Chapter 34: Hang their corpses upside down on the city walls to enjoy the sunshine.

  "Hiss."

The pain on her back made Cynthia cry out, her long hair disheveled and scattered behind her, the blood seeping from her knee stained the beige nightgown red.

Curtis took a deep breath of the fragrant air, licked his teeth and suppressed it, speaking in a cold tone: "Long time no see, Lady Cynthia."

He walked up to Cynthia, who had fallen into the haystack like a withered white flower, and grasped her neck with his icy, temperature-less hand, lifting her entire body out of the haystack and pinning her against the pillar of the stable.

"You look like you're doing great, and there's a new man accompanying you."

Curtis's tone was icy and menacing, his eyes telling Cynthia with no reservation that she wouldn't make it through the night.

Around the stable, there were also vampires attracted by her blood scent, all of them lurking in the dark, waiting for an opportunity to pounce on Cynthia and suck her dry.

"Don't you know the law of Tamoria?" Cynthia struggled to get out a whole sentence, then spoke in fits and starts: "You broke into my home... He won't let you off."

  "Just a human being."

"Because of your intoxicating scent, Curtis's eyes grew even redder with a hint of greed. 'You've brought me to this state! You've made me lose Minnie Ann's love! I'll drain every last drop of your blood and throw you into the Border River - it's the last thing I'll do for her!'"

Cynthia was choked with words and couldn't say anything anymore.

In fact, she already had symptoms of hypoxia and her head started to spin.

Her eyes began to glaze over, and Curtis's mad taunts still echoed in her ears, "Aren't you the self-proclaimed most gifted saint of Rhedania? Where is your divine magic? You're a woman abandoned by even God!"

If she were the master, she would have cut off his head without hesitation, unfortunately she was weak like an ant.

Cynthia closed her eyes and thought more and more vaguely, if she died here, she could really go home.

Curtis could no longer bear the hatred and instinct, he opened his mouth, a row of sharp teeth exposed, aimed at Cynthia's neck and was about to bite down.

But his teeth stopped just as they were about to pierce her skin.

Curtis still maintained his grip on Cynthia's wrist, but his gaze stiffened and slowly dropped down.

A hand had passed directly through his back and into his chest, grasping the heart that no longer beat.

Curtis didn't even have a chance to turn his head and see who it was, his entire heart had been ripped out by that big hand.

Caius grasped the filthy vampire heart, his sharp tone filled with cruelty and hatred. "No one can violate the laws I have set down, all who break the law will be punished."

Deprived of Curtis's support, Cynthia tumbled back into the hay pile.

She lay there seemingly lifeless, her blood staining the pile of grass behind her back.

Kairos stared at this scene, and a nameless fire rushed to his head.

Wherever his scarlet gaze fell, all vampires fled in terror, but none escaped.

Caius crushed Curtis's useless heart, personally bent down to pick up Cynthia from the grass pile, ignoring the dirty leaves on her body, and walked out with a strong hug.

Outside the stable, several miserable cries belonging to vampires echoed.

They fled through the streets and alleys at incredible speed, but could not escape the curse of a single glance from the Dark God.

He slaughtered all nearby vampires, killing them off completely.

However, this still did not calm his anger.

This is all his Kaisar's property, they are breaking the rules!

"Antony, hang their corpses upside down on the city walls to enjoy the sunshine." Gaius said viciously into the air.

He brought Cynthia back to the 'warehouse' in an instant, shrouded in dark fog.

Dorne and Dord had originally heard the cry for help, and were now in Cynthia's room discussing what to do about it.

Watching Kyrios bring back Cynthia who was unconscious and heavily injured, both of them were stunned for a moment, then hurriedly paid their respects. Duo En said with his head hung down:

"Miss Cynthia's house seems to have been invaded by a vampire, we heard her cry for help, so we came to take a look."

Todd lowered his head and said: "Since she returned safely, Lord Kayus, I wish you a pleasant night."

He pulled Duoen out of the house just as the door automatically closed behind them with a loud bang.

Caius gently laid Cynthia on the bed.

He lifted up her skirt that covered her knees, and her legs as white as jade were scraped raw in a big patch at the knee.

The stark contrast between white and crimson was enough to shatter Kael's gentle nature in an instant.

His gaze turned icy cold, and the darkness deep within his pupils almost materialized into a tangible ink that seemed to flow out of his red eyes.

He suddenly felt that vampires were a redundant and troublesome race.

Caius's face sank as he stretched out his hand, covering the palm of his hand over Cynthia's knee, and the holy light was repairing the wound there.

Cynthia, who had been knocked unconscious, awoke due to the itching sensation caused by her healing.

The line of sight is a dull yellow black spot, like scrambled pixels swirling in front of the eyes.

Her blue eyes stared at the ceiling for a while before she finally realized that she hadn't died yet.

The pain from the wound was gradually telling her brain that she was still alive and well, just injured.

Cynthia's eyeballs finally started rolling, and her line of sight shifted from the wooden board above to beside her.

Caius sat on the edge of the bed, his god-like face wearing a visible scowl.

His hands moved away from her knees and turned his face, the crimson eyes just looked at the awakened Cynthia.

She tried to open her mouth to say something, but her throat was too sore, she couldn't say anything, and could only express how wronged she felt with her reddened eyes.

Cynthia pushed against the bed board, trying to sit up in bed, but she forgot that there were still wounds on her back. She only slightly strained the muscles in her back, and the pain almost made her faint again.

Cynthia was certain that the clothes behind must have been stuck together with the wound.

"Don't move." Kael's swift and unfriendly words were spat out as his hand, withdrawn from her knee, pressed down on her shoulder.

Cynthia bit her bloodless lips, and tears fell from the corners of her eyes again. She raised her hand in distress and grabbed the arm that was stretched out in front of her, and with great effort, she managed to squeeze out a few words from her throat, "It hurts so much."

Caius didn't let go of her hand, instead irritably wiping away the tears at the corners of her eyes. "He's already dead."

"He added seriously and cruelly, 'You will see him at sunrise tomorrow.'"
