Chapter 3

The massive 'stag' as it had so named itself rested itself against the giant trees as the hatchling spent a few minutes in silence as they looked eachother over. Until one of the many vines dangling from the rack of saplings above the stag's head curled forward and gently pressed on the little metal pte over the hatchlings chest making it close with a subtle click into pce. "You are Malia, but beyond that you only vaguely remember life before you even had any. Then I hope you find soce in your curiosity. The wonders that young creatures see are a blessing for their eyes only."

Malia in turn simply watched the curling vine as it never occurred to them that the metal pte should or shouldn't be closed, but the repeating pattern across the metal made it look more smooth and reminiscent of the vague memories she thought of. A scaled creature beyond the size of even the newest curiosity they had encountered. Endless overpping diamonds of bck and violet that matched the pattern across their own metal frame. "What I don't know makes me want to understand. So I try to understand."

Resting simirly to the Great White Stag and gently lowering themself down to the dirt while also now looking over the nearby forestry. "Can you tell me about this pce?" Malia's lenses curled to focus on the various surroundings from the smallest animals to the cloud touched treetops. "I am only slowly remembering things that aren't my own, but you seem to know much more."

Lifting the drooping vine that had closed the panel up to gently stroke over the metal head of the hatchling before the stag spoke again. "I believe you to be a dragon, but you do not seem to belong to any natural born ones. You're born of the ground, and yet you hold rot in your heart. If you are as you appear then you would inherit the memories of your forebearers. Time will only tell what you might do with what you piece together from those that came before you. Do not relent should you be pushed away from your wants. As much as I would enjoy to spare your company my nds call, and you should continue to sate your curiosity. Wait too long and you will find yourself stuck in pce as the nds grow over you. Blessings and luck upon you dear Malia."

The Great White Stag simply nodded it's rge head once before slowly raising itself to the heavens once more. Each step gentle and almost soundless despite their massive size. Malia would watch them leave while standing themselves while the form disappeared into the forest as if it never was. While the forest continued to echo with the sounds of the wilds and called the curious hatchling further from their birthpce. A vague memory surfacing and giving them a warm comforting feeling. A mountain dotted with countless caves, burrows, and pits.

Malia's steps left a thin trail as they wandered forward and followed the sun in front of them. The warm light guiding them to the east and out of the forest. Several hours had passed and now the sun was above them leaving no shadows aside from the canopy above them. Various animals had drawn their attention. Small creatures cmbering across branches of the trees, rger ones sprinting through the undergrowth, and rger creatures that simply gave them a moment of attention before going back to grazing from the forestry around the herd.

More hours passed as the ground rose up and split apart in endless changes before the hatchling heard a soft noise far in the distance. A gentle tick that almost forced the head to turn and follow. Barely carried by the wind as Malia started to move faster. The sun was almost touching the horizon by the time the ticking was obvious and found. A great pilr reaching to the heavens far above a small town. Yet the ticking called and echoed as a loud bell rang out as the shadows covered all but the pilr.

The calming tick within Malia's chest called for the tower's own.
