Within The Jail

  Marvin sat motionless on the cold, metal bed, his eyes fixed on the cracked pavemeh him. Then, with a deep breath, he stood up.

  "Months of pnning..." he muttered. "To escape this pce."

  His fingers curled into fists. "Every two weeks, the B-Bot cops retrieve the expired cell keys and repce them with new ones." He smirked. "All I have to do is wait."

  Time dragged until, finally, the rhythmiking of metal feet sighe guards’ arrival. Marvin pressed himself against the cell bars, watg as a B-Bot cop approached with a fresh key in hand.

  Then, without hesitation, he pounded against the corroded bars—owitil they gave way, crashing onto the ground. Seizing the moment, he snatched the key, unlocked the cell, and cautiously stepped into the dimly lit corridor.

  "1145," Marvin whispered, recalling the number of William’s cell. "Those were the numbers I saw wheore him away from me. Let’s hope I’m right."

  Navigating through the narrow hallways, Marvin soon entered three B-Bot cops blog his path. He had no choice but to fight. In a brutal csh, he dismahem one by one, ending the st with a crushing blow to its head.

  Panting, Marvin pressed forward until he found himself before a cell door, slightly ajar. Inside, ah a wooden handle rested against the wall. The air around it crackled with an eerie energy.

  Then, a voice—dark and whispering.

  "Marvin... Marvin..."

  Marvin stiffened.

  "e closer... Marvin."

  He cautiously stepped forward, eyes locked on the on.

  "Who are you?" Marvin demanded.

  "I am obog, a sorcery on," the voice hissed. "Wield me, and I shall grant you power."

  Marviated.

  "Power?"

  "Yes... I once beloo a warrior... but he abandoned me. Left me here when he escaped, called me a burden. But you, Marvin... you are my new successor."

  Marvin reached for the axe. The moment his fingers ed around the handle, a surge of energy coursed through him, illuminating the room in an eerie glow.

  "I feel... stronger."

  "Once a successor wields me, their abilities increase."

  "I see."

  With renewed determination, Marvin tinued his search for William. He maneuvered through crumbling debris, only to halt at the sound of a faint humming.

  "William!" he called.

  A voice responded. "Old man? Is that you?"

  "I’m here! Just hold on!"

  Marvin rushed to Cell 1145. Inside, William looked unharmed but weary.

  "Are you alright?"

  "Yeah, I think so."

  "Good. Now let’s get out of here."

  Marvin helped his son to his feet. Together, they sprioward the exit, but their luck ran dry—B-Bot cops spotted them.

  "Holy—!" William gasped. "There’s a lot of them!"

  "Don’t look back!" Marvin ordered. "Keep moving forward!"

  They ran, dodging attacks. A cop lu Marvin, but with his enhanced abilities, he sidestepped, sshed through its core, and pressed on.

  "Old man, help!" William cried. A B-Bot pinned him down.

  Marvin charged, gripping obog tightly, and pluhe axe into the cop’s back, destroying its core.

  "Get up, William. and down."

  William nodded, and they tiheir escape. With one final effort, Marvin threw obog at the exit door, f it open. They dashed out, barrig the entrance behind them just as the guards reached it.

  Marvin pced a hand on William’s shoulder. "Well done."

  William nodded.
