Chapter 251: The Council of the Gods

Chapter 251: The Council of the Gods

"Why hasn’t the God King of Destruction responded?" Poseidon was puzzled. "Does he want me to kneel and beg him?"

Thinking about his own divine position, he realized that while the idea was a bit undignified, it might not be completely out of the question.

As he pondered his next words, he noticed the old Asura God signaling to him with a look that said, “Step aside and let me handle this.”

  Poseidon promptly shut his mouth.

“Destruction, since the matter on Douluo Star has been resolved, isn’t it time to grant us the divine positions? We know you’re busy, so once we’ve received them, we won’t trouble you further. Such a great favor, both Poseidon and I will remember it well. Should you need any assistance in the future, we’ll be there to support you.”

The old Asura God’s words were a delicate bance of firmness and diplomacy.

The beginning conveyed a subtle hint of firmness, showing they wouldn’t be easily pushed around. The middle and end softened, expressing that they weren’t ungrateful and would repay the favor in due course.

In the Divine Realm, the gods weren’t a unified front, and the God Kings had their own factions. This statement could be seen as an open show of allegiance to the God King of Destruction.

  Finally.

The God King of Destruction turned around, revealing his pale, bloodless face to the Asura God and Poseidon.

“Can you see anything unusual about my face?” he asked cryptically.

  The Asura God was confused.

Poseidon’s eyes lit up. Is he that vain? he thought. Does he want us to compliment him? He ventured cautiously, “Handsome? Dashing?”

  Destruction God King: "(“▔□▔)"

“Can’t you see that I’m not in a normal state?” he said, exasperated.

These two really had no sense. Did they want him to recount his humiliation on Douluo Continent for their satisfaction?

Poseidon and the Asura God felt their faces flush with embarrassment.

They’d been so preoccupied with securing their divine positions that they hadn’t noticed anything unusual about the God King of Destruction.

Now that he’d pointed it out, they finally saw it…

  Indeed.

His face was unnaturally pale, like a lifeless corpse without a hint of color.

The Asura God let out a startled gasp. “You… you were injured in the Douluo realm?”

Poseidon was equally shocked. For a god of his rank to be injured in the lower realm was unheard of.

“Yes, it was as unexpected for me as it is for you…” the God King of Destruction sighed. “Since you’re concerned about your divine positions, let me inform you that the inheritor of the Asura God position has been killed by the inheritor of the Sea God position…”

Poseidon and the Asura God froze, Σ(っ°Д°;)っ.

The Asura God’s position was higher in rank than the Sea God’s, yet his successor had been defeated?

For some reason, Poseidon felt a strange satisfaction bubbling up. “Who would’ve thought my inheritor was that strong?”

“What? Proud of yourself?” The Asura God, feeling somewhat bitter, scoffed coldly.

Poseidon put on an awkward smile, “I was just speaking off the cuff; don’t take it seriously.”

“Was it really the Sea God’s inheritor who wounded you so badly?”

At that moment, the gentle voice of the Goddess of Life chimed in.

“Yes,” the God King of Destruction nodded frankly.

He had already reached a breaking point and saw no need to hide anything anymore.

  The truth would benefit everyone.

“Did this person somehow merge the positions of the Sea God and Asura God?” the Asura God specuted.

In his view, only such a combination would expin how the God King of Destruction could be injured.

The God King of Destruction shook his head slightly. “Not entirely correct.”

  The gods were baffled.

What kind of strange answer was that?

“Don’t rush. I have a major revetion for all of you. Once you hear me out, everything will make sense.” The God King of Destruction fixed his gaze on the Asura God. “I hope you can handle this.”

  The Asura God: “??”

“It’s alright, just say whatever you need to say,” he replied confidently.

  “Your divine position is gone.”

  “What?”

The Asura God was thunderstruck, his mind going bnk.

The God King of Destruction’s words hit him like a direct strike.

“The inheritor of the Sea God position didn’t refine the Asura God’s position; instead, he destroyed it, absorbing the pure divine energy to reach the God King level himself…”

“And because he ascended through his own potential, his power is extraordinary. Even as a newly ascended God King, I couldn’t suppress him. He also possesses an ultra-divine weapon from the Abyssal Pne, with terrifying might.”

