Chapter 11: Killing Each Other

"Uhm... I don't know. My mother just said that I don't need to eat." Castor lifted his head and looked up as he began to think.

"Well, then, do you want to try it?" Captain Raigh asked, handing the bread to Castor.

Castor took it gently and didn't put it directly into his mouth, but observed it for a while. After sniffing it, he opened his mouth, took a small bite of the bread, and chewed it slowly.

"It's delicious." Castor praised the taste of bread.

"Good, you can eat it. Do you feel satiated?" Captain Raigh asked while watching Castor eating.

"No, I don't feel anything, but I can feel the taste." Castor shook his head and returned to the bread to Captain Raigh.

"Hm? Why? You can have it." Captain Raigh asked in confusion.

"I don't need to eat, but you do. Giving it to me would just be a waste." Castor explained, placing the bread on Captain Raigh's palm.

Seeing Castor's refusal, Captain Raigh had to take back the bread. At this time, Mark walked towards them, holding a cutlass in his hand. When Castor saw him, a strange feeling came over him and made him frown.

"You didn't bring your cutlass." Mark said lightly as he gave the cutlass to the captain.

"Thanks." Captain Raigh tied his weapon with a yellow ribbon on his waist, "I didn't notice it..."

"Just be careful next time. By the way, what do you think about this trial? Nothing is here..." Mark said, his tone a bit strange.

"That's strange..." Captain Raigh narrowed. he noticed something on Mark.

"Indeed..." Mark sighed and turned around, but didn't move. His right arm moved to his left waist slowly, and a sense of danger crept up Castor's back.

"Careful!" Castor shouted. Captain Raigh also moved, he unleashed his cutlass in an instant.

  Clang!

Mark turned around, and a cutlass slashed at him, and Captain Raigh also slashed back. The two blades collided and made a crisp sound, which made everyone alert instantly.

"Mark, what are you doing?!" Captain Raigh yelled angrily and kicked his stomach.

After being kicked, Mark took a few steps back and rubbed his stomach. Then he just smiled softly at the captain's anger. His body twisted in a strange way, and then turned into a black mass of a strange shape with eyes.

"You're not Mark!" Captain Raigh shouted.

"Everyone! Be? ugh!" He was just about to remind everyone to be careful around the people surrounding them, but a tingling sensation crept from his back. It was Castor, "Why..."

Castor laughed maniacally as he stabbed the captain with a dagger, but his laughter was voiceless.

"'You're worse than that fake Mark, he at least knows how to talk." Captain Raigh yelled and slashed towards Castor, he knew this was not the original Castor.

When the blade came, Castor dodged the attack with agility and struck at the captain with a dagger. However, the captain, having experienced hundreds of battles, proved difficult to defeat in a one-on-one confrontation.

"Too slow!" Captain Raigh grinned wickedly and kicked the fake Castor's face with his knee. After that, a series of footsteps came behind him.

He turned around and saw the fake Mark running towards him with a knife. This time, he didn't hesitate and stabbed Mark in the heart.

When Mark fell to the ground, he turned into more monsters. The bodies of those monsters were all black with a strange shape, like a slime with many disgusting eyes that rushed towards him.

  Hwoosh?

A gale came from nowhere and then surrounded the captain. The green rune on the captain's cutlass lit up, and green balls came out from the blade.

No monster dared to approach Kuangfeng, and they all retreated and stared at him. The captain glanced around without any interference. There was no human around, but a lot of monsters, a lot of monsters killing their kind.

"Weird... this trial seems not about the eye..." Captain Raigh whispered in his mind and suddenly realized something awful, "Wait, eye...?"

  .....

"What happened? Why are they killing each other?" Castor stayed on the corner in this area and asked in his mind.

Everyone seemed to have changed since they first stepped into this area. They were all talking to the air. Just now, he saw the captain calling his name into the air.

While they were chatting, two pirates suddenly unleashed their cutlasses and attacked each other, shouting 'monster!' and attacking. But everyone seemed not to hear it and continued chatting to the air.

"M-monster...! Where are other people?!" A pirate asked in a shaking tone. He held his cutlass and pointed at Castor.

"Everyone is here! What do you mean? What are you guys doing?" Castor frowned and replied, but it seemed that the pirate didn't hear it and charged towards him.

Castor realized that something was wrong and started to run away, while the pirates were chasing him closely.

