Chapter 31 Future
Old Green House, the orphanage in the Falrbor Town, seemed somewhat lonely since Terrance left. The children suddenly seemed to grow up a bit. Terrance's actions made them understand the current situation of the Old Green House to some extent, and Grandma Arn could only sigh silently about this.
"It's been such a long time, where is Brother Terrance now..." Sitting on the eaves, Little Rina looked up at the sky, her longing for Terrance had not faded yet.
"Hey, Rina, come down quickly, it's dangerous staying up there on the house!" Under the house, the brown-haired Ayan shouted anxiously, causing Little Rina to make a face before she reluctantly came down.
"Why are you yelling?" Rina pouted unhappily.
"You..." Ayan shook his head helplessly, not knowing how to make Rina listen. Perhaps only Brother Terrance could do that.
"Brother Ayan...you're going to turn ten soon. Are you also pnning to leave like Brother Terrance?" Looking at Ayan's angry expression, Rina suddenly felt sad as she recalled the early days with Terrance.
"Well..." Rina's question caught Ayan off guard, leaving him at a loss for words.
Apart from Terrance, Ayan was the oldest among the children at Old Green House, and he could somewhat understand Terrance's actions. However….he cked the confidence to venture outside like Terrance.
"Is it really that easy...? I don't even have a Pokémon. Compared to Brother Terrance, I don't have his knowledge nor do I have a Beautifly….Also I am not even sure I can become a Trainer..." There was a moment of silence, but deep down, Ayan's basic self-esteem still made an ugly smile appear on his face. "Perhaps..."
It could be a year, or two years, or perhaps the legally defined age of independence at ten, or a few more years of waiting, each child would face their own choices that no one could escape.
Ayan, who admired Terrance, the "simple-minded" Taiga who wanted to taste delicacies from various pces, Chisana who aspired to be a Coordinator, Scarlet who wanted to inherit Old Green House, Myu who wished to become a big star, and Rina, whose dream is to become an investigator who apprehends bad people who harms Pokémon.
Everyone had their own pursuits, but factors such as their origins and upbringing limited them to the Old Green House, forcing them to face reality helplessly.
"I really envy Terrance..." Ayan sighed in his heart, gazing outside Old Green House.
...
...
In another direction, Steport City.
Inside a luxurious building.
Master Victor stroked his beard, and opened the communication device as he had received a message from June Joy.
"Have you made the decision, little girl?" Master Victor smiled. He knew that his student was unwilling to follow the path of most people in the family. With such talent, being an Intermediate Breeder wouldn't be her limit.
Click... Click... Click...
Electricity passed through the communication device, the screen turned bck, then slowly white, and June Joy's photo appeared. Little June, who had already gained the family's approval, once again discussed her future direction with her teacher.
They talked for a long time, and their conversation gradually turned to Terrance. Mentioning the young man, Master Victor's face revealed a pleased smile.
"Well, he's currently doing quite well. Perhaps in the future, you will be able to meet him..."
Half of the test time had passed, and so far, everything seemed to be going smoothly. After all, Master Victor had not received any news, which meant that Terrance's performance was satisfactory.
Master Victor began to look forward to it.
In the span of a month, how far can Terrance, a rookie with humble origins, go with Swablu?...
And has Swablu already awakened its innate Dragon-type talent?...
...
...
Sootopolis City, Sootopolis Gym.
Walce looked helplessly at his incapacitated Milotic, wearing a wry smile on his face.
"I lost to you again, Steven."
On the opposite side, a young man with silver-blue hair smiled and said to Walce, "You have to work harder, Walce."
"Your strength has improved once again, Steven..." Walce's mentor, Juan, who served as the referee for this friendly match, was also amazed by Steven's abilities. He had always believed that his own disciple possessed terrifying talent, but as they say there is always someone more exceptional in the vast world. Walce's friend and Devon Corporation's President's son, Steven comes from a privileged background and is a cut above Walce's strength.
"You're already preparing to challenge that position, aren't you, Steven?" Juan looked at the young men with a hint of sigh and said, "It seems that the top seats of the Hoenn region will belong to you all in the future."
