Chapter 5: High School Reunion (1)
About three seconds later, the helper sprite prompted Du Le to open his eyes and touch the cloth bag to explore the space pouch through his mind.
Du Leizhao did it, and he felt everything was so magical.
Du Le was certain he hadn't misheard, but he didn't dare believe what he saw. Through his mind's eye, he saw this space: a space as large as a football field, four or five stories high, appearing right in front of him. The only difference was that the size of the space was somewhat different from the description given by the helpful spirit.
One hundred cubic meters? Du Le couldn't help but ask the helpful spirit.
"The space capsule was once trapped in a space black hole, and perhaps that's when the mutation occurred. However, through detection, the space inside the capsule is very stable." After a while, the helper sprite finally came up with that sentence.
"The space capsule is empty, there's nothing inside..." Du Le didn't find anything in it. "Right, where's the positioning transmitter? Why isn't it in the space?"
"It's already installed in your brain. Due to the transmission technology involving multiple scientific theories, the Rhine company has set up a soul binding mode between humans and transmitters for safety reasons. During transmission, only humans and their exclusive spatial capsules can be transmitted simultaneously. The spatial capsule can be used as a luggage box, which can store items by touch and receive them."
"Transporter, recharging by analyzing free molecules in the air. According to local planetary gas content detection, transporter can complete a recharge approximately every 24 hours for one round trip transport."
After figuring out the function of the space pouch (gray cloth bag), Du Le put his mind back on the positioning transmitter. After all, the positioning transmitter is the main thing, and only by understanding it can its functions be used better. Besides, the space pouch is just an accessory to the positioning transmitter.
"Must be positioned in order to transmit? Then can I transmit now? Where can I transmit?" Du Le asked.
"According to the historical transmission records and the stored coordinate locations, the locator transmission device function records 10 valid coordinates. Currently, there are three coordinate points in storage, but only one is a valid coordinate point. The aforementioned 24-hour charging can transmit back and forth once, referring specifically to this existing single valid coordinate point. The remaining two coordinate points have insufficient energy. Relying on air charging, they would require one year and three years respectively."
Du Le wanted to continue asking questions, but suddenly heard his mother shouting from outside the room: "Le Er, you have a phone call!"
Du Le interrupted his conversation with the helpful spirit and shouted: "Got it, I'll be right there."
Du Le worried that his head would spin again and tried to get up. Fortunately, except for a slight dizziness, everything was normal.
Du Le didn't have a mobile phone. The only way he could contact his classmates and friends was through the family's sole landline phone, which was placed in the small shop as a public phone for use.
Du Le walked out of the room and came to the small shop to take over the microphone from his mother.
"Hello, I'm Du Le, may I ask who you are?"
"Hey, Du Le, guess who I am?" a familiar voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Lei Zi, is that you?" Du Le immediately guessed it was his old friend Chen Lei.
"Haha, good, you still have a conscience, you still remember me."
"What's wrong?"
"Can't you just call me to catch up for no reason? Are we still brothers?"
"We just had drinks together last week, what's going on? Spit it out if you've got something to say."
"Look at you, no sense of humor at all. I just found out today that our class is having a gathering tonight, want to come together?"
"Is there a party in class tonight? Why are you telling me this now?" Du Le said with some dissatisfaction.
"Alas, actually they had agreed online a few days ago, but who can blame them when you're always offline?"
Du Le was speechless, indeed, after returning home, he rarely went online again.
"Where's the party? Who's going?" Du Le asked.
"A restaurant near the school. Everyone should go, after all, it's been three years since we last gathered. This time, Li Qiang, Wei Shiyuan, Zhang Kai and others will all come."
Du Le listened to Chen Lei mention these names, they were all his good friends in high school. It's just that after going to college, they lost contact with each other a lot. To say that he didn't miss them would be a lie. Du Le and Chen Lei were from the same town, so relatively speaking, the two of them kept in touch often.
"Uh-huh, I know. I'm going too." Du Le replied.
"Okay, I'll pick you up at your place in an hour," Chen Lei said before hanging up the phone. Du Le's high school was a famous school in the city, located in the suburbs, more than 20 kilometers away from Yongxing Town. Chen Lei had a motorcycle, which could take Du Le to the party together. Chen Lei's thoughtful consideration for his brother touched Du Le deeply.
Du Le put down the phone and briefly told his parents about tonight's events before hurrying back to his room. Although it was only a little after two in the afternoon, gatherings usually start at five, so he had to make some preparations ahead of time, such as taking a bath and changing into more suitable clothes.
But these are minor matters. Du Le didn't neglect the greatest wealth he currently possesses, the positioning transmitter and space pouch. During the idle time waiting for Chen Lei to arrive, Du Le continuously practiced opening the space pouch and storing/retrieving items. Just like a child who has just received a new toy, he played with it gleefully.
Holding the cloth bag, Du Le felt like a magician performing on stage. Holding a cloth bag, he continuously pulled out fresh flowers, rabbits, and carrier pigeons from inside. Thinking about it, Du Le thought that going to perform magic himself in the future might not be a bad choice either.
The magician's income should be good, Du Le thought uncertainly.
After playing for a while, Du Le's interest gradually weakened. After all, storing and retrieving items in the space pouch was only visible to oneself, which was also a pretty boring thing. The positioning transmitter was still charging and couldn't be used yet. There were too few functions, and it was too monotonous.
Du Le's idea is not wrong either, but if such a great invention were to be treated as a game console like him, everyone would get bored with it easily.
Du Le also thought that space capsules seemed like a good way to make a living. However, he didn't want to do anything illegal, and as for legal things, he wasn't brave enough to do them either.
Illegal things don't have to be big, just when he's hungry and thirsty, going to the supermarket for a walk can "free" take back a lot of food. Legal things dare not do, naturally Du Le is afraid that the secret of the space capsule will be discovered by others. In this world, people without strength should not own good things beyond their ability, otherwise it's easy to be robbed.
If an ordinary person opens a bank, it's estimated that it will be robbed within two days of opening. The meaning is simple: at least the vault should have a matching anti-theft door. If one billion in cash is placed in a private bank and the bank only has a wooden door with a gold lock, there's no need for armed robbers; thugs can just rush in with a machete.
