Chapter 12: Little Fat Girl and Her Friends
Chu Jingyu has always felt that his life can be divided into three parts: wandering the streets of Los Angeles as a child is the first part, entering the home of that couple is one part, and coming to Seoul is another part.
Those who knew him, gave thanks to him, or helped him were all people that Chu Jingyan kept in his heart and needed to remember. Perhaps a bag of sweet donuts and a set of cheap clothes didn't mean much to the former little fatty, now a beautiful girl, but to Chu Jingyan, they were everything.
Gratitude is one thing, but being open-hearted is another matter altogether.
Xiao Feipo once asked Chu Jingyan why he came to Seoul and why he fled everywhere when he was in Los Angeles, but Chu Jingyan didn't say anything. Xiao Feipo asked again, so they didn't contact each other for half a year.
Chu Jingyu is a bit extreme in his dealings with others, but he also knows what the bottom line is.
Chu Jingyan felt that Xiaofeipo was indeed a friend of hers. When she called to invite Chu Jingyan out for dinner earlier, if it were someone else, there wouldn't be anyone else anyway, staying on that boat all the time or going straight to the company to pick up the development case materials and go home to study, that's what Chu Jingyan would normally do.
For Xiaofeipo, meeting an old friend in a foreign land should be a celebratory occasion. However, when she asked some questions that a friend should care about, she received Chu Jingyan's cold response instead. This actually hurt her feelings, and at the time, Xiaofeipo was indeed very heartbroken.
In her heart, Chu Jingyan, who robbed himself of his donuts and drinks, but also helped himself to severely teach the classmates who ridiculed him for being fat, should be a very just person. However, when they met again, Little Fatty discovered that she didn't understand this man at all.
From Xiaofei's point of view, Chuying Yan is indeed a person who doesn't know much about human relationships, but she may not be aware that she can get enough living expenses from her family in Los Angeles every month, while Chuying Yan has to earn it bit by bit herself.
She strives towards her own dreams, Chu Jingyan only knows that making the most of today is the best.
"Little fatty." Chu Jingyan opened her mouth ready to speak.
The girl immediately ran away shouting: "Don't call me fatty."
Chu Jing spoke with a furrowed brow, "Huang Meiying?"
The girl glared at Chu Jingyan, and after a string of incoherent Korean that was hard to make out, she gave up on her native language and switched back to English: "And don't call me fatty anymore, and from now on, my name is Tiffany, Tiffany. Unless there's some special reason, no one is allowed to call me Huang Meiyin."
Chu Jing glanced at the girl and smiled: "Heh, after this makeover, you're really different. Even your way of speaking has changed, with a straighter waist. How's it going? Are men whistling at you on the street now?"
"Do you think this is still America?" Tiffany gave Chu Jingyan a white eye and said, "You also know my current job, even if there are men who confess to me, I have no way of accepting."
"By the way, do you know what my current identity is?" asked Xiaofei, looking at Chu Jingyan with some expectation.
A moment of silence.
Then Xiao Feipo looked at Chu Jingyan with a questioning gaze and asked, "Chu Jingyan, you shouldn't be unaware of what I'm doing now, should you?"
Chu Jingyan grasped the steering wheel, sat up straight and said with a flicker of his words: "I've heard something, I've heard something."
The little fatty's face was full of incredulity, and she exclaimed: "I told you a year ago that I'm now a trainee for a girl idol group. At that time, I remember you even congratulated me on my upcoming debut. It's only been such a short time, and you've already forgotten? Is your brain only thinking about making money and eating?"
Chu Jing spoke after a moment of contemplation, dryly saying: "Eating is the top priority in life, making money is the second priority, and it's not wrong to only think about these two things."
"So, out of concern as a friend, Chu Jingyan asked: 'Which company?'"
She thought to herself that even if the entertainment company of this little fatty beside her was very famous, she wouldn't know or be interested. So Little Fatty replied: "SM is a really powerful entertainment company."
Chu Jingyan thought of something and asked: "How many SM Entertainment companies are there in Seoul?"
"Of course, there is only one family."
Seoul is really small, so small that Chu Jingyan only knows three artists in total, all of whom are under the same entertainment company, but it also indirectly proves that Xiaofei's words are not empty, and that S.M Entertainment company is indeed very powerful.
"I don't understand why people in this country are so passionate about being a star."
"Maybe it's because she wants to prove herself."
Chu Jing spoke disapprovingly, "I think it's because being a star can earn more money than other professions, and it's relatively easy, while also enjoying the adoration of fans, getting both."
The little fatty looked at Chu Jingyan and said, "It's not as simple as you think."
Chu Jingyan felt that his concern for so-called friends was somewhat elusive and void, so he immediately changed the subject and asked: "How can a reserve member of an idol group have time to find me in their busy schedule?"