Steven and Walce were incredibly powerful, both in terms of strength and talent, such that even a seasoned Trainer like Juan has no choice but to admit it.
Having two such outstanding new-generation Trainers in the Hoenn region made Juan feel deeply moved.
"Yes, the old man at home is urging me too much, but I'm not really interested in those positions. If possible, I would rather travel around and collect some stones that I like..." Steven awkwardly chuckled.
"But... the position of the Master is not so easy to secure... There are many talented Trainers emerging now." At this moment, Walce suddenly thought of something and smiled.
"Oh? Are you talking about those two kids you mentioned st time?" Juan became curious.
Steven, on the other hand, was hearing this for the first time and leaned in to listen.
"Yes... successfully passing the Junior Breeder exam at the age of ten, and from my investigation, it turns out that one of them is an orphan... You know how difficult the Junior Breeder exam is. For someone who has just reached this age to become a rookie Trainer, it is incredibly difficult." Walce chuckled. He had made significant preparations to tackle the Junior Breeder exam. Although it was a spur-of-the-moment decision based on Steven's suggestion, the biggest credit goes to his years of exposure and an excellent educational environment.
Steven was taken aback. "Ten years old? That's truly remarkable. Even with the master my family brought in to teach me, I only passed the exam at the age of twelve..."
Ten years old, the lowest passing age in the history of Breeders, it naturally holds extraordinary significance.
"Interesting rookies... I look forward to their growth..."
With the Pokémon League expanding to different regions, establishing branches in unknown territories, and increasing Trainer benefits, the League Conference was becoming more widely popurized, reducing the burden of becoming a Trainer. Whether it was Juan, Steven, or Walce, it seemed like they could envision a scene in the coming years where talented Trainers continued to emerge.
As technology continues to advance and living standards improve, Pokémon, known as friends, partners, and helpers to humans, would inevitably become part of every family. Regardless of their background, becoming a Trainer might no longer be an unattainable dream. In five years... ten years... twenty years... Kanto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and even Unova Region will bear the footprints of numerous Trainers, creating a vibrant and diverse community.
[P.S: The timeline is set five years before Ash sets out.]
Chapter 32 The training reaching end
On the other hand, gradually adapting to the wild life, Terrance embarked on a new round of training with Swablu.
Basics, moves, real combat, theory, tactics, emotions...
In order to prepare for the upcoming final test, Terrance has been giving his all, striving alongside Swablu in various ways.
And so, the end of one month was nearing since Terrance entered Mt. Chimney.
The twenty-plus days of being together have intensified the bond between Swablu and Terrance. In this forest, they have left behind countless drops of sweat and ughter.
"Spsh!"
A Marill jumped out of the ke, causing ripples on the surface.
In the sky, Swablu exhaled a blue breath, sending the Marill plunging back into the water, effortlessly concluding the battle.
"Well done!"
Catching Swablu as it flew towards him, Terrance revealed a satisfied smile.
The month-long training period was about to end, and Terrance had witnessed Swablu's progress with his own eyes. He felt a sense of accomplishment and was increasingly happy for Swablu.
After another twenty days of training, Swablu's strength had undergone a remarkable transformation.
The current Swablu is no longer the timid little creature it was when it was born. It was even much superior than the many Starter Pokémon given to rookies.
It was at the fastest-growing stage of its life since it was born, having already learned two inherited moves and even mastering the move Roost as a result.
With the inspiration from Feather Dance, Swablu successfully learned Cotton Guard.
Moreover, Swablu is now able to use Agility to some extent, and no longer experiences a situation where it loses control over its movements.
The only regret Terrance felt was that Swablu has yet to learn the powerful move "Dragon Rush." Even Master Victor admitted that he wasn't certain about the odds of inheriting it, but the slim chance is worth striving for.
On the other hand, due to its physical growth stage, Swablu has become more adept at "sound"- type moves.
As for the move "Peck," Swablu can now easily penetrate and shatter a rge wooden stake, demonstrating a high level of proficiency.
Terrance had already abandoned the single-use move, Natural Gift, some time ago. It was partly due to the hassle it caused and also because as Swablu grew, its reliance on Natural Gift would slowly diminish.
