Chapter 3: The First Steps

  Ihe crumbling ruins of what seemed to be an abandoned building, the newly awakened sciousook a shaky breath. The sensation of lungs expanding and trag was unfamiliar, yet strangely natural. He looked down at his hands—pale, thin, trembling. This body was weak. Too weak. But it was his now.

  His heart was still pounding from the chase. That monstrous creature… if it had caught him, he would have been devoured without resistahe mere thought sent a shiver down his spine. He o uand his body, his surroundings, and most importantly—his situation.

  Taking a cautious step forward, he stumbled, almost colpsing onto the cold, cracked floor. The weight, the ba all felt unnatural. His mind was still adjusting, trying to euscles that had never been his before.

  Minutes passed. Then hours. He practiced walking, standing, even simple movements like g his fists and stretg his fingers. The body’s limitations were frustrating, but he was learning.

  His stomach growled. A new, unwele sensation. Hunger.

  That meant he needed food. But stepping outside was dangerous. The monster could still be lurking. His mind, though still adapting, was clear ohing—he wouldn’t survive another enter like that.

  He had no choice. He had to find a way to bee stronger.

  With a determined expressioook a deep breath and stepped toward the exit. It was time to face the world.
