Chapter 252: Disagreement

  Chapter 252: Disagreement

The term "High God" referred to First-Css Gods.

After inviting the Gods of Kindness, Evil, and the other First-Css Gods, the God King of Destruction remained silent, indicating that only those at the First-Css level or above were qualified to attend this council of the gods.

  This division was normal.

Even among gods, factions existed. Each God King had the support of several First-Css Gods, and each First-Css God had the backing of many Second-Css Gods, who, in turn, had their own followers among the Third-Css Gods.

Technically, the God King of Destruction could decide the council’s outcome simply with the consent of the Gods of Kindness and Evil. However, in the interest of fairness and transparency, he had invited many First-Css Gods to witness the proceedings.

The Temple of Destruction, typically empty, now housed a long conference table, which the God King of Destruction had prepared in advance.

He and the Goddess of Life stood at one end, watching as the Gods of Kindness and Evil entered hand in hand. Destruction’s pale, stern face managed a faint smile. “Please, take your seats.”

He and the Goddess of Life sat side by side at one end of the table, across from the Gods of Kindness and Evil.

The Seven Deadly Sins took their seats along Destruction’s side, while the Seven Elemental Gods aligned themselves with the Gods of Kindness and Evil, clearly dispying their respective allegiances.

“What is the urgent matter you’ve called us here for?” asked the God of Evil, directly addressing the God King of Destruction.

The gathering had caused quite a stir in the Divine Realm, and the gods expected a serious expnation from the God King of Destruction.

“Don’t worry,” replied Destruction, “I wouldn’t summon you all here without reason. I’ve called you because a great disaster is looming over our Divine Realm!”

At these words, the gods held their breath, their expressions turning grave.

For something to be considered a camity by a God King, it had to be dire indeed.

“What exactly is going on?” The Goddess of Kindness, her usual gentle demeanor repced with concern, asked, “Have you detected another spatial turbulence near the Divine Realm?”

Long ago, a powerful spatial storm had erupted within the Divine Realm, leaving it severely weakened for millions of years. The thought of facing another catastrophe of that magnitude was chilling, even to a God King.

“No, it’s not a spatial turbulence…” Destruction shook his head slowly.

“So, if it isn’t a spatial turbulence, what else could cause such a disaster?” The God of Evil, visibly relieved, asked.

“What if a new enemy as powerful as the Dragon God has emerged?” Destruction asked in a calm but weighty tone. “An enemy already capable of threatening our Divine Realm—wouldn’t you consider that a disaster?”

“What?” The God of Evil was taken aback, then shook his head in disbelief. “That’s impossible! The Dragon God was a primordial being, created after the universe’s inception. Only those with one of the five original supreme god positions could rival its power. No new god could match that!”

The God of Evil found it hard to believe Destruction’s cim, as it didn’t align with the foundational structure of the Divine Realm. By design, it wasn’t possible for another god to emerge with power on par with the Dragon God.

“Under normal circumstances, I’d agree,” continued the God King of Destruction. “But having witnessed it firsthand, I can tell you that this anomaly exists. As unlikely as it seems, it is true. On Douluo Continent, a being named Qin Xiao has shattered and absorbed the Asura God position, creating his own God King position. I fought him myself and was utterly defeated—I even lost my ultra-divine weapon in the battle…”

  Destruction recounted his recent experience.

Although it was humiliating, he was willing to set aside his pride to ensure the gods fully grasped the threat Qin Xiao posed.

  “Could this really be true?”

“If the God King of Destruction says so, it must be.”

“Forgive me, but even from a God King, I find this hard to believe…”

The gods engaged in heated discussion, especially the Seven Elemental Gods, who voiced strong doubts.

It wasn’t that they distrusted Destruction; rather, they found it too incredible to accept.

Their collective knowledge and experience spanning hundreds of thousands, even millions, of years had never revealed such an occurrence.

After all, divine positions were not just titles—they were supreme treasures born from the creation of the Douluo Divine Realm itself.

The divine positions represented the ws of the world.

If one were destroyed, it would mean the loss of that particur rule in existence. Destroying a divine position was something even the God Kings weren’t supposed to be able to achieve.

“This may sound absurd, but it’s true…” the God King of Destruction replied earnestly, facing the gods’ skepticism.

“But words alone aren’t enough, Destruction. Do you have any evidence?” the Goddess of Kindness asked.

Clearly, she was unwilling to lend her support to either the Seven Elemental Gods or Destruction without solid proof.

“Fine, if you need proof, I’ll give you proof…” Destruction said, rising to his feet. He opened his cloak, revealing his body covered in deep scars.

“These wounds are the evidence. The Goddess of Life offered to heal me earlier, but I refused. I wanted you all to see the proof with your own eyes…”

The God King of Destruction had prepared himself for this. He had preserved his injuries, knowing they would serve as compelling evidence to sway the other gods.

The Seven Elemental Gods fell silent, and the Seven Deadly Sins looked at Destruction’s wounds with bitter resentment.

“That wretched Qin Xiao! He injured our lord like this… truly unforgivable!” they seethed.

The Goddess of Kindness and the God of Evil exchanged a gnce, both frowning slightly.