However, these are not the most important things. In these past few days, Terrance and Swablu helped an injured Nuzleaf, and to Terrance's surprise, the leader of the Nuzleaf tribe looked for him to express its gratitude and provided him with much assistance.
One of the things they did was to teach Swablu a new move.
Hidden Power.
At first, it was challenging for Swablu to learn this new move. In theory, most Pokémon can learn it, but the effects vary based on the individual.
But Shiftry guided it patiently. As Swablu was quite clever, after a whole day of training, Swablu was finally able to freely use this move.
Simir to what Terrance had specuted, the awakened attribute effect of Swablu was "Dragon," likely due to the strong Dragon-type bloodline within its body.
However, Swablu, who has just learned this move, still cannot fully control it, just like with Agility and Peck Attack at the beginning. But having some clue, Terrance thought of a solution.
In the end, Terrance decided to try combining Natural Gift and Hidden Power, utilizing the Dragon-type power within the Aguav Berry to assist Swablu in adapting to the Dragon-type Hidden Power.
Although it is unclear whether it has had any effect, now Swablu is very proficient in using Hidden Power. At this moment, Hidden Power had become Swablu's greatest trump card.
"Shall we continue fighting?" Terrance asked hesitantly. Lately, Swablu seemed to enjoy fighting a lot. In this area, apart from a few powerful Pokémon, it has had encounters with almost all others, and with Terrance, the Breeder, handling the aftermath, there weren't many major conflicts. Instead, they even made quite a few friends.
"Chirp~" It confirmed with a chirp, showing strong fighting spirit.
"Chirp~ Chirp~"
Hmm? Terrance was astonished.
"You want to challenge Seviper?" Terrance was taken aback. He recalled the promise he made to Swablu in the beginning, that it wouldn't be weaker than Seviper when it grows up. He didn't expect Swablu to remember it until now.
"You are really willing to give it a try?" Terrance smiled. Although Seviper's level may be higher than Swablu's, with a Trainer's guidance, they should be able to give it a try as Swablu has improved a lot.
"Chirp~ Chirp~"
The sunlight overhead was intense, but Terrance and Swablu were tirelessly traversing this forest.
After the encounter with Lotad, it wasn't the st time Terrance and the others faced Seviper. In this forest, it was inevitable to come across various Pokémon, but when encountering Pokémon like Seviper, they mostly chose to avoid them.
There have been a few occasions where they witnessed battles between Seviper and its arch-rival, Zangoose, in different locations.
But if there's one thing that left Terrance feeling helpless, it would be the battle between Swablu and Geodude on Mt. Chimney.
At that time, Swablu didn't know Hidden Power, and its only remaining move, Natural Gift, had little effect on Geodude. In the end, Swablu and Terrance had no choice but to abandon the battle and run away dejectedly.
With the test coming to an end, Swablu was looking forward to battling Seviper, and Terrance also doesn't want to leave behind any regrets.
So, after returning to their residence and making some preparations, Terrance took some medicines he had made himself and prepared for a full-on battle against Seviper.
"Let's go!" Fully armed, Terrance and Swablu embark on their journey to find Seviper. Seviper's whereabouts were unpredictable, but Terrance and the others had been active in this area frequently and have had a few encounters with it, gaining some understanding of Seviper's favorite locations.
There was still plenty of time until sunset, giving them enough time to search for Seviper. Although they need to be cautious while walking through the forest, Swablu and Terrance have gained some confidence in facing danger.
Two hours ter,
"Rustle…Rustle..."
"Rustle…Rustle…"
The sound of rustling grass reached Terrance's ears, and a long figure immediately caught their attention.
"Found you, Seviper!" Two hours is not a short time, and they are somewhat tired from searching. However, upon seeing Seviper, they immediately become energized.
"Hiss~?" Seviper narrowed its eyes menacingly, not understanding why they weren't fleeing this time.
Fighting against Seviper is not as troublesome as battling other Pokémon. Terrance hadn't even requested a battle, yet Seviper had already assumed an attacking stance.
Terrance stepped back, leaving the stage to Swablu.