“I couldn’t compete and was severely injured by him. I had to abandon my ultra-divine weapon, the Scepter of Destruction, to barely escape back to the Divine Realm.”

Now that he had started, the God King of Destruction revealed everything he’d experienced.

  And yet.

  After hearing his account.

The Goddess of Life, Poseidon, and the Asura God were left utterly speechless.

  “His talent is truly astounding.”

“Creating a God King position independently—this is terrifying…”

The voices of the Goddess of Life and Poseidon were filled with shock.

The old Asura God’s expression shifted rapidly.

Despite his shock, his heart ached. With the Asura God position destroyed, didn’t that mean he’d never be able to return to the God King level?

“Damn it, how did I end up with such an incompetent successor? Not only was he a traitorous fool, but he got himself killed, and even the divine position was lost…”

“If he didn’t have the strength, why show off? Now look, the position is gone, and the Asura God no longer exists in this world…”

Although Tang San was already dead, he was getting thoroughly scolded in the old Asura God’s mind.

“While Qin Xiao’s strength is formidable, it doesn’t surpass that of the Dragon God,” the God King of Destruction assured, seeing the gods’ tense expressions. “I can confidently say that as long as two God Kings join forces, there’s a seventy percent chance of suppressing Qin Xiao. If three God Kings act together, the success rate is as high as ninety-nine percent.”

The Goddess of Life asked gently, “So you’re considering unching a divine war?”

  “What else?” Destruction responded.

“But I’m concerned about the destruction it would bring. Against such a powerful foe, why can’t we turn him into an ally? I don’t want a repeat of the disaster the Dragon God brought upon the Divine Realm.”

“Life, you’re too compassionate…” The God King of Destruction shook his head, his gaze hardened with determination. “There’s no turning back now. Once a fight with Qin Xiao began, any chance of reconciliation vanished. If you need further reason, just look at me…”

With those words, the God King of Destruction dramatically pulled open his robes, revealing his scarred body.

The Goddess of Life and the others noticed severe wounds, some still bleeding profusely.

“Tell me, how am I supposed to swallow this humiliation?” he asked coldly, pointing to his injuries.

  The other gods fell silent.

They knew that, with Destruction’s temperament, he wouldn’t let this go so easily.

This blood debt could only be repaid with blood. There would be no peace between the God King of Destruction and Qin Xiao; only one of them would survive.

The Goddess of Life spoke up, “Summon the gods. Let’s convene a council.”

“Very well.” The God King of Destruction nodded lightly and gnced over at the old Asura God and Poseidon. “Didn’t you hear? We’re summoning a council of the gods.”

“Yes, we heard,” Poseidon replied naturally.

“Then why are you still standing here?”

“Is there a problem?” Poseidon asked.

“There most certainly is,” the God King of Destruction said coldly. “You two no longer have divine positions; you’re mere attendants now and have no right to attend this council.”

“Wait, what…” Poseidon was momentarily speechless.

This was adding insult to injury, wasn’t it?

Did he really think they were easy targets? Even the calmest person had their limits, and Poseidon was on the verge of shing out.

“Poseidon, let it go…” The old Asura God reached out to stop him. “The God King of Destruction is right. We’re not eligible to attend this council. We may have once held divine positions, but the moment we lost them, we ceased to be true gods…”

“According to the rules of the Divine Realm, we’re not only barred from the council but have no right to even inquire about its contents.”

“Only someone who served as the Divine Realm’s enforcer could be so well-versed in its rules,” the God King of Destruction scoffed, giving them a mocking smile.

The old Asura God sighed, shaking his head as he led Poseidon out of the Hall of Destruction.

In that moment, his figure seemed to age, his spirit crushed.

Poseidon calmed down, realizing that despite the resentment building within him, he dared not express it.

Time had changed many things, and nothing was as it once was.

  Dong... Dong... Dong... Dong...

Shortly after the two departed, the entire Divine Realm reverberated with the deep tolling of a bell—nine times in total—sending a wave of tension across all divine beings.

