  Out of the er of his eye as he has his little panient, Thaddeus watches Jennifer exge hopeless gnces with Sue and Ja. Finally, Sue rises to her feet, holding up her hands pgly.

  “Stay calm, Thaddeus. We might have… hid our true identities a little bit. Sorry, but it was with the best of iions. Yes, Jen is She-Hulk. I’m Susan Storm, aka the Invisible Woman, and that’s Ja Van Dyherwise known as the . We’re heroes. You don’t have to be afraid.”

  Jennifer, having crossed her arms over her chest at this point a little defensively and more than a little insecurely, pipes up from there.

  “Nothing to be afraid about there. He was manhandling me easily, even after I transformed.”

  Thaddeus whimpers, which is no doubt a weird sound ing from his current appearaill, he’s got a role to py, and he’s going to py it to the hilt.

  “… I don’t uand. What’s going on?”

  Ja finally rises to her feet as well… and fres out her translut wings behind her.

  “If I had to guess? You’re like me, Thaddeus. Either that or a b experiment like Jen and Sue.”

  Both other women squawk at that casual descriptor, but Ja blht past them as she steps closer to Thaddeus, seemingly unafraid of his current size and strength. The pixie of a fashion designer even goes so far as to reach out and run a hand over his muscles as she hums.

  “… Tell me, have you lost any time retly? Any ks of memory missing that you ’t at for? Or have you otherwise been a part of any experimental programs by the gover or otherwise that involved iing you with strange substances? And finally, have you e into tact with any sort of alien or mystical material, something that’s clearly not of the mundane world that you might have touched or even just been near a straerwards?”

  Thaddeus blinks at Ja’s rather thh questioning, not even having to feign his surprise and mild fusion at the sudden interrogation. Slowly, he shakes his head.

  “… No? And no. Also no.”

  Maybe he could have tried to lie about one of those other things she mentioned, but the best lies were id down to bed alongside truth in his opinion, so he figures he’ll stick with what he actually knows so he avoid the most obvious pitfalls. And indeed, upon hearing his answers, Ja smiles smugly and nods her head.

  “As I thought. You’re one of mihen. A mutant, like me.”

  Feigning surprise, Thaddeus gapes in response, iing a bit of a voice crato his voice.

  “R-Really? I’m… a mutant?”

  A fsh of something dangerous appears in Ja’s eyes at that, even though he’d been careful not to i any disgust or loathing into his voice.

  “Is that a problem, Thaddeus? Don’t hate mutants, but when it bees you, suddenly you aren’t a fan of the idea? Is that it?”

  Thaddeus frowns in response, furrowing his brow and shaking his head.

  “No… of course not. I just… I’ve got a football schorship to ESU. A full ride based on my physical abilities. What the hell are they going to think when I show up over a foot taller to practiorrow?”

  Ja looks appropriately chagri his expnation, taking a step bad biting her lower lip. It’s clear she doesn’t have an immediate answer. Jennifer, meanwhile, does… but it’s not a very good one.

  “Steroids?”

  The green-skinned woman’s attempt at a joke falls ft with pretty much the entire room, making her huff and duck her head in embarrassment. Giving her friend a look, Sue turns back to Thaddeus, a curious glint in her eye.

  “Okay. We figure this out. Not to toot my own horn, but I’m not just Reed Richards’ girlfriend… er, ex-girlfriend. I’m a stist as well. First things first, I think we all noticed it… your mutation, if that is what it is, seems to be based around sex aing power from sex… as well as giving in turn. Full disclosure Thaddeus, but we all got stronger when you fucked us.”

  Thaddeus doesn’t have to feign his surprise… he holy wasn’t sure if they would tell the truth about that. Judging by the looks that Ja and Jennifer give their blonde friend, they aren’t quite sure they were going to either.   “Maybe… maybe this isn’t a ‘new normal’. Maybe this is a… transformation? Maybe you still reverse it…”

  “Oh! Yeah, maybe he got a version of my power! Err, though that might mean he’s angry right now. Or just particurly sexually charged… how ARE you feeling at the moment, Thaddeus?”

  Frowning at Jennifer’s question, Thaddeus pretends to sider it briefly while looking down at his truly gigantids for a moment, opening and closing them in the process.

  “I feel… strange. fused. Upset. Uain. But… strong.”

  Jennifer snickers.

  “Heh, yeah. That’s definitely me. Okay, try this then… breathe with me. In… and out… in… and out.”

  Thaddeus follows along with Jennifer’s words, inwardly amused. He grows even more amused when Jennifer’s little breathing mantra actually calms her down so much that she loses hold of her She-Hulk form. Obviously she didn’t o be THAT angry to hold onto it from what he uood, but even still.

  At the same time, he goes ahead and throws her a bone, as well as just doing it to throw them all off too, and slowly begins dialing down his own transformation with every long breath he takes. Until finally, he’s back at his ‘base’ size and looking down at himself in wonder.

  “H-Holy shit…”

  The three heroines all tio eat up his act, looking a mixture of ed, amused, and affeate for him. Ja is the quickest to step forward and suddenly her arms around one of his arms, which while shrunken down now, is still huge for someone of her size.

  “As a fellow mutant, I think it would be best if I were the oo show Thaddeus here the ropes, dies. It’s not that the two of you would mess it up or anything… but you’d probably mess it up.”

  Whoa now. That was rather cutthroat of the fashion designer. Was she seriously trying to stake a cim on him? Needless to say, both Sue and Jennifer are just as incredulous as Thaddeus in the face of Ja’s words.

  “Oh! You audacious bitch! What the hell do you mean mess it up, huh? He clearly has some form of my powers, so of course he needs my help!”

  Jennifer’s words would make sense… but apparently she and Sue aren’t presenting a united front here, because the bloeps in from the side and crosses her arms over her ow as she shakes her head.

  “I’m pretty sure she’s talking about you transf into the She-Hulk mid-fud pletely blowing our cover, Jen. You kind of did mess things up. If you’d kept your cool, we could have all brought Thaddeus up to speed about his powers together, in a calmer manner. But you kind of made a mess of things. Still, I don’t see how I messed anything up yet! And besides, it’s not like we know for a fact that Thaddeus is a mutant! He could still have been experimented on as a child, for instance!”

  … It said something about their world that Ja pauses briefly at that idea before ultimately shrugging in response.

  “Experimented on as a baby and mutant are practically the same thing, really. As for how YOU messed up… well, there is the fact that you blew our identities after Jennifer blew hers. Telling Thaddeus who you were is ohing, but telling him who I am was out of line, don’t you think?”

  “He would have found out soon enough anyways! You would have told him!”

  “Maybe, but at least it would have been my choice!”

  … They were fighting over him. They were hoo goodness bickering over him, like three hyenas brawling over a piece of particurly suct meat. His eyes ping-ponging bad forth between them all, Thaddeus hardly believe his ears. Where had their solidarity gone? Why were they suddenly being so catty with each other? Why were they suddenly at one another’s throats?

  Was this his Luck at work somehow? Was he going to be asking himself that for the rest of eternity, or would he eventually get used to it enough to stop being ed?

  Either way, ohing was for sure… he o step in before things got too heated. With the three heroines sniping at one another over him, it seemed that Thaddeus was to be the deg vote…