[Author Note: Since this is a fanfic, it will intersect with the original work's storyline. Moreover, this story follows the XY/Z storyline, so feel free to enjoy reading it.]
Chapter 33 *Title Hidden*
"Go, Swablu! Let me see your progress!"
Seviper, the Fang Snake Pokémon, has a very aggressive personality.
Seeing the tiny Swablu wanting to battle him, Seviper immediately opened its rge mouth in rage and went for a bite. Its sharp fangs glistened with red light, and the razor-sharp tail bde grinded against the rock, emitting a hint of ferociousness. From its appearance, it can be seen that it is far from being a gentle creature.
"Dodge!!! And be careful of its tail!"
The bde-shaped tail that can secrete deadly poison is Seviper's best weapon, and its agile and sharp tail is its best weapon against Zangoose.
"Shaaa!!!" Seviper missed its target Swablu and became even more angry. An ear-piercing screech erupted out from its mouth, causing Terrance to cover his ears. However, using sound against Swablu was a mistake on Seviper's part. Under Terrance's command, Swablu countered with a sound that was just as loud, if not louder, effectively overpowering the screech.
"Agility, Peck attack!!"
White light emanated from Swablu as it skillfully avoided Seviper's wild swing of its poisonous tail. At the same time, it pecked forcefully at Seviper's head, causing it to cry out in pain.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Terrance continued shouting, "Fury Attack!"
Swablu's small and agile body became its greatest asset in the battle against Seviper. The enraged Seviper, having been struck by Peck attack, spat out Haze, obscuring Terrance and Swablu's vision.
"Haze..." Terrance, wanting to see the current situation, helplessly gave the command, "Fly higher."
"Hoo~~~!" Swablu's light blue body emerged from the Haze and soared into the sky, gaining a slight advantage. However, shortly after Swablu took flight, a stream of venom followed closely from the Haze. If Terrance hadn't been observing the situation inside Haze, the venom would have hit Swablu in mid-flight.
"Swablu, while in the air, use Hidden Power! Attack Haze with all your might!"
Upon hearing the command, Swablu immediately spat out a blue aura, striking directly at the Haze and causing a ripple effect that dispersed it. However, inside the Haze, Seviper seemed unaffected.
Without wasting any more time to think, Terrance immediately ordered the combination of Cotton Guard and Feather Dance to hinder Seviper. Faced with the swarming white cotton feathers, Seviper became even more irritated.
As Seviper appeared to be trapped by the feathers, Terrance's eyes lit up, and he continued instructing, "Use Hidden Power again!"
Swablu timed its moves accurately. Ignoring the feathers entangling Seviper, Swablu's blue-purple Hidden Power struck directly at Seviper's head, yielding excellent results.
Watching Seviper's dazed expression, Swablu immediately let out a joyful cry, as if cheering for its own victory. However, just then, Seviper shook its head and emitted an even more furious Growl. Its crimson eyes, filled with anger, gred at Swablu, catching the unsuspecting Swablu, still immersed in joy, off guard. Paralysis! Swablu's body went limp, and it lost bance and slowly fell from the sky.
"This is... Gre!" Terrance's heart skipped a beat as he witnessed the scene, realizing his carelessness. The battle was far from over, but Swablu had rexed prematurely and was struck by the opponent's move!
This Seviper... Gre...
"Are you okay, Swablu?!" Terrance hurriedly ran over, scooping Swablu up in his arms while reaching for Paralyze Heal medicine.
"Chirp~ Chirp~" Swablu let out a gentle cry, and Terrance could tell that Swablu was not in a good condition at the moment. The Paralysis caused by Gre had a significant impact on the young Swablu.
"Found it!!" Terrance excimed with joy as he retrieved a bottle of medicine. He immediately administered it to Swablu, and only when he saw Swablu's expression easing did he breathe a sigh of relief.
However, at that moment, a dark shadow crawled up behind Terrance, emitting a hissing sound. Terrance turned around and saw Seviper with its mouth wide open, staring directly at him—
"Bang~" Seviper's thick tail swung towards Terrance, sending him flying. The intense pain made Terrance groan, but in order to protect Swablu, he quickly shielded it in his arms, flipped his body, and slid a long distance along the ground on his back.
