Chapter 8: Paths
“So, here’s the pn,” Aeskell said while walking down the path, as they had just floated above the great rift, “first we either split into two and trap the Quagoa, and kill the dragons, or we trap the dragons and kill the Quagoa, thoughts?” she asked as she looked over everyone else.
The others looked on. Gondo was the one that was guiding them. The dwarve himself knew the path like the back of his hand as he had been taught it by his father. He personally just wanted the runesmith knowledge in the castle. Though, he understood the importance of level grinding, or at least understood how much it meant to these people.
Ainz was thoughtful, of course. Tanya and her sisters’ life and power level were quite important to him. After all, he wouldn’t be there forever, and he wanted them to be strong. Not just for him, but for their own sakes.
Shalltear simply wanted to spend time with her beloved. Of course, she would love to spend time with Tanya, Erika, and Wictoria. Yet, the short vampire would very much like to spend her time with Ainz instead, and in a more intimate way.
“Well, we could give them the EXP sharing item,” Ainz spoke out, and Aeskell spped her forehead in remembrance.
“How could I forget that thing!” she said as she put a hand into her inventory and pulled out a golden, immacute, bracelet.
This was the main bracelet. It was simply known as the “Leveler’s Dream Bracelet.” It was a rather simple, yet expensive item. They were rather rare and only people who had a lot of time on their hands even had the chance to get one.
The bracelet itself was gold in color, with leaf-like embellishments. A purple jewel or two was set in the center of the thickest part of the thing itself. Simple copper accents were dispyed around the flowering details, and whoever crafted the 3D model for it must have put some effort into it.
“This is the main bracelet, if we are to kill the Quagoa first, then kill the dragons then we must give this to whoever is doing the killing,” she expined and handed it to Shalltear, “she can kill the greatest number of enemies the fastest, so she can wear it.”
Shalltear took the thing and pce it on her left arm to marvel slightly at. She rather liked it when people gave her things. Now that she had been given a piece of jewelry by a supreme being herself, she was ecstatic.
Turning back to Aeskell. She pulled yet another bracelet out of her inventory, or three rather. In fact, this was the most amount of, “Secondary Dream Bracelets,” that one could attach to the main bracelet. These bracelets, when connected to a, “Leveler’s Dream Bracelet,” would take the EXP from the kills of the wearer of the main one. Then, it would transfer the EXP to the secondary ones.
“Here you three, take one each,” Aeskell said as she handed one each to the three children, “while wearing these, anybody who is wearing the main one will have their EXP given to you three.”
The kids looked at the bands of silver around their wrists and smiled in gratitude. In truth, none of them wanted to waste the time to kill all of those enemies. The bracelets were much simpler things. With green gems in pce of the purple ones that the main gold band had.
“Now that we have that all sorted out, at least when it comes to the level grinding side, what shall we do first,” Ainz spoke, his hand on his boney chin.
The others in the group simply thought as they walked. The only people here were Ainz, Aeskell, Shalltear, Ainz’s kids, Aura, and Gondo. The others had been left, or brought back home to the Sorcerer kingdom.
“How about we simply split up. Shalltear and Aura can go kill the Quagoa, while we go and bind the dragons and see what the dwarves left behind?” Aeskell proposed, and the rest nodded with the assertion.
Aeskell turned to the only dwarve in the group and asked him something.
“Could you lead the way, Gondo?” she asked, and he nodded his head in happiness, happy that he was useful in this group of utter powerhouses.
“Of course, my Lady!” he excimed.
…
“There are three obstacles,” Gondo expined as they few over the va below them, “the first we flew over, that is the great chasm. That one is probably the easiest one to navigate. All you need is the flight spell and you’re golden. Now, we are onto the second one, the great va river,” he expined as they flew over this none as well.
The lot of them looked down into the va that moved as fluidly as water. In its depths swam a rather rge magical beast. Aura looked down at it. wondering if she could have it. Then again, this was the three children of Lord Ainz’s day. So, she kept quiet.
Soon, they flew off yet again. The day moved on as if they weren’t circumnavigating great obstacles. It was slightly surreal, at least for Gondo.
…
“Here we are, the st obstacle. A cave filled to the brim with poisonous gas,” Gondo spoke, “it is also a rather rge byrinth, and is extremely hard to navigate.”
As he spoke, Ainz pced protection spells pertaining to poisonous gas onto the people that needed it. Aura, and Gondo were the only ones that needed it, really. Aeskell was immune to such things. Along with Tanya, Erika, Wictoria, and Shalltear.
A gold light covered them for a split second, and Gondo felt like he had been covered in a thick, yet it felt comfy. Gondo looked up to ask for an expnation, yet he got one before he could ask.
“With these protection spell pced upon you, you should have nothing to fear,” Shalltear said with a smirk.
Gondo gnced at her out of the corner of his eye as Ainz raised his boney hand. A little orb of golden light filled his palm and flew off to the exit. Gondo didn’t know what he did.
“That was, “Tatania’s guiding light.” It was a spell that shows people to the end of mazes,” Ainz expined as he cast the “Mass fly,” spell again.
Gondo simply sighed at the impossible feet of getting to the old capital city of the Dwarven Kingdom not even a day after they had set out. most of the time, it would take over a day to get there from where they had come from. Yet, because they had circumnavigated the obstacles, they chopped down a lot of time.
They soon flew to the capital city. Of course, it would still take some time to get there. Yet Gondo wasn’t worried. After all, they were here to kill dragons, and take back forgotten knowledge. He wouldn’t be here if he wasn’t confident in his majesty’s power.
