Chapter 14 – Nightmares

"We're home." Haruo announced as he, Sota, Hanae, Hayate and Fumihito stood at the front door, while the boys took off their shoes, Hanae was about to walk onto the floor with her boots, but a gre from Haruo caused her to change her shoes as Fuyuko approached from the living room, she was still reading her book since the five left.

"Welcome back, you've all been out longer then usual." Fuyuko beamed as she approached the group.

"We, got caught up with some shit at the store." Haruo admitted, feeling a bit embarrased that they were out for long when Fuyuko pointed it out.

"I broke a pte and---Haruo met someone!" Hanae chimed in, interrupting Haruo as he snapped his head towards Hanae in anger.

"Hanae!" He shouted, his face turning red, he didn't want anyone to bring up that he talked to Celosia tonight, as it was going to be the only time he's going to talk to a human like her.

"What? It's true though!" Hanae looked confused to Haruo.

"And you seemed to really like talking to her." She pointed out.

"More so then us." Hanae mumbled a little, she was getting annoyed with how Haruo would get angry with some people like her, Hayate, Fumihito and Masaru but is alright when talking to others such as Sota and that Celosia girl.

"What's wrong with talking to someone?" Fuyuko was confused with why Haruo was getting angry at Hanae just because he talked to someone.

"Look, it's." Haruo started to get angry again as he looked at everyone in the room.

"Ugh, fuck, it doesn't matter Fuyuko, she's a human, a human that I'm only talking too once, so if your going to get angry about that, then don't bother." Haruo chided.

"She's attending Conway High School like any other human on this Isnd, so we and everyone else in this room won't be seeing her again." Haruo then shoved his hands in his pockets and began making his way towards the stairs, his mood soured.

And yet, it was less because of the other kaijus interest that he talked to someone who wasn't Vio, and more of the fact that Celosia seemed like a nice girl, but, she wasn't like them, or anyone else in Fmel who are, different then the human residents.

She's just going to find some friends at Conway's and forget about someone like him anyway. He'll just be some weird freak that she only met once and would probably make fun of with her new friends.

That's what he was, a freak, like what she said to him. Haruo looked up the stairs in silence, a sad look appearing on his face.

It was a nice conversation while it sted though.

"Haruo wait, What about dinner?" Sota asked, raising his bag.

"I'll have it ter, I'm not hungry." He stomped his way upstairs, as Hanae sighed.

"I shouldn't have said anything, again." Hanae sulked, but Hayate patted her back as comfort.

"He would have gotten upset over something anyway, let's just leave him be for now." Hayate suggested. Fumihito and Sota walked past Fuyuko as they entered the dining room, with Fuyuko herself nodding at Hayate's suggestion.

"Hayate's right, Haruo, is just going through a lot right now." Fuyuko turned back towards the stairs, looking at them sadly.

"I just hope he tells us about it soon." Fuyuko hoped, clenching her hands a little as she, Hanae and Hayate followed Fumihito and Sota into the dining room.

Haruo soon reached his room, and slowly slid down onto his red floor once he closed his door.

Taking a deep breath, Haruo looked around his room, his bed covers were neatly folded as it was everyday, he had a punching bag at one of the corners of the room with weights lined up next to them, but dust was gathering on the weights due to them being unused for awhile.

Haruo shook his head, his mind going back to Celosia, but he had to forget about that now, like he already told everyone downstairs, it was only going to be a one time thing.

He realised that Goro was running low on his medicine and needed a fresh batch of it soon. Seeing as how he didn't have anything to do tomorrow, he could go to the Hospital to get more, it would help him get out of bed and fight through the fatigue he has recently.

Celosia, found herself in bed, and yet, she felt as though she wasn't in the attic anymore. This pce felt rge, cold, empty, like she had fallen into a barren world where everything had ended, and Celosia was the only person left.

As she opened her eyes, she noticed that she was in a rge bck void.

She turned and looked down, the floor was pitch bck, she was even hesitant to get up from the bed and step on It.

But then, she heard something, a man, grunting in pain, suddenly, she would hear something else besides the man, it was the sound of kicking.

The kicking and grunting were coming nearby, Celosia finally got out of bed to walk around, no longer caring about the floor, in fact, nothing happened when she stepped on it.

"Hello!?" Celosia called out, the kicking and the grunting grew louder as she walked further into this void, but as she continued walking, both the grunting and kicking soon stopped.

And it was repced with the man breathing heavily, and followed by some words.

"I- so--y" Celosia could barely make out those words, as they sounded deep and too hard to make out, she stopped walking in this strange void she was in and tried to listen to the man again.

"--- being --upi-" The man's voice became more clearer this time and as Celosia listened, she saw something up ahead, it looked to be a green hallway of some kind, it wasn't the same type of green hallways like in Peter and Evelyn's house however, it was from another house entirely.

There, she saw two silhouetted figures, one was id down on the ground, holding their side as if in pain, it was likely the man who was kicked, the other figure was standing in front of them, looking down at them.

Two other figures began to slowly approach behind the figure, they were talking, but Celosia couldn't make out what they were saying again, she tried to look closer but also couldn't make out any features of the four figures either.