"Are you okay... Swablu." The pain caused a noticeable change in Terrance's expression. As he watched Seviper approaching again, Terrance clenched his teeth and said, "Swablu, try your best to fly up."
Swablu hadn't fully recovered from the Paralysis yet, so now was not a good time to face Seviper.
On the other side, Seviper showed no signs of stopping and continued to gre ferociously at them, ready to unch another attack.
"Bang!!!" A stream of venom flew towards them once again. Terrance quickly rolled with Swablu, narrowly avoiding it.
"Chirp~~~~"
At this moment...
The numb sensation gradually subsided, and Swablu's consciousness became clearer. It also realized the danger they were in and broke free from Terrance's embrace, taking flight!
"Chirp!!!!"
In that instant, Terrance and Seviper' gazes were fixated on Swablu.
As Terrance watched Swablu take to the sky, he didn't believe that Swablu intended to flee.
"If I remember correctly... both Swablu and Altaria are proud Pokémon..."
Once they found a Trainer who can share a deep connection with it—
Setting aside their own pride, they would even risk their life for them, and it was the very essence of Swablu's dignity!
"Chirp!!!!"
"Chirp!!!!"
Circling in the air, Swablu looked at the torn clothes on Terrance's back and let out a mournful cry.
A piercing and anguished sound erupted out, filled with extreme anger and self-bme!
"Chirp!!!!"
"Chirp!!!!"
For the recently hatched Swablu, Terrance had been like its parent, caring for it in every way. But now—
Terrance, in order to protect it, fled in a sorry state, enduring attacks. Though the battles have nothing to do with a Trainer, Terrance had been dragged into it due to his own negligence.
"Chirp~~!"
The residual numb sensation in its nerves only fueled the raging fire within Swablu's heart!
The moment Seviper attacked Terrance, it directly touched upon the taboo in Swablu's heart.
It wanted to make up for its carelessness!
"You've recovered, Swablu..." Terrance stood up calmly, sensing Swablu's emotions as a Trainer. At this moment, what he needed to do was to join Swablu in reciming their dignity!
However, everything that happened next was beyond Terrance's imagination!
Swablu's condition seemed somewhat peculiar!
At this moment, Swablu's consciousness still appeared to be partially clouded. Mixed with angry cries, it resembled a volcano about to erupt—
This is—
Suddenly, Swablu's flying speed increased dramatically, and its entire body emitted a blue-purple fme-like glow. It released a terrifying aura that even Terrance could sense. With a sharp sound, it pierced through the air, soaring at a speed comparable to Agility. Simultaneously, the blue-purple fmes surged throughout its body. Simir to Take Down, this move, Terrance hadn't considered important due to Swablu's small size before. However, at this moment, the fmes propelled Swablu's flight, imbued with killing intent that merged with Swablu's conviction. Witnessing this scene, Terrance was stunned, shouting out in astonishment.
"Dragon... Rush!"
Chapter 33 Awakening: Dragon Rush!
Chapter 34 *Title Hidden*
"Dragon Rush...?!"
As the name of this move escaped his lips, Terrance suddenly felt his mouth go dry... Has it finally comprehended it?
At this moment...
The tiny Swablu had transformed into a blue-purple streak of light, exuding a terrifying aura. The rustling of the grass, stirred by the surging airflow, could be heard faintly. Yet, even so, this scene seemed frozen in Terrance's eyes...
"Bang~"
With a deafening rumbling sound, a massive dust cloud rose, instantly snapping Terrance back to reality.
Swablu...
Terrance hurriedly ran forward, searching for Swablu.
But when he clearly saw the situation before him, Terrance gasped and wore an expression of disbelief.
"Did... Swablu do this?"
Seviper, struck by the Dragon Rush, was sent crashing into a small pit, covered in wounds, its gaze unfocused. This time, it had truly lost the ability to stand once again!
This power...
As Terrance was amazed by the destructive power of Dragon Rush, he certainly didn't forget that Swablu was born not long ago!
Perhaps this move isn't the most powerful, but for a little fellow who's less than a month old... It's simply an unimaginably heavy-hitting move!