This was the highest alert signal in the Divine Realm, representing an imminent threat to the realm's survival. Such a severe warning had not sounded since the chaos of the Dragon God’s rampage.

“It’s from the Temple of Destruction. Let’s go and see what’s happening!”

In that moment, the gods couldn’t sit idly by. A foreboding sense of danger swept over them, and they all rushed toward the Temple of Destruction.

  Swish, swish, swish.

In an instant, the gods descended upon the Temple of Destruction like falling stars.

  “Master, Greed requests an audience.”

Among the crowd, a sharp voice rang out.

The gods turned to see a small, wiry man with an unusually rge head and piercing, ghostly eyes. His aura exuded a sense of oppression and madness.

It was none other than the God of Greed, one of the Seven Deadly Sins!

Seeing this, the other gods quickly averted their gazes, wary of this figure who was notoriously difficult to deal with.

But before Greed’s voice had fully faded, another voice echoed:

  “Master, Wrath requests an audience!”

The God of Wrath appeared next—a tall, thin man shrouded in a flowing orange robe. His powerful aura was equally imposing.

  “Master, Sloth requests an audience!”

  “Master, Pride requests an audience!”

One by one, voices continued to call out as the other Gods of the Seven Deadly Sins arrived.

To the gods gathered, the presence of all seven First-Css Gods was a rare and awe-inspiring sight.

However, today’s gathering included more than just the Seven Deadly Sins.

In the void above, several figures descended, each emanating a unique elemental energy.

Seeing these figures, the gods felt another wave of shock; these newcomers were also powerful First-Css Gods.

At the forefront stood two figures—a man in bck robes and a woman in a white gown, their hands csped tightly. They were the renowned Gods of Darkness and Light in the Divine Realm.

Behind them were two others who also stood as a pair.

One was a red-haired man, exuding an aura of scorching heat, and beside him walked a woman in a flowing blue dress. Her beauty wasn’t stunning, but she emanated a gentle, soothing presence like water.

These were the Gods of Fire and Water, two of the Seven Elemental Gods.

Following them were the God of Wind, dressed in green; the God of Space, in a gray robe; and the God of Earth, cd in yellow.

Each of the Seven Elemental Gods was marked by their distinctively colored attire.

“Fourteen of the Divine Realm’s eighteen First-Css Gods are here. Will the others come as well?”

Someone murmured curiously, momentarily forgetting why the God King had summoned them as they looked forward to seeing more First-Css Gods.

“Wait! There are two more powerful auras approaching!”

At that moment, someone excimed, drawing everyone’s attention skyward, where two beams of light—one bck, one white—hurtled toward them at incredible speed.

One moment, they were on the horizon; the next, they appeared right before the crowd, as if they had teleported.

Gradually, the figures within the lights became visible.

The white light revealed a woman in a pristine white gown, whose purity seemed so absolute that it dispelled any unclean thoughts. Her dress was fwless, two strands of bck hair falling over her shoulders, her rge, bright eyes filled with a gentle radiance. Her ethereal presence was like that of an untouched white lotus.

Within the bck light was a young man in dark robes. He was strikingly handsome, yet his eyes held an unsettling gleam, radiating a strange and captivating charm.

As the two stood before the Temple of Destruction, a profound silence fell over the crowd.

Then, a tidal wave of reverence swept through the crowd as thousands of gods called out in unison, “We greet the God Kings!”

They bowed as one, even the Seven Deadly Sins and the Seven Elemental Gods showing their respect.

Without a doubt, these two were the Divine Realm’s st two God Kings: the God of Kindness and the God of Evil, also known as the Kindness God King and the Evil God King.

Unmoved by the gods' reverence, the Evil God King stood stoically.

The Kindness God King, however, smiled warmly, her gentle voice resonating across the gathering, “No need for formalities.”

  Boom!

Just as the Kindness and Evil God Kings nded, the grand doors of the Temple of Destruction swung open.

The voice of the God King of Destruction echoed from within, “I invite the God of Kindness, the God of Evil, and all the High Gods to enter the temple for a council.”
