Chapter 115: Rise

Downton ignored the warning and continued his rounds on the floor.

In the corridor, those thugs had been driven out, with their hands on their heads and squatting on the ground facing the wall. They heard footsteps and subconsciously looked up.

Some of them were seeing Downton for the first time, and their eyes widened in surprise at how young he was, whispering to each other in hushed tones.

"Shut up, no talking allowed!" The trusted followers yelled, maintaining order, while some of the abused took the opportunity to beat them.

  Downton looked towards the stairs!

The sound of footsteps was chaotic, mixed with the intense clanging of metal and wails. Immediately, a group of miners he had brought were chased out, each one battered and disheveled.

"Which bastard is acting wildly in Building No. 1, without even looking at what kind of place this is!" A mine boss holding a machete rushed into the corridor, bringing more than fifty subordinates to beat up the miners, chopping and causing blood to fly everywhere.

Die-hards are never in short supply, let alone these guys who are used to being arrogant in the dagger mine, how can they tolerate being trampled by others.

"What are you staring at? Let's go together!" A young attendant shouted and rushed out first, but the people following him were not many.

Dangton curled up the corner of his mouth, revealing a self-deprecating smile. He did all this not only to change his own situation but also to do something for the lowly miners. Unfortunately, they were too unambitious, and their psychology of seeking fortune and avoiding calamity had taken deep root.

"Haha, a bunch of soft eggs!" Miner Ba saw this scene and his momentum became even more vigorous. Even the thugs squatting on both sides were itching to move.

Danton sensed the change in atmosphere and knew that many eyes were fixed on him, at this moment he absolutely could not panic, otherwise the resistance would quickly expand.

"Jackson, give them a minute's worth! Blow 'em to hell!" Danton strode on, unheeding, waving his hand casually, and the ghouls pounced.

The narrow corridor was filled with the sound of clashing steel as the heavily armored demonic servant charged forward, its momentum like a tidal wave of iron crushing everything in its path.

The thugs who were crouching down quickly got up and stuck tightly to the wall, while some of those who failed to dodge in time were knocked down and trampled by combat boots, letting out mournful cries.

The gang of mine bosses hastily retreated, facing such momentum, even lending them a dragon beast's courage would not dare to resist.

The surroundings fell silent again, and the thugs all knelt down obediently.

"Overseer, something's gone terribly wrong!" The sentry miner raised his voice, seeing Tang Don ignoring him, became like an ant on a hot pot mountain, and shouted even louder.

"Shut up, I'm not deaf!" Tong Dun slapped his hand and drew it back, no need to ask him what had happened. "Isn't it just the supervisors who came? What are you panicking about?"

The miner covered his face with his hands, looking embarrassed, and when he saw that the other side had more than 500 people, he was indeed afraid.

"It seems some great generals have arrived." Holma was very satisfied with Danton's performance.

The behavior of the picketing miners caused tension among their own miners, but Downton's calmness also calmed them down.

"We need to install steel claws on the Ghouls as soon as possible, otherwise their killing power is too small." Tong Dun inspected the combat effectiveness of the magic servants and slightly accelerated his pace.

He wanted to confront the foremen outside Building No. 1 on the open ground, not only could beating them allow more miners to see their prestige lowered, but also avoid being surrounded in the building with limited terrain.

Once someone takes the lead, these seemingly obedient thugs will definitely rebel and cause no small trouble.

"Still need to establish a guard like an arm." Hollander advised.

"I'm a commoner, I don't have the qualifications to form a private army." Tanton was depressed, it's too hard to become a noble, even if he spent money to buy one, it would be a considerable sum, and it would only be a title without actual territory.

"Then strive to climb up, after solving the problem of the mine, it is bound to get the favor of Duofenke, and then can let him mediate." Mo Dian was ruthless, "No matter whether it's using money to crush or threatening with force, I will definitely make him surrender."

As Downton reached the first floor, a foreman burst in with a large crowd of people.

"Bastard, do you know whose territory this is? Who allowed you to run wild here?" The foreman roared with anger, especially when he saw the two rows of thugs standing against the wall in the corridor, like students being punished, almost making him furious. He couldn't understand how these guys were intimidated by a young man.

Tang Dun didn't say a word and just waved his index finger slightly.

"Charge! Drive them out!" Jackson grasped his crossbow and cocked it.

The crossbow bolt whizzed past the foreman's head and lodged in the shoulder of a hapless devil behind him.

This time no one hesitated, and they all charged forward with the ghouls. A hundred-man team packed the corridor, shoulder to shoulder, looking very impressive.

Before the foreman gave orders, the people he brought with him hastily retreated.

The windows of several dormitories nearby were all open, crowded with people's heads, watching. They had just been regretting that they couldn't see the situation inside the building, and as a result, the supervisors rushed out like the ebbing tide in the evening.