Master Victor's premonition seems to have come true!
Watching Seviper fall into a small pit, suddenly, Terrance remembered that he still had something important to do. It wasn't the time to daydream!
"Swablu—"
Swablu attacked Seviper with such tremendous force, so how is Swablu?!
Terrance anxiously called out to Swablu again.
Lingering near the pit, Terrance leaped over Seviper and, disregarding the pain in his body and hands, continued to dig the small mound with his bare hands.
"Swoosh~~ Swoosh~"
When he pushed aside the mound, he saw Swablu plunged headfirst into the mound under the enormous force of momentum. Seeing the unconscious Swablu, Terrance quickly retrieved his backpack and searched for any emergency medicine…
Although Dragon Rush has great power, for the current Swablu, it's just as harmful as Take Down is to its body, the extent of which is immeasurable.
Slowly feeding Swablu the pulp juice of Oran Berry, Terrance also took out Potions, Vitamins and other medicines.
Although Swablu awakened the Dragon Rush that he had been waiting for long, Terrance now couldn't find joy in it. For a Trainer stranded in the wilderness, injuries that impede mobility are the most fatal.
Just like the Swablu in front of him.
Even after using various emergency medicines, there was still no sign of improvement.
Terrance's heart sank.
"Being a Trainer is not as simple as I imagined."
In Pokémon battles, if all uncontrolble factors are not fully considered, it's solely the Trainer's fault.
"The overexertion is too severe, and it's difficult to recover in a short time with just medicines..."
Shh~ Shh~ Shh~
Shh~ Shh~ Shh~
And at this moment, a familiar sound came from the bushes, making Terrance's already sinking heart tense up again.
Slowly turning his head, Terrance saw another Seviper crawling towards them with an aggressive and unfriendly gaze. This immediately calmed him down and sharpened his focus.
…....
…....
"Did it come here attracted by the noise..."
In the bushes, Seviper's sharp tail swung with a deadly threat, causing Terrance's pupils to contract. He quickly picked up Swablu.
Now that Swablu had lost consciousness and another Seviper was approaching, it was undoubtedly a death sentence for Terrance. He had been in the Mt. Chimney forest for a month, and not a single day had been as dangerous as today.
Swablu's condition was highly unstable at the moment. If it suffered further damage, the situation would undoubtedly worsen… Thinking of this, Terrance's mood became bitter.
Escape was the only option Terrance could think of now.
As for Seviper... who was pursuing relentlessly with a fierce gaze. Being a hunter, it seemed to become even more excited on seeing Terrance escaping.
Touching his pocket, Terrance opened a small bottle with one hand, but seeing the small amount of residue left, his expression darkened and he immediately threw it on the ground.
"It's okay... in that direction... there's a trap I dug in advance."
It was a trap made by Terrance that could only be triggered by pulling a lever located on a tree trunk a little distance away. Given Terrance and Seviper's speed, there was a slim chance it could be used. However, upon arrival, Terrance saw that the trap had already been destroyed by other Pokémon, and his heart sank to the bottom.
The ample preparations he had originally made became incredibly useless in the unpredictable wilderness where anything could happen.
He came to challenge Seviper with full confidence but was met with a series of misfortunes that left him disheartened.
...
...
Fp~~
In a moment of carelessness, Terrance was tripped by a vine and fell down. In order to protect Swablu, he bore the brunt of all the damage, twisting his foot in the process.
As the time for their journey was drawing to a close, and Swablu had also comprehended its ultimate move Dragon Rush, marking a perfect start to their growth. However, this situation has left him speechless.
"I thought becoming a Breeder and a Trainer would be a breeze for me..."
"It seems I still need more training. A competent Trainer wouldn't be at a loss in a situation like this."
Regretfully, Terrance tapped Swablu's forehead, attempting to awaken it for a brief moment, giving it a chance to fly away, even if…..it could only do so on its own.
At least as a human, Terrance wouldn't end up in too tragic a state under Seviper's attack.
Unfortunately... Swablu still showed no sign of waking up.
With its red eyes gring at Terrance, Seviper had already opened its mouth, revealing sharp fangs and assuming an attacking posture.
