Chapter 6: New Challenge

Castor stared at the shadow for ten seconds. The shadow came alive, as if it had sensed that Castor had discovered it, and slowly moved to a larger shadow.

But no matter how the shadow moved, Castor's eyes were fixed on it. Even if the shadow moved to another shadow and hid, he could still find the exact location and stare at it.

Finally, the shadow no longer hid but slowly walked in front of Castor and then suddenly stood up.

"You can see me? Even if I hide in the shadow?" The shadow asked, its tone deep like a man.

"Yes." Castor nodded slightly, "Even you hide in the shadow, I still can feel you... You have a mysterious thing around you, just like the thing around this ship."

"Oh? Haha, you can feel it? The arcane?" The shadow chuckled and extended its right hand, "The mysterious thing... here you go!"

As soon as the words fell, a ball of black gas condensed into a ball and floated on shadow's right hand. This black sphere is changing its shape all the time, one moment it is a triangle, the next moment it is a square.

"Yes, I see this thing around you." Castor stared at the black sphere quietly.

"Tsk, how come you're not surprised at all?" The shadow seemed not dissatisfied with Castor's calm expression, "Listen, this is called mana, the energy to cast an arcane spell."

"So the faint black layer outside the ship is an arcane spell cast by you?" Castor asked and rose.

"Exactly." The shadow admitted it proudly, its arms crossing its chest, "Hey? Where are you going?"

"Telling Captain that there is a stranger hiding in this ship." Castor said lightly and walked towards the door.

"No! No! No! You don't need to do this!" The shadow said anxiously and pulled Castor back.

"Ca?" Castor opened his mouth and shouted.

"No! Calm down! I'm not a bad guy!" The shadow covered Castor's mouth quickly.

Castor raised his head and looked at the shadow's head quietly without any resistance, even though his mouth had been covered by the shadow.

"That's weird. Normally, everyone would try to resist... Never mind. This just makes me feel more relaxed." The shadow said in its mind.

"Ah... haha, I'm Captain's friend, so you don't need to call him, also don't inform him that I'm here." The shadow added and withdrew its hand slowly.

"Mother taught me not to believe a stranger easily." Castor shook his head and opened his mouth, "Ca?"

"Enough!" The shadow yelled and covered Castor's mouth again, "How about like this, we cooperate! You don't tell anyone that I'm here, and I will protect you! Also, the faint black layer is the protection of this ship! I'm protecting all the pirates here!"

  "Deal?" The shadow asked.

"Mmm..." Castor pondered for a moment and nodded, "Mhm."

  "Alright then?"

  Hum~ Hum~

Two whale-like roars echoed throughout the ship, and the sound was as loud as thunder. After that, there were the voices of many people, very noisy, as if they had discovered something extraordinary.

Castor and shadow immediately ran to the glass window on the captain's side and looked out at the vast ocean. The island where Castor lived was very far away from them.

Not far from the island, there were mountains. To be more precise, they were moving mountains. They swam very fast, and just as they were about to hit the island, the mountains sank into the water.

  Hum~

A huge mouth suddenly appeared, and an extremely colossal whale emerged from the water and rushed towards the sky, swallowing up the tiny island in an instant.

The whale's body appeared to be composed of rocks and plants rather than flesh and blood. Its massive form blocked out the sunlight for a time.

The shadow covered the entire ship, and Castor watched helplessly as the island where he had lived for thirteen years and his family were swallowed up by the giant whale.

"Mother..." Castor said, his tone trembling. A heartbreaking pain surged to his mind, making him grab his chest.

"Mountain... whale... mountain whale... this monster actually lives in the forbidden sea...?" The shadow said, its tone mixed with fear and shock.

But this is not the end. The huge mountain whale fell heavily into the water. With such speed and weight, it would definitely form a tsunami, a huge tsunami.

  Hum~

The next moment, the mountain whale suddenly fell, causing a huge splash, and the calm waves became violently turbulent. The waves began to rise and spread in all directions, forming a tsunami.

"Tsunami..." Castor said lightly and gazed at the tsunami quietly.

"Don't worry... my arcane spell can block it easily..." The shadow said and sank into Castor's shadow, "I need to hide now, I think that Captain will come here, remember not to tell him about me."

