Cynthia certainly knew who he was referring to, but still wanted to hear him confirm it in person.
"She asked in a hoarse voice, 'Did you kill Curtis?'"
Kairos glared at her with an unspoken irritation, "Don't question me, see it for yourself."
Cynthia couldn't help but twitch her mouth and then pinched his knuckles to express gratitude.
She barely survived and a piece of rock that was pressing on her chest also fell off.
This threat has finally been eliminated.
"Endure it." Kael said briefly, he turned her over and after seeing the wound, his face suddenly tightened.
Feeling her shoulder blades were about to be crushed by him, Cynthia couldn't help but start moaning hoarsely, "Kaius! I'm going to be pinched to death..."
He struggled to restrain his strength, and the snow-white hand that had been pressing on her back began to relax, finally falling onto the belt at her waist.
"Take off your clothes."
Caius's voice carried an unyielding determination that was impossible to resist.
Cynthia thought for only two seconds before wrapping her hands around his back and holding his hand, "Wait..."
She struggled to prop herself up, despite the pain making her tremble all over. She inched her way onto Kael's thigh, until half of her upper body was lying on his knee. She swept all her hair back to her nape and let it hang down towards the ground before saying softly: "I'm scared of the pain..."
Cynthia gripped the tailored grey trousers on his leg tightly, trying to wrinkle them, she didn't dare look up at Kael's expression, and only muttered in a low voice: "Okay."
This nearly insulting action caused Kael to stiffen for a moment, sitting on the edge of the bed with his head bowed, subconsciously wanting to retort, but the words were squeezed to the tip of his lips and then swallowed back by him gritting his teeth.
He fell silent, staring at the torn flesh and dirty leaves mixed together, slowed down his movements, and tore open her back clothes.
Divine Light Progress: 15%
Cynthia let out a pained cry as a new progress bar appeared before her dizzy eyes.
And it went up three points at once, which surprised her.
Is it saying... the more she's hurt, the faster this progress bar rises? Don't be so abnormal...
Cynthia looked at Kael with a suspicious sidelong glance, but his attention was no longer on her face. His eyes, rolling with turbulent emotions, stared unblinkingly at her back.
It made her feel like there was already a big hole there, so she had to use such a serious and complicated expression.
Without giving her much time to think, the leaves stuck on her back were all removed by Kael, and for a moment she clutched his pant legs in pain, humming out loud.
Caius frowned and said coldly, "What did you go to Kreebie Street for?"
He was trying to divert her attention, Cynthia thought subconsciously and replied weakly, "Yeah, I want to take a walk, I think I'll get familiar with this place."
"Convenient for escape." Kael's icy voice rose again with a surge of irritation, then was deliberately suppressed by him in an attempt to become indifferent.
"I want to go find you." Cynthia replied with a pout.
She let out another muffled hum, and the healing skin on her back started to itch terribly. The itching made her want to reach back and scratch immediately, but she still managed to hold it in and tried to make conversation with Kael for herself, "Why did you disappear for two days, were you busy with something?"
The atmosphere in the air was oppressive, and Kael remained silent for a while before responding to her in a calm voice, "Mm."
Cynthia let out a sigh of relief, and with a thick tone of gratitude, she said:
"My value in your eyes is now only as a bait to lure brother, I'm afraid you don't need me anymore."
Cynthia could obviously feel Caius's body stiffen again, his thighs under her tensing up straight, and she could even feel the solid muscles on top of them shift.
"Do you need me?" He spat out the words with great puzzlement, his gaze almost piercing through Cynthia's occipital bone, and then sneered: "Does a believer in light need a dark god?"
They seem to have discussed this topic more than once.
"I've been abandoned." Cynthia said matter-of-factly, still gazing at the buttons on his shirt. "You're the only one left, aren't you?"
Her voice was fatally soft.
Caius never thought a sentence would thoroughly disturb his heart.
But he had to admit that Cynthia became a threat that he must eliminate but couldn't bring himself to do so.
The thought that her death would make him regret it had been haunting him for two days, tormenting him with anger.
The wound on her back had healed completely, but Cynthia still didn't get an answer. She was disappointed, but she hadn't expected to get a response from him anyway.
As she pushed herself up from Caius' leg, she felt her cheek close to his side, warm breath accompanying a promise, "I permit you to live in Tamriel, under the name of my own possessions."
Kairos reached out and wiped away the shallow, ugly tooth marks on her neck.
This made Cynthia's body stiffen, she had one hand propping up his thigh and the other covering her chest, barely holding onto her clothes, and looked up at him in shock.
Being stared at by her with such unbelievable eyes, Kael felt very uncomfortable and even a bit embarrassed. He suddenly pushed the person onto the soft mattress and quickly spat out a few words, "You should go to sleep."
Cynthia leaned back on the bed, with a stifled expression that was trying to laugh but didn't dare to, "This means you won't suddenly disappear, right?"
"You have no right to pry into my whereabouts." He replied angrily, as if covering up his own embarrassment.
"I didn't mean it." Cynthia snuggled herself into the blanket and said softly: "I'm just afraid you'll be gone."
Kairos's blood-red eyes turned over, and the iris color was almost invisible. The pupils trembled slightly, and he resumed that proud look, "I will stay here until Loka arrives, nothing more."
This is said for Cynthia's sake, or perhaps it is also said for her own sake.
Caius couldn't deny his interest in her and became curious about how much influence this abandoned saint would bring to him.
No one could truly affect him; Caius hid in the dim light of the candles, changing his expression and grinding his teeth.
The shattered window let in cold wind, Tamoria's midnight was always filled with chill, and the wind touching the skin felt like a knife cut.
Cynthia didn't want to take a bath either, so she shrank into the quilt with only her eyes exposed, staring at Kael who had already sat down on the stool.