Taking a deep breath... Terrance's hand searched the ground and he grabbed a nearby rock...
Preparing for a final resistance.
Gripping the stone tightly... Terrance narrowed his eyes and smiled at Seviper. "Come on, let me try my hand at battling a Pokémon."
Perhaps there are truly talented humans who can suppress some Pokémon based on their physique and special abilities, but that certainly wasn't the case for Terrance, who was burdened with a young boy's body.
Nevertheless, at this point, he had no other choice. A Trainer personally engaging in a duel with a Pokémon may sound ridiculous, but how many Trainers haven't experienced it? It is an indispensable step in gradually transforming from a rookie.
Only through firsthand experience can a Trainer comprehend the uncertainty of nature. Humans and Pokémon in the wild face the possibility of anything happening. Even if several Seviper were to appear again right now, Terrance couldn't compin. He wasn't a god, and not everything would develop as smoothly as he had hoped. It was an inherent rule of the nature.
For nature, a Trainer is still very insignificant. If one doesn't understand this and does not always hold a sense of awe toward nature, they can never become a top-tier Trainer. Waving the sharp stone in his hand, Terrance propped himself up, gazing at the approaching Seviper.
Regardless of which Trainer is it, they must have had moments of being dejected and depressed in the wilderness...
Terrance was already prepared to give it his all, even at great cost, to drive away Seviper. However, at that moment—a resounding, melodious, and soul-cleansing calm voice reached his ears, almost making Terrance believe he had stepped into heaven.
The familiar voice triggered countless memories in Terrance's mind, and finally, a glimmer of hope appeared in his eyes and a name surged into Terrance's heart.
Altaria... has arrived!
Chapter 34 Meeting Altaria again
Chapter 35 The test ends
Altaria
Swablu's mother has always been watching over them!
Looking at the still unconscious Swablu, Terrance's thoughts surged, confirming many things: "I should have known. Your mother could never have stopped protecting you, and even Master Victor must have left something behind to keep me safe..."
The feeling of being watched that he had once experienced didn't seem unfounded after all.
Every move and action of his and Swablu seemed to be under observation.
Yes, he could understand.
As a sense of relief washed over him, Terrance snapped back to reality, only to find that Seviper had been frozen solid by a bst of extreme ice, transforming into an ice sculpture, motionless before them.
Ice Beam?
….Raising his head, Terrance looked at Altaria gracefully circling in the sky, the true ruler of Mt. Chimney. For a moment, he didn't know what to say.
Looking at the unconscious Swablu, Terrance had nothing to say at this point.
In his eyes, all of this was his fault as a Trainer.
As a melodic voice resounded, Terrance and the others seemed to be bathed in Refresh, washing away all fatigue.
The effects of the medicine... gradually began to take effect.
Five minutes ter.
Swablu slowly opened its eyes and looked around in confusion at everything around it.
"Are you okay, Swablu?" Terrance asked immediately as Swablu regained consciousness. Upon seeing that Terrance was unharmed, Swablu's inner turmoil seemed to gradually calm down.
Letting out a soft cry, Swablu signaled to Terrance not to worry.
However, not long after, Swablu saw the graceful figure soaring in the sky. The palpable throbbing in its bloodline caused Swablu's gaze to lock onto it, rendering it somewhat dazed.
The connection and resonance in the bloodline was clearer and more pronounced in Pokémon than in humans.
Swablu looked at the figure in the sky with a muddled mind, feeling lost and unsure of what to do.
"It's your mother." Terrance lowered his head slightly, looking at Swablu.
"She saved you, saved us."
Swablu could naturally understand Terrance's words, but all of this was difficult for it to accept all at once.
After all, it had been living with Terrance ever since it was born...
...
...
An hour ter...
Following Altaria, Terrance arrived at Mt. Chimney.
Terrance was somewhat worried at this moment, afraid that since he had failed to do his duty and put Swablu in danger, he wouldn't gain Altaria's approval.
"Chirp~"
"Chirp~"
Seeing the worried Terrance, Swablu softly chirped, comforting Terrance instead.