"Danton, Ram will surely kill you." The overseer was flustered and hastily pulled over a trusted follower to go shout for people.

"I was inspecting the dormitory hygiene and managing the mine's environment, what are you dissatisfied with?" The hundred-man squad parted to reveal a gap, and Tang Don walked out, "By the way, I wanted to ask, what's the deal with the private torture chamber on the top floor?"

Danton's voice was loud enough for the gathered miners to hear.

"What business is it of yours?" the foreman bellowed.

"What makes you think I can't be in charge?" Tong Dun said with a deliberate hint of puzzlement.

The supervisor was speechless. Didn't his own orders count? Even if others didn't have a position, they could still take care of themselves without any problem.

"Ah, I've found several witnesses who say that in the past few years, you've tortured to death nearly a thousand miners in your prison cells." Tang Don exaggerated the number, intimidating his opponent, "The crimes you've committed are enough to send you to the gallows a hundred times!"

"Impossible, how can there be so many?" The foreman was anxious and spoke hastily, but as soon as he finished speaking, a huge commotion erupted all around.

The miners all looked at him with shocked faces, they had heard some rumors that were true or false, but there was no evidence, and they just listened to them as a joke after dinner, but the foreman's words made them have to believe.

"Oh, so that's what you mean by tormenting some people? Who gave you the right?" Tong Dun shouted, "Collecting mining taxes is already excessive, and now you're treating people like dogs. Do you still have humanity?"

"Don't listen to his nonsense, it's not like that, we didn't torture anyone." The foreman was anxious, if this matter reached Ram's ears, he would be finished.

"It's all lies, then what about those cripples? Were the miners who just fought on the platform masochists?" Danton grabbed Gartzke and pulled him close. "He was almost torn apart by your trained hunting dogs, how do you explain that? Did we all see it wrong?"

Danton's questioning made the miners around him increasingly angry.

"No, no, it's not like that!" The foreman shouted urgently, "Don't listen to his nonsense, Tang Dun, shut your mouth or the master will definitely kill you."

"Oh, even someone like me who's just a supervisor dares to be killed, don't you think ordinary miners are even more insignificant in your eyes?"

"Not bad, he's actually stirring up the crowd!" Looking at Tang Dun's intimidating gaze, which made the foreman flustered, Holma couldn't help but laugh.

"It's not." The foreman was still trying to argue, but the head of the foremen who had been rushed over struck him on the forehead with a black short stick and he fainted on the spot.

"Scum!" The leader spat a wad of thick phlegm, walked up to Tang Don's face and stood still, menacingly threatening, "You little brat, don't even think about taking another step forward!"

Tang Dun's response was simple and direct, he swung his fist and punched the foreman's mouth hard.

The leader let out a miserable cry, and a mouthful of blood mixed with broken teeth spurted out, staining the ground a deep red.

"Take him down!" The leader didn't expect Tang Don to be so quick, and before he could even shout out in anger, the second stick came down, striking his chin.

The chief's trusted attendants were about to rush over to rescue, but unfortunately the cunning Jackson was faster. A crossbow arrow shot out and knocked down an unlucky devil. This ruthless killing move stunned them, causing them to slow down for a moment. When they wanted to charge again, the demon servants took the lead, followed by a hundred miner troops who had already swarmed up, blocking their way and engaging in a chaotic battle.

The foreman's head hit the ground and curled up into a shrimp shape, Tongdon's military boots kicked his thick-skinned area fiercely.

The onlookers were subdued by Tang's dominance, to know that the entire mine had only five supervisors, except for Ram, they were the most powerful, but now being pressed to the ground and beaten by Tang, just like a dead dog on the side of the road, where was their previous overbearing prestige?

"This is really impressive, this kid's rise is unstoppable."

"He can absolutely become a formidable opponent for the general manager. If Ram is not careful, he might end up capsizing in the gutter."

"Dofenke probably didn't expect Tanton to be so powerful and find a good helper, now he's probably laughing in his sleep."

Onlookers admired Tang Don, but some of them also felt jealous. He was too young and already had such a status, his future prospects were boundless.

They began to regret it, if they had been more ruthless and gone to recommend themselves to Dofenke, would there still be an opportunity for Tang Dun to come out now?

"Alright, mission accomplished, I'm out of here." Tong Don stretched his limbs and left the dormitory area. "Homa, I'm going to ask Duofenke for a leave tomorrow and head to Chenwu Town."

"Want to go to Wolf and Spice Grocery Store?"

"Hmm, didn't she agree to sell us some extremely rare dragon-slaying class upgraded potions?" Tang Don was very curious, but even more so, he wanted to see the female shop owner again, he really liked her voice, it sounded very comfortable.

"Dofenke should agree." Holma thought of another thing and couldn't help but smile, "Lisite brought you to the Dagger Mine, ready to make you desperate. If he sees you jumping out alive, he might burst his lungs in anger."
