The rooftop boxing ring is about half the size of a basketball court. As many desperate miners had jumped to their deaths from there, causing quite some trouble, iron bars have long been installed. So on a hot summer night, not a single ray of cool moonlight shines in, making it feel especially stifling.
The crystal chandelier cast a faintly yellowish light, making the dirty walls covered with bloodstains and scratches appear even more ghastly pale, like the skeleton of a traveler who died of thirst in the desert.
A group of bare-chested thugs surrounded a makeshift boxing ring, cheering on and cursing for the miners they supported.
Kesi's four limbs touched the ground, like a dog crouching on the ground, with a face full of sweat, but he didn't dare move. On his back, sat a mine boss, idly watching his subordinates beat up a miner who was unwilling to go on stage and compete.
The wretched miner's mournful cries kept pouring into Gezhi's ears, along with those sinister smiles, making him feel like he was in hell.
"Pfft, useless, feed it to the dogs!" Mine Boss said with a mouthful of watermelon, his face full of disdain. "What's the point in keeping this trash?"
The thugs immediately dragged the battered miner, covered in blood, to a corner. Several hunting dogs caught wind of the bloody smell and became even more ferocious.
"Spare me, I beg of you." The miner's weak entreaty.
The ruffians chuckled and slowed down the dragging, watching the miners' terrified struggles, which was more entertaining to them than a play.
"Eat it." The mine boss threw the melon rind in front of Ge Ce and stood up to stretch.
Ge Ce hesitated for a moment, and as a result, one foot stepped on his palm, grinding it fiercely. The piercing pain immediately swept through his nerves.
"Even if I kneel down, what's there to be afraid of?" Miner Ba sneered, spitting a thick wad of phlegm onto Ge Ce's hair. "If you don't want to eat, let's get on the boxing ring and have a match instead."
"No, I'll eat." Gertz's whole body was trembling, he glanced at the two miners fighting to death on the boxing ring, and helplessly lowered his head towards the melon skin.
"Haha, trash." Watching Ge Ce gnawing on a melon rind, King Mine sneered with pride, enjoying the feeling of controlling others' fate. Then he kicked him in the stomach, "Stop eating, get on the ring."
"Didn't you say that eating it would make me not go up?" Ge Ce was stunned, the rules of the arena were too cruel, until one side lost consciousness and fell down to end, but if they pretended to lose, they would be beaten into a severe injury.
"Shut up, I told you to die, will you?!" Miner Ba kicked Gazi's chin and grabbed his collar, pulling him towards the boxing ring. "I've placed my bet, I wager 10 gold coins that Bas can cripple this kid in one minute."
"No, please!" Ge Zai shouted loudly, struggling violently, especially when he saw that the two-meter-tall Bas had put on a pair of iron-studded boxing gloves, and a stream of urine uncontrollably wet his pants.
"Haha, look quickly, this useless person has peed their pants."
"To deal with him on the court, a dog would be enough."
"Yeah, it's been a long time since I've seen a dog fight. Hopefully this little guy can hold on for a bit longer."
The gang of mine tyrants recklessly teased, the laughter filling the boxing room was full of malice.
"Up, bite him!" Bas loosened a strap holding back the hunting dog and led it towards Gertse.
The hound's furious barking and pouncing caused its saliva to splatter onto Gretz's face.
Ge Ce wanted to run away, but was kicked in the knee by Meina and couldn't get up from the pain, could only desperately crawl.
Bang!
A loud crash, the door was kicked open, and under great force it split into four or five pieces, instantly quieting down the boxing room.
The mine boss and his gang turned their heads, seeing six 'iron cans' fully wrapped in heavy armor charging in amidst the flying wood chips, standing on both sides, followed by that young man who had been very popular lately walking in.
The iron war boots trampled on the floor, issuing a dull thud, like a war drum beating in their hearts, making them unconsciously restrain their arrogant attitude.
"Wow, you're having a lot of fun!" Tong Dun saw Ge Ce's face twisted in fear, the young man was almost collapsing.
"Dundon, this doesn't concern you. If you don't want trouble, leave quickly." The tone of the mine boss was not very firm, no way, someone's battle achievements are the best deterrent force.
"I'm the overseer, anything that happens in the mine is my business." Tandon's brow furrowed, the smell of blood in the fighting pit made him uncomfortable, especially those few hunting dogs, which had been barking wildly.
"Dongton, help me!" Ge Zai begged with tears streaming down his face, he couldn't understand why their current situation was so different when they were all of the same age and had arrived at the mine at the same time.
The two miners on the platform also stopped, but their lips moved a few times, and they didn't dare to ask for help.
"Who made you stop." Several thugs immediately rushed up and surrounded them, beating them wildly, demonstrating their strength to Tang Dun.
"Kid, don't give face if you can't afford to lose it." Bass spat a wad of thick phlegm and released the hunting dog, walking towards Tanton. Three soul shields appeared around his body, slowly rotating.
Seeing Basu, who was the most capable of fighting, take the lead, the other fighters looked at Mineba and got a nod to start, then they all picked up their weapons such as machetes.