"Let's go." With a bitter smile, Terrance followed closely behind Altaria, slowly climbing Mt. Chimney.
"Thud!"
"Thud!"
A stone fell, watching this dangerous scene, Terrance didn't dare to be careless and climbed carefully.
Another hour ter, Terrance arrived at a secluded spot on the mountain peak.
"This is..."
The mountain peak was shrouded in mist and clouds, making it difficult to discern that it was a volcanic terrain. It was located in a remote area and resembled transpnted vegetation, grassnds, and enormous nests, giving Terrance several illusions.
"Is this still Mt. Chimney?"
Altaria.
The owner of this pce had arrived early, waiting for Terrance. It had been staying here for a long time.
With tense eyes fixed on Altaria, Terrance's heart couldn't help but thump rapidly.
Terrance had never anticipated this situation, caught completely off guard without any preparation. He didn't even know how to begin or what to say. All he could do was maintain a resolute gaze as he met Altaria's eyes…..
"I..." After a long silence, Terrance was about to speak when suddenly, thunderous rumbling sounds came from the sky. Not only Terrance, but Altaria also turned its head and looked over.
As a loud, piercing cry resounded through the sky, a massive flying vehicle emerged, accompanied by a flying figure. Its feathers were a combination of yellow and white, adorned with magnificent wings. The contrasting bck and white colors along its beak created a striking contrast that left Terrance momentarily stunned.
Master Victor's Pidgeot?
That...
The helicopter descended slowly, nding on the mountaintop. Master Victor slowly stepped out with a smile, while ripples suddenly emanated from the surrounding space. A Pokémon resembling a fox, with a spoon in its each hand and a brown and yellow body, appeared out of thin air before Terrance and the others.
"It's been a while, Terrance."
"And Altaria, your appearance signifies that the test is completely over, right? Akazam has already informed me of the details through Telepathy. So, what are your thoughts? Is the effort Terrance and Swablu put together over the past month enough to gain your recognition?"
Master Victor rarely exhibited such authority as he stared directly at Altaria, waiting for its response.
"So...it was not just Altaria who was observing from the dark. It seems Master Victor's Akazam has been by my side all along."
"But what about the test result? There's not much time left before the one-month deadline, and now Altaria has appeared ahead of schedule due to an accident. Will this affect Altaria's recognition?"
Terrance also cast a hopeful gaze towards Altaria.
He was extremely nervous at this moment. The one-month journey with Swablu had already fostered a deep emotional bond between them, something that couldn't be achieved by simply capturing a Pokémon by the roadside. Moreover, there was a trust that had been nurtured over time, which was an inherent advantage they shared.
For some reason, it loves quietly climbing onto people's heads and pretending to be a hat.
It has wings that resemble cotton, and when it gently rests on someone's head, it looks like a fluffy cotton ball.
Swablu possesses cotton-like, lightweight, and fluffy wings. This Pokémon is not afraid of humans. When it nds on someone's head, it looks like a fluffy cotton hat.
From the scene of its birth until now...
Even Swablu appeared to have grasped something, casting an equally eager gaze towards Altaria.
After a long while...
With a resounding cry, Altaria fpped its wings and gazed at Swablu, then turned its gaze towards Terrance.
"Leave Swablu here. Let's go," Master Victor pulled Terrance aside and spoke first.
"But—" Terrance began to speak, his mouth slightly agape, unable to comprehend.
"Let's give some time to Swablu and Altaria. Whether you can gain approval will depend on their intentions. And the mother and child also need to spend time together," Master Victor shook his head and said to Terrance.
"I understand."
Terrance nodded and gently released Swablu, speaking to Altaria, "I will return in a day."
"Wait for me....I will be back one day ter." Terrance gently caressed the anxious Swablu, offering words of comfort. He had developed a deep bond with Swablu, who had always been by his side. However, Terrance couldn't ignore the retionship between Swablu and Altaria, the Pokémon's mother.
Reluctantly letting go of Swablu, Terrance and Master Victor finally boarded the helicopter together.
Finally, followed by Altaria's melodious cry, the helicopter slowly ascended and gradually disappeared into the clouds and mist.
