Chapter 8 – This tea is really expensive!

Gu Heng looked at the silver kitten in his arms behaving so well in front of strangers, feeling quite pleased. Although he didn't know why these two seemed so ied i, he thought perhaps he had picked up a rare breed of stray cat.

He didn't dwell on it much, but when he saw Bai Fei'er ing to his Medie Hall again, he was somewhat surprised.

Last night, Gu Heng had clearly withe dramatic se of Bai Fei'er fiercely cutting ties with her "husband." Seeing her now, full of spirit and radiance, she was so beautiful that it was hard to look away.

When they first met by ce, Bai Fei'er was drenched in the rain, as if all hope in life had been pletely stripped away, like a walking corpse.

  Now, she looked much better.

Although Gu Heng didn't pn to take credit for himself, perhaps that rainy enter had helped her untangle her heart's knots?

Of course, he didn't io say this out loud. Bai Fei'er was quite humble, and he, a mere mortal physi, shouldn't pretend to be something he's not, lest he be misuood.

Since Gu Heng appeared, Bai Mo had been this seemingly young but actually a "youth." Bai Mo couldn't dis anything from him; there was no trace of true energy. This level of mastery, where one bees oh nature, left Bai Mo secretly in awe.

Moreover, he couldn't evehrough the Nine-Lives Demon Cat that Gu Heng treated as a pet, but he could ses danger.

Yet from Gu Heng, Bai Mo felt nothing, except perhaps for the natural, extreme affinity he exuded, a return to simplicity that made Bai Mo feel both reverend fear.

Someone who could keep a Tribution Crossing stage demo as a pet was not someone a mere Divided Spirit stage cultivator like him could fathom.

  "And who might this be?"

Gu Heng only noticed Bai Mo at this moment, raising an eyebrow.

He found the middle-aged man familiar but didn't think much of it. Bai Fei'er left a deep impression on him, being a beautiful woman, after all. As for this man... fet it.

Seeing Gu Heng's inquiry, Bai Mo hurriedly bowed and said, "I am Bai Mo. I heard you have been particurly atteo my young dy, so I came to express my gratitude. I hope we haven't disturbed you."

Although Gu He he hadn't really done anything special, just offered her shelter from the rain and a bowl of soup that could only heal mortals.

And that was just yesterday. From Bai Mo's words, calling Bai Fei'er "young dy," he seemed to be a servant of the Bai Family, appearing to be a mortal, yet Bai Fei'er seemed to respect him...

Gu Heng thought, even in the eyes of cultivators, mortals aren't necessarily insignifit. Bai Mo likely watched Bai Fei'er grow up and naturally had feelings for her, and Bai Fei'er probably felt the same.

Sihey were both mortals, and since Bai Mo thought it worth thanking him, Gu Heng could only smile and say, "It was just a small gesture, not worth mentioning. Miss Fei'er is quite extraordinary; I think anyone else might have dohe same."

This senior's realm is truly different. In this world full of ptible matters, he still holds such a pure mortal heart... These words left Bai Mo with maions, feeling ashamed. To Bai Fei'er, this was a great kindness, but Gu Heng seemed to think it was no big deal.

Bai Mo had initially prepared to say, "This kindness is as heavy as a mountain; if you ever need anything, the Bai Family will not hesitate," but now he couldn't bring himself to say it.

Gu Heng thought it was a small matter, and if Bai Mo insisted on discussing rewards, it might displease this Hidden World Master.

"Oh dear, look at me, fetting my manners, just standing here chatting. Please, e to the ba and have some tea."

Gu Heng suddenly patted his head, apologetically smiling. He pced Little Xi oable aly instructed, "Stay here."

Su Jinxi licked her paw and quietly sat there.

  "Thank you, senior."

Bai Mo immediately straightened up, knowing this was a gesture of respect from a senior, and naturally wouldn't refuse. He and Bai Fei'er followed Gu Heng to the back hall.

