He had told the dragon to go and gather any and all runecraft information that he had. The dragon that he had already forgotten the name of ran off. This left Ainz with Gondo.
Ainz looked at the rge door. His wife and kids were currently hunting dragons, so he was free to raid the treasury. In all actuality, he had hoped to share this experience with his daughters. Yet, it didn’t really matter right now.
“Now your majesty, we can go and check out the never-opened treasury and search for the runecraft info,” Gondo said as he looked at the rge door.
It was tall, majestic, gold silver and blue. Ainz was slightly confused by the amount of blue on dispy in this pce. The stereotypical color scheme for dwarves was grey and gold. Yet at the same time he guesses he couldn’t get mad. He was a merciful overlord king after all.
He looked towards the dwarve himself, Gondo. Gondo looked back at him. a silent agreement passed between them. They would speak of nothing that happened in this room.
“Ok then, lets go on in,” Ainz said as he held up a special magical item from his inventory, “this is a special item that can unlock any lock seven times,” he said as he used the item.
One of the gem stones on the bronze and grey rectangur item glowed, then turned grey. It was an item that he had found in a gacha game. He wouldn’t tell anyone how many tries it took to get it though.
The lock glowed as well, and the doors pulled back from each other on tracks. The creaking sound could be heard by all in the castle. This made Ainz nervous despite knowing that everyone in the castle currently didn’t care about him opening this door.
The glow of coins is what greeted his sight next, when he turned to face the gold that is. He had been looking for his wife snooping around when the door had opened. He didn’t know why his gamer senses were tingling right now, they simply were.
He walked forth after a second or two of making sure that his wife wasn’t about to go loot goblin, and grab all the loot from the dwarves. It was a rather rge space, the treasury in and of itself, that is. The floor was littered with treasure. Magic items covered in runes were all about the pce. After all, the vast majority of magical items were runecraft in the times that this pce had been st used.
Swords, axes, spears and un-strung bows, you name it, y on the floor and shelves. At the back of the vast chamber that was only about a tenth the size of Nazarick’s treasury, were several shelves. Gondo made for that pce first, as it was thew pce that had the most amount of books and scrolls.
Ainz, meanwhile, tried to pick some things for himself and his family. After all, he was the one to liberate this pce. It was only fair that his family got to pick and choose several things to take home as keepsakes for this act.
There were a good number of things that looked rather intriguing that he wanted. The pile that he was looking at was rge, the rgest of them all in this room. weapons and trinkets stuck out of it. From simple daggers, to chairs, there was a lot.
Ainz took it all in. He scanned the thing from top to bottom. The weapons caught his eye, but there were other things. There was a mug. A simple mug in the pile.
Atop the pile sat a mug that was seemingly of earth make. After all, who would make a mug that said, “world’s best brewer,” on it in English which Aeskell had taught to him after a round in the sheets.
It was then that he remembered that Wictoria had said that she had wanted to make coffee for Tanya once. It was a while ago, back before the girls had even been a decade old. Yet, the memory stuck with him, and he decided to give this one to Wictoria.
The next thing that nded in his sight was a longsword. A rather beautiful one at that. The weapon itself seemed to be a yard long, yes yard, the author is American after all.
The bde was greyish-silver. There was no fuller to it, and it held perfectly banced in his hand. The grip was that of a longsword, and the hilt was rather simple yet elegant. It was dull-brass colored, with simple leaf-carvings upon it.
The pummel was simple, an antlerless reindeer head decorated it, yet it was detailed to the max. His eyes tched onto the sword as he realized that he could hold it, with the intention of using it. The magic that coursed through it was that of level fifty, or comparable.
He could tell in an instant that this sword was out of Yggdrasil. Or at least, was meant for one of Yggdrasil. Of course, it wasn’t confirmed that it was from the game, yet it could be wielded by him, and no other person or entity other than a pyer or NPC would need that restriction lifted.
“Greater Magic Item: Appraisal,” Ainz said, and the information of the sword filled his mind, “hm, a Mage Bde?” he hummed after.
The bde was a Mage Bde. A weapon used by magic casters that used weapons as well, such as Narberal. This one though, had been buffed by wild magic to be able to be used by someone as if they were a warrior.
Using this bde would count towards using spells, and any magic caster could use it. He could tell, it had been a sword used and made by a pyer in Yggdrasil. Yet it had been modified by a certain Deep Darkness Dragon Lord, for an unknown reason.
The bde had rather simple enchantments upon it. Increased durability, increased sharpness, and several different aspects were pced on it. this included a fire effect, a frost effect, and a blood loss effect. He decided to give this to Erika, as a simple fuck you to the dragon lords to whom he was growing to dislike.
Then there was Tanya’s gift, and his eyes nded on it as soon as he turned. Yet another weapon, or rather, what could became a good one. He couldn’t believe that it was there. Just sitting in a pile of gold.
A, “brand of Death’s Hand,” brand y on the base of the pile. He wondered how, who or why it was even here. He walked forward, studying the thing as he picked it up and peered at it from all angles.
The brand was a simple thing, a Z-rune on the end of a metal rod that seemed filled with negative energy. The rune end glowed a fainted green under the light of the magical lights in the treasury.
Yet he paid the lights no mind. He had just found a rather expensive item. After all the, “Brand of Death’s Hand,” was a powerful item. Even for undead such as his daughter. If she used the brand to brand herself, she could gain a, “Death’s Hand.”
A powerful racial ability that could only be gained via this item. Instant death spells that could work on undead. The turning of weak living enemies into middling undead minions with just a touch. The ability to summon powerful undead when the user reached a high level without level cost.
This item cost real world money; just about 18000 yen. An amazing amount for him back then. It was one of the reasons that Yggdrasil went under, now that he thought about it. Of course, her hand would become skeletal from the elbow down, but that was just pin cool. Like her dad.
