Chapter 24: It may be hard to believe, but I feel safest when Im by your side.

Caius looked around the house he called a warehouse and suddenly said: "I am not poor."

"I know, but it's too late now, we won't make it even if we go to buy it." Cynthia quickly picked up the conversation, and couldn't help but think of rolling her eyes inwardly. What a pain in the neck! Can't they just send someone to deliver it?!

It seemed that Kael also realized his own sharp behavior was over the line, and his gaze returned to the onion pie and pickled meat on the table.

He spread out his palm, a sheepskin scroll and a feather pen appeared out of thin air, and he threw the things on the table.

  "Write down what you need."

Cynthia happily accepted the quill pen and parchment, sat down on the stool beside him, and began to write with a scratching sound.

For where she will live in the future, it must be fully equipped.

From clothes and towels to beds, Cynthia wrote everything down, almost filling the entire sheepskin scroll before she finally stopped.

Just as she was about to hand over the sheepskin scroll to Kael, she found that he had picked up an onion pancake from the plate and elegantly sent it into his mouth.

  Divine Light Progress: 10%

Was she able to successfully send warmth into Kairus' heart?

Cynthia couldn't help but say: "The food at the Donovan's tastes ordinary, and the cured meat might be a bit salty, barely enough to fill our stomachs."

"Not even a rat would eat this." Kael spat out the onion cake he had just taken a bite of, his tone vicious.

Cynthia didn't refute him either, and handed over the rolled-up sheepskin paper in her hand. "Take a look, you can make up for what's missing."

Caius had no interest in the scroll that was handed to him, and the quill pen and scroll flew into mid-air and disappeared.

Anthony, who had just finished tidying up his room, received the message. He looked at the elegant handwriting on the sheepskin scroll, which was obviously written by a woman.

He furrowed his brow, "What is Your Excellency indulging this princess in? Emptying a warehouse?"

It's already very late, Cynthia looked at Kairus who was sitting there and starting to space out again, and couldn't help but say: "Are you leaving tonight too?"

"Antony is coming too late." He frowned and said a sentence.

"Ah..." Cynthia twirled a strand of golden hair around her finger, saying with embarrassment: "It's just that I wanted more things."

Caius suddenly glanced at the wooden window, his eyes turned cold and he stood up to go out. Cynthia saw this and grabbed his sleeve, "Mr. Caius, where are you going?"

Fear gathered again in her eyes, and it seemed that she preferred the company of an executioner who was going to kill her over being alone with a person safely.

Caius leaned in, his voice tinged with impatience. "I smell the scent of blood; he's too close."

"Do you want to go out and take a look?" Cynthia stood up close behind him, her hand tightly grasping his sleeve. "I'll go with you, I also heard someone wailing outside just now."

"The night is mine to give to the vampires," Caius said.

"I know," Cynthia said, lowering her head. "It may be hard to believe, but I feel safest when I'm with you."

Kai'er lowered her eyes and immediately loosened her grip on him with a strong will.

He didn't stop Cynthia from leaving, and the two of them walked down the wooden stairs.

Out of the endless black night, I went out the door.

The stone buildings of Taimorya were bathed in the cold light of the moon, and the night air was chilly. Cynthia rubbed her arms as she stepped out, knowing she had to figure out if that call in the afternoon was just her imagination.

I always felt that the scream from a while ago was also intentionally directed at her.

Caius went around to the back of the house, where there was a window that led to Cynthia's room, and from which a faint candlelight spilled out through the cracks.

The clouds parted, and under the silver moonlight, a blood-soaked corpse was dumped here, with several bloody handprints leading straight to Cynthia's window.

  "Is it Lays?" Cynthia guessed.

"No." Kael's gaze snapped back, his scarlet eyes glowing with an unnatural light in the darkness, filled with a deep malevolence, "A newly turned vampire, reeking of rot."

"It's coming for me." Cynthia looked at the handprint on the wall and shuddered, "Isn't it said that vampires aren't allowed to enter a house to kill?"

"It's obvious that this newcomer doesn't understand the rules I've set. Kael's lips, pursed into a straight line, suddenly curved up into an extremely cold smile. "Vampires who make mistakes must accept punishment."

"Do you know who it is?" Cynthia asked.

Caius: "No need to know, he will come again."

In fact, Cynthia had probably guessed who it was. The voice full of hatred in the afternoon was indeed from Curtis, and there would be no other vampire who wanted to kill her besides him.

That damned marquis has been transformed into a vampire.

  What about Joyce?

  He won't be alive either!

Cynthia thought of this possibility and followed Kael's pace back, calling out softly, "Mr. Kael."

"Hmm." He snorted coldly from his nose.

"Do you still want me to go and visit your execution ground?" Cynthia brought it up herself.

This made Kael stop in his tracks, a strange smile spreading across his face as he asked, "You changed your mind?"

"Hmm." Cynthia bit her lip, "After we go to the execution ground, can you take me to where I had that accident last time?"

Perhaps it was her willingness to go and see his masterpiece that lifted Caius's mood, for he agreed to this not unreasonable request.

The two of them went back upstairs but didn't enter the house.

Anthony has arrived and for convenience of work, he and a group of black birds threw all the rubbish directly out of the window, emptying the entire room.

Cynthia watched as her room lit up with a huge teleportation array, inside which constantly appeared brand new luxurious silk four-poster beds, bedside tables, round tables, curtains...

Almost everything was chosen according to the two days she lived in the palace before, and now these luxurious furniture decorations look a bit extravagant in this house.

Antony and the black birds stopped what they were doing and bowed to Kael, "Lord Kael, it's almost done."

Caius looked at Cynthia with a flash of light in her eyes, his lips moved, but ultimately said nothing.

He acquiesced in her moving the whole imperial palace into this warehouse.

Cynthia originally thought Kael would get angry, but unexpectedly, he didn't react at all.

The corners of her mouth curved up a bit more, and the gloom that was intimidated by the vampire dispersed a lot.

In the newly renovated room, the dining table had been transformed into a retro-style round table and was set with new gas lamps and some food.
