accompanied by a sharp and urgent cry.

  "Kairos."

She stretched out her hand somewhat anxiously, and a warm palm grasped it firmly, accompanied by a deep response, "I'm here."

She left from the dirty muddy ground, without despising her body full of stains, he held her in his arms.

Cynthia was powerless all over, and only caught a glimpse of the giant male lion with its head pierced through, and a feeling of fear suddenly surged up.

She almost collapsed and buried her head in his chest, wanting to hide herself in.

In a place where Cynthia couldn't see, Kyrios's gaze was cold and ferocious. Not far in front of him, Angela crawled on the ground, her hands neatly cut off, blood flowing non-stop, and the air was mixed with a pungent bloody smell.

"Xīn xī yà." He patted her back gently, his warm and proud voice in her ear, "You almost killed a lion, well done."

She curled up in his arms, her hands tightly grasping the collar of his shirt, and the faint scent of mint and the familiar tone gradually brought back her sanity.

"I got lost here and also lost two horses."

"That's not your fault." His tone suddenly became somewhat stern, "There are always people who don't follow the rules."

She flinched slightly, and Caius realized his tone had frightened her. He softened his voice, "You'll be fine."

He activated the transmission array and took her directly back to the house. The bathtub in the bathroom was automatically filled with hot water.

Kairos kicked open the door and set her down on the edge of the bathtub.

The wound on Cynthia's body had completely disappeared. He placed his hands on both sides of the bathtub and ordered in a low voice, "Take a bath first."

She raised her head and bit her lip, "Are you just outside?"

Although his tone had turned into a stern command, Kael's eyes were an unusual softness, "You can still get one more gift."

"Almost killed by a lion?" She blinked, tears pressing her eyelashes into her eyes, Cynthia uncomfortably rubbed her hands together.

  "Uh-huh."

Caius stood up straight and was about to leave, when Cynthia said softly as he reached the door, "If you had come a moment later, I would have been an ugly corpse."

Kairos's back stiffened, his face suddenly tightened, his eyes gleaming with ferocity, gritting his teeth, "So she needs to pay the price."

"He turned back, with an unshakeable tone, 'No one can kill you except me, even if you die, I will bring you back.'"

  Update is here~
