The dim glow of a ptop screen illuminated Ryosuke Takahashi’s face as he scrolled through the test update on the Project D website. His sharp eyes scanned through the uploaded dashcam footage from their st practice session.
Someone had uploaded the footage anonymously… It was the hypercar from the previous night. A first-person view as it blew by Keisuke and struggled in the hairpins, barely getting past Takumi.
Ryosuke leaned forward, watching intently as the Zonda made its way through the treacherous turns of Haruna. The car was fast—unbelievably so—but it was the technique that had his full attention. The way it drifted, the angles it took… It shouldn’t have been possible. A rear-engine, high-downforce hypercar was not meant to move like that.
The comment section was already flooded with reactions.
Anonymous: WHO THE HELL DRIFTS A ZONDA IN Haruna?!?!?!?!??
TougeMaster_86: That thing ate the 86 and the FD like they were nothing!!
Ry_Analysis: Did you see the line it took? That was inhuman.
Ryosuke steepled his fingers in thought. “Keisuke, Takumi… you both saw it firsthand. Now, the whole world will too. We need to fight this thing.. I need a pn.”
120MPHSupra: Oh Damn that’s the monster that put down the devil Z
Ryosuke paused the video on the turn on where the Zonda passed the 86… The vehicle was almost certainly breaking the ws of physics. It was like magic, almost when Takumi’s car sprouted wings. An then there was a very feminante giggle as the 86 was passed.
“Who is she?” Ryosuke mutters.
========Luna stretched her wings slightly as she stepped out of the hotel lobby, letting the morning sun bathe her in golden light. The cool summer air of Japan carried a gentle breeze, filled with the scent of freshly brewed tea and sizzling street food from nearby vendors.
Kappa behind the checkin desk look at the foreigners with shock. Probably mistaking Luna for another race. With a small nod her wings dissapared, an she stepped out on to the mundane streets.
“Alright, where to first?” she mused, gncing at the itinerary Daphne had meticulously pnned. Harry stood beside her, sipping on a vending machine coffee, still recovering from their te-night antics on Mount Haruna. Daphne, of course, looked perfectly composed, flipping through her notes with an elegant smirk.
"You wanted a mix of history and excitement," Daphne said, adjusting her sungsses. "So, first stop—Fushimi Inari Taisha."
Luna nodded, eager to explore. Even with her vast knowledge of different realms, there was something uniquely mystical about Japan. The shrine was just as breathtaking as she imagined—the vermillion torii gates stretched endlessly up the mountainside, forming a winding path that pulsed with old magic. The fox statues, their eyes gleaming, seemed to recognize something in her as she passed.
Harry rubbed his temple. "You feel that?"
"Shinto spirits," Daphne murmured. "They're watching us. Curious, but not hostile."
Luna simply smiled. She had been watched by far greater beings before. Still, she felt a certain respect in the air, an acknowledgment that she did not quite belong—yet was welcome.
After leaving an offering at one of the smaller shrines, they continued their journey. Kyoto had an undeniable charm, its streets lined with wooden machiya houses, paper nterns swaying gently in the breeze. As they wandered through the bustling Nishiki Market, Luna’s attention was drawn to a vendor selling freshly grilled yakitori. She wasted no time grabbing a skewer, savoring the smoky, umami-rich fvor.
Harry, on the other hand, had discovered matcha ice cream and looked far too content.
Daphne chuckled. "You two look like tourists."
"We are tourists," Luna shot back, licking a bit of sauce from her fingers.
“Tourist’s huh? Does that mean you actually go the Visa’s or are you three here to cause trouble?” A female voice asks from behind them.
“Oh! We stopped by Yasaka’s Pace and made sure to have all of our paperwork sorted out.” Luna states with a cheer turning around to see a woman wearing a Yukata.
Daphne turned around to see who the voice belonged to and froze while Harry didnt recognize the figure and shrugged his shoulders.
The woman in the yukata stood with an amused smile on her face, the warm spring breeze tugging gently at the fabric of her traditional attire. Her hair, dark and pulled back into a loose bun, shimmered in the sunlight as she tilted her head at Luna’s recognition.
“Ama-chan, long time no see,” Luna said, her tone light and pyful, yet with a hint of surprise. She reached out to give the woman a quick hug.
Daphne’s eyes widened as she watched Luna embrace the woman, and for a moment, the woman seemed momentarily stunned. Her body stiffened, and she blinked several times as if unsure how to respond.
Luna pulled back from the hug, her face lighting up with a smile. “Ama-chan, it’s really good to see you again. I didn’t expect to run into you here of all pces.”
The woman—Amaterasu, the sun goddess—gazed at Luna with a mix of confusion and uncertainty. She furrowed her brow, her posture stiffening. “Ama-chan?” she repeated, her voice softer than Luna remembered. “I’m sorry, but I don’t—” Her words faltered. “Do I know you?”
Luna blinked, taken aback by the unfamiliarity in Ama-chan’s tone. “It’s me, Luna. From—well, from before. You know, the times we’ve met?”
“I met you?” Amaterasu asks
“Ah, im not a giant pony right now and I dont have Tia with me… I am Luna princess of the moon.” Luna states with a smile trying to jog the older goddess’ memory.
Amaterasu’s eyes flickered with recognition, and suddenly, it was as if a light switched on. Her gaze softened, and her lips parted in shock. “Luna...?” she whispered, her voice trembling with disbelief. She took a step closer, her hands slightly reaching out as if trying to confirm this was real. “Princess of the Moon... But—" She paused, her brow furrowing deeply. "I thought you... I thought you were... dead.”
“Oh yeah… Uh tales of my death were greatly exaggerated.
“Does this mean that Equestria is going to be making contact with the outside world again?” Amaterasu
“I wouldn’t know im currently banished here.” Luna answers with a smile.