They are the direct line of the General Manager, and it is absolutely impossible for them to coexist peacefully with Tang Dun. Many of them want to get rid of Tang Dun and then receive a reward from Duosaifu. After all, this kid is considered to be one of the dogs of the new master Duofenke, with some status and weight.
"Put down your weapons and line up against the wall, or else you'll have to bear the consequences." Danton's gaze swept across the boxing room, where there were dry bloodstains everywhere, and who knew how many people had been tortured into disability here.
"Haha, are you kidding me?" Bas was very treacherous, and before he had even finished laughing, he suddenly struck out. His fist shot towards Tang Dong's throat at the same time as his leg lifted up to heavily kick his groin, determined to take him down with one blow.
"Be careful!" The trusted followers who were squeezed at the door were greatly shocked.
Dangton was quick to defend himself, his right fist flying swiftly to strike the man's wrist while his left foot lifted and stomped down on Bas's shinbone, using the momentum to pull out the dagger that had been lodged in his boot.
Bass's second punch came, but before it even hit Tangdon, a dagger flashed through the air and sliced across his wrist, leaving behind a green glow.
Bang! A hand fell to the ground, and fresh blood spurted wildly from the severed stump.
Bas let out a miserable cry, hastily holding up his soul shield to block the attack, but the magic dagger was too sharp and pierced through it, lodging itself in his shoulder.
Ah! Basque howled, kneeling on the ground, the gushing blood soaked through his chest, but this guy was tough enough to grab onto Tangdon's crotch and pinch his bird to explosion.
Danton lifted his leg and gave him a heavy kick, the military boot thundering on his nose, sending him flying like a broken sack for over ten meters.
"Don't make me say it a third time, everyone get down with your heads against the wall." Downton completely disregarded the more than 40 people in the room and walked towards Mine Boss.
A hound dashed forward and leapt at Downton.
Danton's footsteps didn't stop, his arm swung, and he wiped the dagger across the hunting dog's body.
The hunting dog fell to the ground, a terrifying gash appeared on its body, it stood unsteadily and then collapsed, blood and entrails splattering everywhere.
"Take them down." Jackson charged forward with a group of swift-moving ghoul minions, their feet glowing with agility. He was angry that he had to take care of this himself, killing small fry was something his master should handle personally, otherwise it would be too humiliating.
The fighters apparently didn't have fewer group fights. Looking at their strong opponents, they didn't blindly gang up on them but instead formed a defensive formation.
"Wait!" The mine owner looked at Basu, who was knocked down with a single punch and his forehead was instantly covered in sweat. He hastily shouted, "Tang Dun, are you really going to fight Dushev to the death?"
"Why can't I?" Tangdon retorted.
"His predecessors who took over his position either died or left in a sorry state, so Dofenke will likely meet the same end. You can still switch sides now and it's not too late." Miner Boss was extremely depressed, and fighting with Tangton would be a battle he was unlikely to win, but if he didn't fight, his current position would definitely be lost. The General Manager would never tolerate a cowardly good-for-nothing.
Downton nodded and showed a thoughtful expression.
The mine overlord thought there was a play, and he made more efforts to persuade him. If he could win him over, it would be a great achievement, so he put on a flattering smile and patted the flattering horse.
"With your strength, you can absolutely be our team leader and earn at least a thousand gold coins every month. It's easy and safe, much better than following Dofenku."
The mine overlord wanted to say more, but the curved warrior's sword was like a thunderbolt, with an aura of crushing pressure, slashing down.
The soul shield was fully opened, surging towards the top of his head and chest. The mining boss retreated rapidly in shock, but then felt a pain in his shoulder, watching in horror as his arm was chopped off and fell to the ground.
"You...!" The mine boss was furious and his heart was about to burst with anger. He didn't expect this guy to be so reckless.
"Your nonsense is too much." Danton flipped his wrist and shook off the bloodstains on his military knife.
"Master!" Jackson, holding a scabbard, slightly bowed and stood beside Downton, "Let me do it!"
"This is your last chance, put down all your weapons, squat against the wall, otherwise you will be executed for intentional injury." Tong Dun casually threw his warrior's sword back into its scabbard and continued walking.
The gang of mine bosses retreated in unison, Tang Dun's two shots were both bloody, directly disabling the two most powerful people and suppressing them.
The followers saw Tang Don exert his divine power and deal with the Mine Overlord's gang, who had been rampant in the mine, like a mouse. They were excited beyond measure and also shouted loudly.
"Everyone kneel down!"
The angry roars of over 300 people made the roof tremble, and the mining boss's gang looked tense with pale faces. After hesitating for a moment, they decided that good men don't take advantage of the situation in front of them and didn't dare to resist, obediently walking to the wall and kneeling down.
"Can you still speak?" Tang Don asked a few injured miners, without waiting for their response, he directly ordered, "Get a few people to carry them back to the dormitory, remember, make sure the surrounding miners see their miserable state, let them understand how the foreman is abusing everyone."
Danton didn't want to stay in the bloody boxing room any longer, turned around and left. A moment later, a miner responsible for keeping watch came running up hastily, shouting with a tense face.
"Something terrible has happened!"