Destruction noticed their reaction and continued, “I know this may not be enough, but don’t worry—I have another piece of evidence… my memory itself.”

He raised his hand, and a dark light shot into the air, forming a screen in the center of the hall.

The screen showed an image of an endless sea, where two figures, one bck and one purple, cshed repeatedly.

It was the battle between Qin Xiao and the God King of Destruction.

The screen slowed, showing each of their attacks with perfect crity.

The gods watched in stunned silence, realizing the fight was indeed real.

“An incredible fighter… Is our lord actually being overwhelmed?” they murmured, astonished.

The God King of Destruction’s voice cut through their surprise. “Notice each time I’m injured. Compare these blows to the scars on my body, and you’ll see they’re identical.”

“Ah… I see,” the gods murmured, momentarily taken aback.

So, this was why Destruction had left his wounds untreated—he had kept them as proof of his cims.

Some of the gods shook their heads in silent admiration. Destruction was indeed a relentless god, willing to use even his own suffering as evidence.

As the voices around him quieted, Destruction donned his cloak again. Instantly, a green light fell upon him, radiating over his body. His pallid complexion regained its color as the Goddess of Life used her powers to heal his wounds.

Destruction exhaled a sigh of relief, feeling the weakness drain away. He rexed back into his seat. “Now, perhaps we can discuss this matter seriously.”

The Goddess of Kindness nodded slowly. “So, what solution do you propose for dealing with this threat?”

“There’s no need for anything complex,” Destruction said, his voice resolute. “A blood debt demands blood repayment. We God Kings will unite to suppress him, and this disaster will be quelled!”

The hatred within Destruction burned bright; only Qin Xiao’s death could bring him peace.

“He’s right!” the God of Wrath from the Seven Deadly Sins bellowed. “This disaster must be stamped out with overwhelming force!”

“Blood for blood!” the God of Pride’s voice was equally cold and unyielding.

“God Kings, we implore you to eradicate him and restore the Divine Realm’s dignity!”

The God of Sloth, no longer his usual id-back self, looked uncharacteristically serious. He not only supported the God of Destruction’s stance but also directed the question to the Goddess of Kindness and the God of Evil, clearly urging them to make a statement.

The Goddess of Kindness and the God of Evil exchanged gnces but remained silent.

"Kindness, Evil, do you have concerns?" the Goddess of Life noticed the two seemed to have other thoughts.

The God of Evil hesitated briefly before finally speaking. "Kindness and I discussed it, and our stance differs from yours…"

"Are you saying you disagree with exterminating this individual?" The God of Destruction’s brows knitted tightly.

The Goddess of Kindness nodded, "Indeed, we do not support immediately attacking this person without first attempting to communicate."

The God of Destruction smmed the table, his expression fierce. "He hurt me like this—what’s there to discuss?"

Kindness disregarded Destruction's outrage and calmly expined her viewpoint. "This individual, while not at Dragon God's level, is immensely powerful. In a head-on confrontation, the losses we’d suffer might be too great. Bringing him into the divine ranks would be the best option."

Destruction’s other hand hit the table. "He wounded me, yet you still consider inviting him into the realm? He’s already an enemy of the divine—making peace with him is absurd."

The God of Evil intervened, his tone steady. "Destruction, don’t be hasty. Kindness’s intentions are for the good of the divine realm. If we can avoid war, that would be ideal, wouldn’t it?"

Destruction scoffed. "Of course, you’d be pleased, but don’t expect me to be. Qin Xiao is defiant; he took the Shura divine position, using it to ascend. That alone viotes the divine rules. Yet you’re inclined to make exceptions for him?"

Destruction was clearly trying to persuade the gods to join him in eradicating Qin Xiao.

"Which is precisely why we should avoid conflict," the God of Evil insisted. "With Shura’s absence, adding a powerful god could restore bance."

Destruction’s face remained cold and unyielding, but Kindness offered a proposal: "What if I go to Qin Xiao and speak with him? If he poses a true threat to our realm, Evil and I will join forces with you to eliminate him. But if he agrees to join us, will you set aside past grievances?"

Destruction leaped to his feet, exasperated. "This suggestion is outrageous! You don’t see the danger—Qin Xiao may well agree to your proposal."

Kindness looked surprised, "Isn’t that a good thing?"

Destruction snapped, unable to contain himself, "Good? Not in the slightest!" His patience was exhausted, his frustration boiling over.

"Enough!" Evil's voice was icy, his protectiveness evident as he gred at Destruction. "Since we can't reach an agreement, let’s settle this with a vote. I propose we reject Destruction’s call for aggression and pursue peace with Qin Xiao."

  "I agree," Kindness immediately supported.

"I oppose!" Destruction’s stance was firm.

The gaze of Kindness and Evil shifted to the Goddess of Life. Her thoughts leaned towards Kindness and Evil’s proposal. Preventing unnecessary bloodshed was a benefit to the realm, and restoring bance with a new God King was a wise choice.

Destruction's eyes locked onto Life, knowing her stance was crucial. He tried to soften his demeanor, speaking in a gentle tone. "Life, don’t be hesitant—feel free to voice your true thoughts."