Finally, the middle standing figure turned towards the figures behind them and said in a voice that Celosia recongised as female.

  "Hold him down."

The two figures approached the one on the floor and grabbed hold of him, the silhouetted man was sturggling to break free, moving slowly at the two figures held him down, as if he was reluctant to break free.

"Hey!" Celosia began running over towards the hallway and towards the four figures, she yelled at the female figure.

"Stop that, let him go!" She yelled, when the female figure suddenly did something that terrorised her.

The female figure raised her leg and suddenly stomped as hard as she could into the man's ankle, deep enough to make a rge bone breaking crack, to be heard in this strange abyss everyone had found themselves in.

Orange mustard blood splurted out from the figure's ankle, only his ankle was revealed in his silhouetted appearance as he cried out in pain. The orange mustard blood spshed onto the female figure's leg, revealing the gray shoe that she wore, white skin and a part of her leg.

"LEAVE, HIM, ALONE!" Celosia screamed, she ran over towards the figures as hard as she could, wanting to stop the female figure from hurting him.

Her fist clenched, the only weapon that she had, Celosia was prepared to smash them into the female's figure's face and bash her brains open to get her to stop hurting the man.

But as she did, the female figure raised her head, as if she had finally noticed Celosia. Her bulging pink eyes fshed at Celosia, shineing onto her like headlights of a car, and Celosia was the deer about to smash into them due to being stunned by the sudden fsh.

When the lights cleared, the green hallway was gone, as was the figures, Celosia was alone now, but, she wasn't in the void, she was in, Fmel's forest. "Huh, what!?" She looked around, recongising the rge dark trees towering all around her, she could feel the wet dirt and leafs under her leafs as she looked around them in confusion.

She was outside now, why was she here? Was this even a dream anymore, it felt more lucid then the dreams she usually had.

That man, Celosia recongised his voice---

Suddenly, someone grabbed her shoulder, tightly, to stop her in pce, a white hand, in anger, she turned towards the figure with a short gasp.

To see that it was him again, the man in the trench coat, staring straight down at her, his face a silhouette like everyone she's seen already in this strange pce, all except his eyes, the same kind of eyes Celosia had seen in the forest earlier.

Celosia jolted awake, It was morning now and she was back in the attic after that nightmare.

Those figures in that hallway, the man in the forest, and those cries of pain the male silhouette made when his ankle was broken open and that strange orange mustard blood splurted out of him like that, that was what Celosia thought about the most in her dream, when she was suddenly interrupted by the loud and angry knocks of her mother coming from the door downstairs.

"Celosia, are you going to get up!?" Isobel yelled from behind the door.

"This is the fifth time I've called on you this morning and your ignoring me again!" As Isobel continued calling from the door.

Celosia zily moved from her bed, rubbing the side of her head, she was currently a dark green shirt and long grey pants as she yawned, her hair was a mess and her hairclip lying on a nearby drawer.

At this point she has gotten so used to her mother yelling at her over every little thing that she does that it was just white noise to her now, so she couldn't tell if her mother was yelling instructions at her or she was angry with her over something.

"Why Is the door locked?" Isobel tugged on the door a few times, much to her chagrin it still wouldn't open, did Celosia lock it somehow behind her back?

Celosia moved towards the top of the stairs, and looked down towards the door.

  "It's jammed." She lied.

"I'm going to force it open!" Isobel yelled.

"Why are you calling me again? You don't often call me down for breakfast anyway." Celosia called on her mother, after a pause, Isobel answered.

"We're seeing Evelyn today at the Hospital, did you forget?" Isobel asked, followed by a scoff.

"I knew you would." She snarled, Celosia, remained silent.

She didn't forget, although she wished she did.

She made a promise to see Evelyn at the Hospital after she went into a coma, and yet, Celosia was scared of going there, she didn't want to see her aunt connected to all of those tubes and wires, it doesn't feel right with her.

They were supposed to help Evelyn wake up, but, she didn't want to see her in that condition, she shouldn't even be in this condition in the first pce.

Just picturing what Evelyn looked like in her hospital room, left Celosia with a sickening feeling in her stomach, it felt like watching a corpse of someone you care about being hung up in some kind of circus freakshow for people to ugh and mock at.

Besides her father, the rest of the family, didn't want to go and see Evelyn, but felt as though they were obliged to do so for the sake of Evelyn being apart of their family.

Damon and Damian especially seemed annoyed by these hospital trips, not because they share the same feelings as Celosia did with seeing their mother hooked up to machines and wires, but because, in their own words when Isobel told them about the trips, they thought it was a waste of time and cared for other things, pissing Celosia off.

She wanted to smack those pricks faces to the side when they said that but restrained herself for once, knowing that Isobel would go ballistic if she saw retaliating against the twins.

Celosia didn't want to break the promise she made to Evelyn, she was going to visit her today, she knew she could.

"I'll be down soon." Celosia answered her mother.

"And I'll unjam the door." She added, hoping that it would cause Isobel to leave, after hearing an annoyed sigh escape from her mother. Celosia heard Isobel's footsteps move away from the door, and soon, the footsteps became distant, until Celosia couldn't hear them anymore.
