Chapter Three: Student Leader

  Arjun started his day with a cup of coffee, and a brief recap of yesterday's events. With two officers tagging along, he quickly left the hotel, to start his investigation. He reached his first location, the regional party office, where the victim works.

  ?

  “We’ve heard you had a knack in cracking tough cases.” the party in charge said, “we request you to take this case seriously, and solve it as soon as possible.”

  “Definitely”

  ?

  After many formal handshakes, Arjun finally reached the person he was pnning to meet. Iqbal, a close friend of the victim.

  “Good morning sir”, Iqbal greeted.

  “Good morning. Today I came here to speak with you about your friend.”

  “He was a very good person. Always thinking about public welfare.”, he said, “Couldn’t think how anyone could do this.”

  “So how long have you known him?”

  “We have been close since we were in college. We have first met about 8 years ago”

  “Where did you both finish college?”

  “PVP*”, he answered “near Pune.”

  “Have you both had any conflicts in the past?” Arjun inquired, “eight years is a long time after all.”

  “We always do. That’s what I think makes us closer. We always argue about everything. I am a bit of an aggressive person. While he thinks a lot before doing anything. We frequently argue about doing things in a specific way.”

  “Have you ever encountered an enemy of any sort. A person who you might think holds a grudge on either of you?”

  “Not that I remember. We never fought with anyone specifically. We always fought against the system to get justice for the poor.” he replied, “Never in our lives, we fought with an individual.”

  “Try to remember. Did you guys have any conflicts while in college?” Arjun pressured, “An aggressive person is a magnet for trouble.”

  “Not that I remember, but we used to have small arguments with everyone.” he said thinking, “Nothing quite big to remember.”

  “That is interesting. Thank you for your time Iqbal.”

  “No problem sir.” he smiled, “I’ll help you with the case anytime.”

  Arjun immediately went to another important pce before having lunch. It is the pce where the victim regurly visits. After taking some interviews, he reached his hotel.

  “This belongs to the college days” Arjun thought, “All these people have some connection to that college. This is not the work of some small time criminal. It was a pnned revenge.” After heading into his room to rex, he thought “Where sould I head next?” he pondered, “to the college or to another location of crime.”
