Chapter 16: I Accidentally Made the Goddess of Jealousy Blush and Now the Universe is in Danger

Three days into his "Romance Ban," Kaito thought he was doing fine.

  He avoided heart-shaped food.

He refused back massages from enchanted pillows.

And he definitely did not look at Amoria when she stepped out of the cloud-shaped hot tub wrapped in a towel made of stardust.

But on the fourth day, he made a terrible mistake:

  He complimented Jealina.

  Accidentally.

It started when the three gods (because of course Amoria invited Jealina to “mediate their romantic restrictions like a divine babysitter”) ended up at a cosmic board game café in the Neutral Realm—a pce where no emotions were allowed to spike.

Kaito, trying to avoid awkward silence, casually said:

“You know, Jealina, you look kinda cool when you’re not yelling.”

  Time stopped.

Jealina’s eyes widened. A slight green hue rose to her cheeks. “I—I what?”

Amoria dropped her cup. “Kaito… no.”

  > [WARNING: Goddess of Jealousy has experienced an emotional fluctuation.]

  > [Jealousy Levels… Spiking.]

Suddenly, her divine aura began to spiral out of control. Pnets within a three-light-year radius began spinning in reverse. Moons crashed into each other. Somewhere, a couple broke up over misunderstood emojis.

Jealina clutched her chest. “Why does it feel… warm?”

Kaito panicked. “Okay, okay, everyone breathe! I was just being polite!”

  But it was too te.

  > [Emergency Alert: The Universe is entering a state of Emotional Instability.]

The skies turned neon green. Lightning shaped like question marks rained from above. A comet flew past with the words “IT’S COMPLICATED” trailing behind it.

Amoria groaned. “Kaito… you flirted so hard you made Jealina blush. You broke the entire universal emotional scale.”

Jealina, still frozen, muttered, “No one’s… ever said that to me before…”

Kaito scratched his head. “What? That you look cool?”

  She nodded silently.

  A moment of silence.

Then Amoria spped her forehead. “Welp, guess we’re going on a universe-saving quest now.”

  Kaito blinked. “What?”

Amoria pointed to the sky, where a giant crack formed, leaking raw emotional energy.

Kaito sighed, summoning his divine sandals. “I just wanted to nap this week.”

Amoria smiled. “Too te, Lazy God. Now you’ve got two goddesses, a broken cosmos, and an accidental love triangle to fix.”

Jealina turned, face still burning. “…We’re not calling it a triangle.”
