I Didnt Even Get To Wash My Hands

An average young-adult walked into one of many houses in a neighborhood.

As he goes inside, he thinks to himself:

'I got homework I know I should do, but I want to find a new book to read.'

  * * *

Like most lightnovel readers, I started as an anime-watcher.

Then I became a manga reader when I ran out of anime to watch.

Afterwards, I became a manwha/manhua reader when I ran out of manga to read.

Now, I've become light novel/web novel reader after running out of manwha and manhua to read.

  . . .

I hurled my backpack onto the side of my bed and sat down, talking to myself about how boring my life is.

"I want to say that I'd have a better time in an alternate fantasy reality, but if we're being completely honest, I'd get folded out of existence in less than 1 second after arriving.

Only people with overpowered abilities or genius intellects manage to survive and make a good life for themselves, and I'd be cocky if I thought I could be either.

I don't even know how I got caught up talking about this pointless subject since it will never happen anyways."

I heaved out a sigh, reluctantly placed my phone on my bed, and resolved myself to doing my homework after using the bathroom.

  . . .

I finished my business and went to wash my hands before pausing in front of the mirror.

Staring at my reflection, I only had one thought going through my head.

'Why did I have to be born so average-looking?'

The figure reflecting in the mirror had his back hunched over, miserably looking at himself with visible bags under his eyes.

His grey eyes, which would ordinarily be eye-catching, were extremely dull and overshadowed by his average looking face.

Tracing his finger against his jawline, he couldn't help frown at the fact that while his jawline was sharp, it wasn't very defined and had a soft look.

The ash undertones of his black hair created a slightly noticeable dark grey tint as the light reflected off of his bedhead.

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

  . . .

After stretching his arms and grunting a bit, he turned the cold water knob of the sink.

"I just need something to motivate me to get up in the morning and make me feel that maybe my life isn't boring and pointless."

As I turned on the water and reached for the bar of soap on the counter, my world suddenly turned black.

  . . .

  "Where the hell am I..."

I paused for a bit to try and get a better hold of my situation before I realized something.

"Wait a second.. I didn't even get to finish washing my fucking hands!"

As I recovered my bearings, I noticed that I was in a dim and expansive room with walls of stone brick and a floor of solid rock.

There were also some torches that allowed the floor and half of the walls to be visible. I also noticed that there were many people littered throughout the room who were just as confused as I was.

Some people looked at me for a second for my little outburst, but quickly went back to rambling to each other worridly.

I scanned the room and listed a few of my observations.

'Now let's analyze the situation. I'm in a giant stone room. with only torches as a source of light, three of the walls have a tunnel in the center while the fourth wall has one large gate, there are around 200 to 300 people in this room who look like they have no idea what's going on-'

I took another quick glance around the room, noticing old, run down medieval weapons scattered throughout the floor.

  '-We have definitely been isekaied.'

I looked in front of me, seing a slightly rusted and worn dagger.

'Looks like I have found my weapon of choice.'

  . . .

As I was getting ready to inspect my weapon, a giant magic circle on the floor illuminated golden light and a majestic figure emerged.

Bathing in the golden light's radiance, a woman that could only be described as divine emerged from the magic circle. Her golden locks floated in the air and her entire body emitted abundant golden light.

'It's definitely the goddess of this world. They're most likely here to tell us that we were sent here to save this realm and that must pass a tutorial in order to prove our worth.'

I paused before thinking: 'In novels, manhua, and manga alike, this is usually where people start to say things like 'This prank isn't funny!' or 'You better let us go before we call the cops!' However, it seems that these people have enough common sens-'

"HEY! THAT'S THE PERSON WHO PROBABLY TRAPPED US HERE! LET'S GET HER!"

The man who yelled picked up a rusted spear and charged in the goddess' direction before suddenly-

  "Enough."

As her words reverberated across the room, the goddess waved her hand and caused the other party to immediately dissipate in a blood mist.

  ...

I stood there, wide-eyed in disbelief.

'Holy shit... she erased him just like that..."

"I am the goddess of light, Luxarial, and I have appeared here in order to adjust you to the circumstances of your new reality."

  . . .

Half of the room was staring in wonder at the goddess, while the others still wore frightened expressions at the erasure of that one guy.

"Currently, you are in the tutorial realm that has been created by the gods in order to test hero candidates' skills and potential."

Her gaze swept across the room.

"After the completion of the tutorial, you will be summoned to a continent known as 'Etherion' by the common people."

Her hand then reached out and emitted beams of light that flew into everyone's chest in the room.

"This is the system the gods bestow upon the people of this reality. It will show you your status, including your strengths and weaknesses, to help you acclimate to this new world and choose a path to follow."

A screen seemingly made of energy appeared before me and most likely everyone else.

'This is it, my life might be getting more enjoya-'

  . . .

"What the fuck are these stats!?"