Castor nodded, "But... I feel something down right there..."

"What did you feel?" The shadow asked.

  Bong!

Suddenly, the door was kicked open. It was Captain Raigh. He glanced around in panic and found Castor looking outside. He was stunned for a moment and stood behind him.

"Castor..." Captain Raigh said with a hoarse voice, he knew that Castor had seen everything.

"Castor, don't worry, I've promised your mother I will bring you to the land safely." Captain Raigh added, his tone lacked confidence. He placed his hand on Castor's shoulder as if to comfort him.

"Okay..." Castor said lightly, his heart could still feel the slight pain.

The two watched as the tsunami slowly rose and even blocked out the sun. At this time, the pirate ship slowly turned its direction, facing away from the tsunami to reduce the impact.

"Let's go up," Captain Raigh said, and hold Castor's hand.

The two walked out of the captain's room and onto the deck, where they found many people looking at the tsunami in despair. They did not stop but walked up to the steer.

The tsunami is approaching and is about to hit the ship, but Castor is not afraid at all. The captain knelt down on one knee, hugged Castor, and whispered in his ear.

"Castor, I will protect you, don't worry!"

At this time, another young voice spoke.

"Heh, well, our lunch hasn't finished yet, and we're going to face this... It's nice to know you guys! I will try my best to remember you guys in the next life!" Jalen grins, even with death imminent, he seemed very optimistic.

"Boys! Why look desperately! Remember who we are?!" Bob yelled.

"We... we are pirates!" Every pirate shouted.

"What do we do if death is coming to us?" Bob yelled again.

"WE MOCK IN THE FACE OF DEATH!!!" They yelled.

"Hahaha! Yes, we mock it! Those who triumphed shall stand with us, while we honor the fallen whose spirits stay with us." Frank laughed loudly.

Everyone was excited, the despair they had felt before had faded away, and they were ready to die at any time. The captain also hugged Castor tighter and tighter.

Suddenly, a whisper came from Castor shadow.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, you actually can sense the things that I didn't sense before? You must have a great talent for the arcane. Wanna be my apprentice?" The shadow whispered.

"That thing is coming..." Castor said.

  "What...?" Captain Raigh asked.

"Something... big... is coming from below..." Castor gazed at Captain Raigh's confused eyes.

  Hum~!!

The howling of a mountain whale in the distance. This wailing sound was very miserable, as if it were in great pain.

At the same moment, the tsunami also hit, and what all the pirates didn't expect was that when the seawater approached, it all spread out in an orderly manner, as if there was a circular barrier protecting the ship.

As everyone was shocked, the tsunami passed by, and on the other side, a huge whirlpool dragged the ship down. Above the whirlpool was a pillar. A huge pillar penetrated the mountain whale that had just swallowed the island.

The blood of the mountain whale was also flowing down slowly. It let out a miserable cry and then slowly lost its life.

"That... how is that possible...? What is that pillar...?" The shadow asked in a small voice.

"Hahaha! Everyone look! That stupid whale got what it deserved!" Mark shouted.

The pirates shouted loudly, some cursed, some rejoiced.

At this time, a corner of a building slowly emerged, a corner with the same color as the deep sea. It slowly rises, and the sea is slowly pulled up by it.

"Oh my god! Oh my god! Finally! My purpose of coming to the forbidden sea!" The shadow shouted, but no one heard it because of the pirates' cheers except Castor.

As the sea level rose, the ship also rose. More huge sentences floated into the air. The building in that corner was also revealed. It was a huge pyramid.

The pyramid has completely risen into the air, and the sea has receded with the ship. Everyone was panicking again. Just as everyone was about to go down into the abyss with the boat, a voice sounded in Castor's ears.

"Jump off the ship! Trust me! Jump!" The shadow shouted.

"Ah? You sure?" Castor tilted his head and asked.

"Yes!! Just jump! Or else you will die!" The shadow said anxiously, "Also, tell those pirates to jump if you want them alive!"

  "Fine." Castor said.

He grabbed Captain Raigh's hand and ran to the bow.

"Hey! Castor! What are you doing?!" Captain Raigh asked. He didn't know why Castor did this.

"The shadow tells me to jump." Castor said, and jumped off from the ship with Captain Raigh, "Everyone! Jump if you don't want to die!"