Running away was definitely very difficult for him now. He had just lost a lot of blood and had to dodge the attacks of the pirates. He soon ran out of stamina.

"Ha... ha... ha... Don't... don't chase... me... haa..." Castor panted and said tiredly.

"Hmpf! Monster! You only know how to run?" That pirate asked loudly and kept chasing.

"Aahh! I said don't chase me!" Castor shouted and turned around because he couldn't run anymore.

"F-finally don't run...?" The pirate frowned and also stopped, "Then... die!"

"Ahhh! I don't want to die!" Castor shouted again and took a step forward. This action seemed scared that the pirate was a bit, he hesitated to slash his cutlass now.

Castor immediately took advantage of the pirate's hesitation and grabbed the hilt of the cutlass to try to take the weapon. The pirate fell down helplessly, trembling and shouting.

"AHHH!!! I'M SORRY! PLEASE DON'T EAT ME!!!" That pirate shouted, begging for mercy.

"...Huh?" Castor, dumbfounded, he stunned for a few moments and walked towards him.

"AHH!!! NOO! NOOO!" That pirate kept shouting.

"W-wake up! Can you see me? uh... I mean, can you hear me?" Castor shook the pirate's shoulder gently.

But the pirate seemed to have completely blocked his hearing and kept crying miserably. Amid the crying, Castor gradually realized that his words were useless and suddenly had the idea of ??slapping him.

And he raised his hand slowly...

  Pa!

Castor slapped the pirate with his chin, making a loud sound. The pirate stopped his miserable cry. Castor looked at him again and found that he seemed to be much calmer. After realizing that this method worked, he prepared to slap him again.

"Oh hey! Wait! Don't slap me!" That pirate shouted, "Castor? What happened here? Where is that monster?"

"What monster...?" Castor tilted his head and asked in confusion.

"Ugh, I saw many monsters here, everyone turned into monsters so suddenly." The pirate sat up and rubbed his cheeks gently, "It's hurt..."

"There is no monster... You guys are just killing each other!" Castor replied and pointed in a direction where Captain Raigh was fighting many pirates.

"Ayo?! What happened?!" The pirate shouted loudly, he rose up, "Stop fighting! Captain! Guys!!!"

"It doesn't work, don't waste the time." Castor explained, "They might not be able to hear us, and in their eye,s we might be the monster that you said. You just chased and tried to kill me a while ago."

"Hah?? I did that?! Oh my god! Please don't tell the captain!" That pirate knelt down and begged.

"Yeah, I won't, but let's make them calm first." Castor said.

"Alright! I will help you!" That pirate promised and rose again, "Uh... you slapped me, right? And then I wake up?"

  "Yes." Castor nodded.

"Okay! I got it! We need to slap them so they can wake up!" That pirate grinned, "I, Diego, will help you guys!"

Another pirate came over as he grinned. This time, there was blood on the blade, and behind him were his companions who lay on the ground with a pool of blood, he was dead. Now he seemed to be coming to kill Castor and Diego.

"Don't worry, Castor. I'm confident of beating him." Diego grinned wickedly, "I'm gonna slap you hard, Kyle."

"Be careful! Please don't die." Castor said and gave Diego his cutlass.

When Diego didn't take the weapon, the pirate Kyle swung the blade from top to bottom, and Diego dodged it by leaning sideways and hugged Kyle, and they both fell to the ground after losing their balance.

"Gah! Get out of me, monster!" Kyle shouted, but Diego had already kicked away his weapon.

"Haha, monster? Well then, here you go!"

  Pa!

"Um, he seemed to be actually strong... but why would he be so scared a while ago?" Castor asked in his mind and looked at their fight patiently.

"Gah! Dang you!" Kyle screamed and raised his fist, and hit Diego's face.

"Eh?" Diego was stunned. He thought Kyle would be calm, but it seemed he was wrong. When he saw the fist coming, it was too late.

The punch hit Diego hard in the face. He covered his face in pain, blood dripping from the gaps between his fingers.

"Oh no, why doesn't it work?" Castor was confused and took Kyle's cutlass from the floor.

"Hmpf! Stupid monsters! Think taking my weapon will work?! I still can beat you two ugly monsters with my fists!" Kyle sneered in disdain.

Just when Castor was thinking what part went wrong, a cry that miserable than Diego's echoed loudly in the area. Castor turned his head and saw that another pirate had died under Captain Raigh's cutlass.
