Chapter 2

The outside world was a sight to behold for the hatchling, and it spent a few moments simply looking about the open area. The nearby forest encircling the clearing and allowing the flourishing meadow of white flowers to shine under the dim blue sky above. The twin moons receding from the skies above and vanishing with the stars.

The hatchlings tail coiling around the lip of the door to push it closed behind itself with a soft creaking noise. Each step away from the workshop gave it a wider view of it's birthpce. No signs, no markers, and something it hadn't noticed from inside was the rge sliding door more than thrice the size of the entrance it had just used to leave. Overgrowth appeared to have recimed the area around the workshop in the form of shrubbery and ferns forming an almost perfect circle around the workshop. Only the many white flowers bloomed within the circle and almost rampantly along the walls and roof.

Turning back towards the forest and taking careful steps to avoid stepping on the meadow's many blooming flowers. Stopping only for a moment to lean over a rge and opening flower bud that appeared to be almost leaning towards the still open chest of the hatchling. "What might you be?" The gently swaying flower did nothing to respond besides the gentle sway of the wild's breeze. The hatchling in turn gently plucked the flower and using it's tail once more gently slipped it into an open gap in it's body allowing the bud to rest gently on it's back.

Less curious of the field and now looking towards the sky and treetops as the various waking sounds of the forest called to the hatchling. Following the various sounds and still taking gentle steps around the many flowers between itself and the dense tree line. It didn't seem like a far distance from it's eyes, but as it kept walking it seemed almost impossibly far away. Minutes ticking by while the trees only seemed to be getting rger, and slowly the minutes turned into hours. By the time the hatchling reached the trees it was readily apparent that the trees were not the same size as the workshop it had left behind. The meadow was not small either as it stretched all the way to the trees and left only a small gap between the end of the trees and the start of the flowers.

Gazing upwards in newfound wonder before looking towards the various creatures. Massive beasts with tree branches pointing upwards from their heads while only vaguely paying attention to the tiny hatchling by comparison. The smallest voice within the inherited memories it received told it only that it was a peaceful creature that wouldn't harm it. The curiosity pulling at all that the hatchling was made it edge closer to the beast in slow but cautious steps.

Stepping closer slowly brought a vague attention to the hatchling and almost as quickly made the halt as the colossal white creature started to approach and lean down to observe them closely. It's maw opening to speak almost strangely to the tiny creature before it. "Welcome into the world young one. You are curious?"

Almost startled by the sudden conversation and no longer quite as cautious the hatchling leaned back up towards the massive head looking them over. "Yes, I can only feel you won't hurt me, but I do not understand why or how I know."

"But of course you would not know of life without having been taught. You are strange, and that is fine in all life to be different. I would introduce myself to you and in turn you to me." The colossal form shifting downwards as it bent it's legs and embraced the floor of the forest letting the dangling vines and sapling brush the ground. "I am known by many names, but the most common you may find is 'The Great White Stag' and yourself?"

Almost lost in thought at the newest knowledge left the hatchling confused for a moment as it did not know what it's name was, and yet found a soft and warm memory it shouldn't have bubble up from it's core. "I don't know, but I think it is Malia."