Xiao Feipo obviously couldn't keep up with Chu Jingyan's rapid thinking, and her Korean wasn't good enough, so she could only follow along with the topic.
"Even in the midst of busyness, it's also possible to take a break and rest for a bit. My friend just returned from out of town and said they want to treat me to dinner, so I thought I'd bring you along too. It's been a long time since we've all seen each other, and having dinner together can help foster our relationships."
"Have you made friends?"
The little fatty nodded and replied: "Although there aren't many, indeed there are, and they're very good friends."
Having friends is a good thing.
Xiao Feipo nodded in agreement and said, "So you should also make more friends. We've almost met again for a year now, but I've never seen anyone else walking with you before. This isn't good. Good friends are those who can care for you when you're sick and then mock you mercilessly. You can't always be alone."
Chu Jing said with a smile: "You still think you're a spiritual guide?"
"Great Jesus teaches us, benevolence saves the world."
The little fatty thought for a moment, and then continued: "The person we're going to meet later is a girl, very nice, good personality, but people from outside Seoul, South Korea seem to be similar to us foreigners, they all have a bit of an inferiority complex here, so although she appears strong-willed, she's actually quite soft."
"Soft? Which part?" Chu Jing Yan asked curiously.
The little fatty obviously couldn't win against Chu Jingyan in a game of words and honestly replied: "All are soft."
Chu Jing spoke with raised eyebrows and smiled: "Top quality."
Xiao Feipo and her friend, who was soft all over, had agreed to meet at a small but very clean barbecue restaurant. Chu Jingyan parked the car and followed her into the store.
"Tiffany, over here!" Just as the little fatty was looking around, a voice came from the corner. The little fatty looked carefully and then giggled and ran over to hug the girl sitting there. The two girls smiled at each other and then sat down.
It was a loving scene, and Chu Jingyan scratched his neck somewhat uncomfortably.
After a long time, friends met again. Xiao Fei Po was very enthusiastic and pulled Chu Jingyan to sit down, introducing him to the girl: "This is my friend, Chu Jingyan, but you have to call him brother, although he looks young, he's actually four years older than us."
Chu Jingyu glanced at Xiaofei and said, "There's no need to elaborate on this."
"Alright, alright." Little fatty smiled and pointed at the girl, saying: "Kim Tae-yeon, just like me, is a reserve member of the company's combination team, and it's very likely that she'll be my captain too."
"Hello." The girl gave Chu Jingyan a slight bow.
"Hello." Chu Jingyan returned the courtesy.
Chu Gyeongmun is not quite clear how the leader of this idol group is selected now, singing or performing skills are part of it, but Cheonjang-dong Chu Gyeongmun still thinks that as a leader, to put it bluntly, you have to be able to hold your own on stage.
Beautiful women are all proud and arrogant, let alone a group of good-looking girls. The girl in front of me is short and small, with big and spirited eyes, white skin, looking like a junior high school student. How can someone like this be the leader?
Chu Jing said lazily and picked up her chopsticks.
Then he found that there was no dish or meat on the table at all, and had to put down his chopsticks with a smile.
Kim Tae-yeon looked at Chu Jingyan's expression and said apologetically, "Sorry sir, I was thinking of waiting for Tiffany to arrive before ordering. If you're hungry, we can order now."
What a considerate girl! Chu Jingyan's stomach was indeed hungry.
Sizzling meat on the grill, full of fragrance.
"Fatty." Before the words were out of his mouth, Chu Jingyan felt the murderous gaze of Little Fatty, so he swallowed the meat in his mouth deeply and smiled: "Tiffany, help me get some lettuce."
Xiao Feipo handed the lettuce to Chu Jingyan.
Chu Jing said as he took over the raw vegetables, "When will you be leaving?"
Xiao Feipo looked at Kim Tae-yeon and asked: "Can I say it?"
Kim Tae-yeon thought for a moment and said, "Theoretically, it's impossible."
The little fatty turned her head and said to Chu Jingyan: "Company secret, cannot be leaked."
"However, I went online yesterday and it seems like the internet already knows our debut date better than us. It's as if they know more about it than we do. Tiffany, you can tell this mister."
Tiffany was choked by juice.
Chu Jing spoke with a smile and shook his head.
"In August, if nothing unexpected happens, we will debut in August." Kim Tae-yeon said to Chu Jingyan, "I hope you'll like the way Tiffany and I stand on stage later."
Chu Jingyun might have known why this petite girl in front of him could become the captain.
"Tae-yeon's singing is really good, when we release our album, you must buy one to take home and listen, it's absolutely worth it." Tiffany said with a mouthful of meat, "You should also cultivate some hobbies outside of work, otherwise people will become more and more boring."
Chu Jingyan smiled and asked: "Tiffany, are you speaking because you want to practice your oral language?"
"No." Tiffany's reply was unusually innocent.
"Just shut up and eat."
"Hmm."
The little fatty said she was really innocent.
