Chapter 5: Five Years of Age
The sounds of metal cshing against metal rang out to all. Tanya looked down from the VIP area to the scene beneath. There, fighting, was the warrior king. The name Martial Lord was an empire thing, so he went with that when he moved to her father’s kingdom.
The other man that he was fighting wasn’t a man at all, it was a woman. Said woman was Leinas Rockbruise. The woman herself was rather powerful. Her skills with the spear were simply good, and her reflexes were top notch.
The only thing she needed was levels and faith. Of course, that coming from the “Devil of The Rhine,” wasn’t much of a complement, nor was it advice that you would expect.
Trust, that was the word, trust. She needed to trust the people around her more. what was rather sad to Tanya was that she was the one that had to tell her that. At least, she wanted to tell the woman that, yet she found that she couldn’t. after all, she might offend that power hungry woman.
“How do you think the fight will end?” her older brother, Pandora’s Actor said, “earlier, she might have failed. Yet, after this past half-decade she has grown in strength!” he shouted at the top of his lungs and struck a pose with his arms.
The little girl that was Tanya Ooal Gown looked at her older brother with slight irritation. That man meant well, but he was a bit much. Even after she told him that he didn’t need to look cool for her, he still did so.
“I think Leinas will win. After all, she has been strategizing for this fight for weeks now. She has taken every lesson that has been beaten into her to heart. All her mind is on this fight, she will win,” Tanya said, and Pandora’s Actor nodded his head.
He then looked down at his own thumbs, twiddling them in circles. She turned to him, her golden eyes locking onto his empty holes that served as eyes. The man who was her older brother looked at her with the deepest gaze he could muster with his own excitement that seemed to be building from nowhere.
“Sister,” he said with giddiness slipping into his tone, “how do you think your magic csses will go with father!?” he asked, suddenly jumping from his spot and posing a jo-jo like pose.
“I think well. Father is the most powerful arcane magic caster in the world. I can’t wait to learn,” she simply with actual eagerness.
She didn’t know how this world’s magic worked at all. In fact, it seemed to her more like some fictional magic that you’d see in DnD. Yet, that couldn’t be further from the truth. After all, the spells that her father and other magic casters used in battle were nothing to scoff at.
Her brother seemed eted at this. he jumped up and posed once more, fpping his jacket in the air as he spun on a dime. He blurred in her sight, which was impressive as she had rather good eyesight, and stopped with yet another jo-jo pose.
“Wunderbar!” he shouted, and the two then heard the fighting in the Colosseum cease as they both looked down.
Leinas seemed to be victorious. She stood on the warrior king’s chest with her spear raised high above her head. Her head tilted back, and a roar of utter bloodlust spilled out. She had taken her faith in a bit a strange way, if her war chanting was anything to say about it.
“Blood to feed fmes of war!” she shouted, and Tanya winced slightly.
…
Ainz had learned. He really had. The day he decided that he’d teach his daughter magic, was the day that he told himself that he’d read the lore. He hadn’t before. Yes, there was the surface level stuff that he’d read that most pyers of his skill level learned, yet now he was knee deep in it.
The lore actually expined the magic system. In all honesty, it made sense to him. The lore itself was basically just a metaphysical expnation of physics. Of course, he had no idea on what that meant, or rather, what the physics analog meant, until he read the lore.
Now, he was a rather busy man now. He had to run a country. Satisfy three women in bed, two of which were basically insane in all honesty. Only one really left him alone when they were horny. Finally pn out the education of his kids.
Back to the subject matter at hand, and away from thoughts about his stunning wives, he was happy and content. His magic lore knowledge had been helped by some earth books about pagan and alchemical magic; as well as notes left by Tabu Smaragdina.
He leaned back in his chair in the library, waiting for Ninya to bring his first born daughter. His waiting was stopped when he heard the footsteps of his five year old walking down the hallway. The pitter-patter of her feet sent a happy smile to his face. He loved being an actual dad.
He turned his happy face, well metaphorically happy face, to Tanya. The girl was smiling with her whole face. A face splitting grin stretched across it. A shiver went down his spine, he had forgotten that she had started doing that when her head had gotten big enough.
“Well Tanya,” said, while she sat down on the chair that sat across form him, “are you ready to learn the mystic arts from me, and get some tips from your grandfather’s notes?” he asked rhetorically
“Yes dad!” she said rather loudly, and he shushed her, “yes father.”
He nodded his head at this. She seemed eager, exceedingly eager. She was like him, he realized. She was so much like him in this instance of learning. After all, he also became happy when he learned of new magic and magic items.
“I see your eager,” he said, pcing a hand on her head, “you have to calm down first before anything. After all, learning magic for the first time can be rather explosive as one is applying what they learned,” he said, very happy at this moment.
She sat her bum back down in the seat, not even realizing that she was bouncing slightly. He then took two books from his inventory, and handed one to her, the smaller one that expined the basics of arcane magic. His own expined the basics, the advanced techniques, and the first three tiers of combat, and common spells.
“Now Tanya, open to page twelve and read along with me,” he said as he opened to the page he mentioned, and Tanya did the same, “Now I’ll read, and expin the context and such. “The magic branch known as, “Arcane Magics,” is a practice and art of magic brought into the world by willpower, intellect, and inborne mana.”