The back hall was well-kept, but further back, there was a small courtyard that was quite messy, especially not suitable fuests to see.

Bai Mo and Bai Fei'er sat at a tea table. Gu Heng took a teapot, having already brewed tea in the m, and poured them each a cup. Bai Mo and Bai Fei'er respectfully accepted the cups.

"By the way, I still don't know your name, senior?"

Bai Mo put down his cup, realizing he didn't know the name of this Hidden World Master. Bai Fei'er had been too shocked to ask during their ter, and now, as a young junior, she didn't dare to speak out of turn.

"My surname is Gu, given name Heng. Just call me Gu Heng, or Du. Once you're familiar, there's o call me senior; it's a bit too much."

Gu Heng sat down, smiling, and took a sip of tea.

"This... doesn't seem right. You're highly respected; how could I dare to be so casual..."

  "It's perfectly fine."

Gu Heng waved his hand, indig he didn't mind, "I don't like being called senior. If you must, calling me Young Master Gu is also fine."

Mainly, he was still so young, in his prime, and Bai Mo looked much older than him. Being called senior made Gu Heng feel as if he had aged hundreds of years.

  "This..."

Bai Mo hesitated, looking at Bai Fei'er.

"Young Master Gu is right. A ter is also fate; we seem too distant otherwise."

Bai Fei'er smiled gently. Her thoughts turned quickly; since Gu Heng didn't like the title "senior," calling him "Young Master" was fine, as he requested.

  "Then... alright, Young Master Gu."

Bai Mo sidered for a moment and couldn't refuse, though he was quite nervous inside. He took a sip of tea to calm his turbuleions.

But as the tea entered, Bai Mo's pupils dited dramatically.

The tea carried a robust essence, instantly filling his limbs, surpassing even the best spirit springs. Bai Mo felt utterly fortable!

  He nearly lost his posure.

"What's wrong? Is the tea not to your taste?"

Gu Heng noticed his rea and asked tentatively.

The tea leaves were something he had gotten for free from the system mall, never used to eais before. It wasn't that he didn't want to, but the items from the system mall were hard to present, and the taste was just average. Bai Mo and Bai Fei'er, despite their status differences, were both from promi families and had surely tasted many delicacies. His s might not be suitable for eaining them.

"Oh no, the tea is smooth and refreshing, truly top-notch!"

Bai Mo quickly put down the cup, hiding his iurmoil. He didn't know what Gu Heng used to brew the tea, but it was clearly some high-quality, medially potent treasure leaf!

"Is that so? That's good to hear. I have plenty of these tea leaves; I'll give you some to take bad brew."

Seeing Bai Mo's apparent enjoyment, Gu Heng thought perhaps he didn't appreciate good things due to his rough nature. So, he decided to give him some tea leaves.

With that thought, Gu Heng got up, went to a nearby et, and casually took out a wooden box, handing it to Bai Mo.

"You're too kind, Young Master Gu."

Bai Mo accepted it with trembling hands, opening the box to reveal something that left both Bai Fei'er and Bai Mo astonished.

The tea leaves were jade-like, glossy and radiaing a rich fragrance. Most striking was the faint golden glow enveloping them, indig their potent medial properties.

Bai Mo had seen such treasure leaves before!

These were Bodhi Leaves! Top-tier spiritual pnts, used in medie and alchemy, capable of replenishing vitality, alleviating severe blood deficies, and solidating the Dao foundation, crucial for Divided Spirit stage cultivators breaking through realms!

He had only seen the Sunfre Empire's emperor reward a favored minister with a tiny piece, and its quality was trash pared to the Bodhi Leaves in this box!

Bai Fei'er was naturally shocked too. Though she had withe wonders hidden within Gu Heng's old Medie Hall, his generosity tio amaze.

Using such items to brew tea meahan a thousandth of their efficacy was utilized.

In their eyes, Gu Heng's life as a Hidden World Master, living among mortals, was extravagantly luxurious.
