I’m not sure what I was expecting to see inside that cell. A man wrought in dignity and honor, or a man steeped in guilt and trampled down into a shell of himself. Whatever it is I was thinking, I just had to look inside and see.
My breath left my body as he was just standing there, looking out back at me with those stern, focused eyes. Just like the st time I saw him. He was stronger looking, more filled out, and his hair was neatly cut down. He stood tall, gazing at me with a confused look now. He pointed at me, shaking his hand, “V…Vixie?”
I holstered my gun, “I’m surprised you remember me.” I did a little twirl, showing off my new body. “It’s been a long time. I did what you said. I found my freedom. I found a family.”
Gabriel rubbed his hand through his hair, “That’s wonderful. All these years, I would think of you from time to time and hope that you made something of yourself and that you were living the life you deserved. I’m happy to see…”
I cut him off by hugging him tight, pushing my head into his chest. I could feel his arms wrap around me hesitantly. I could hear his heart beating through his chest.
“Ahem.” I gnced behind me to see Uwu standing there.
I smiled back at him, “This is Gabriel. We got what we came for.”
Uwu walked up to us, keeping his distance, eyeballing Gabriel with suspicion. I knew the Anthros wouldn’t be so quick to judge him. They had been on the receiving end of his wrath in the past. They didn’t have to forgive him, or even like him, they just had to tolerate him until my pn was in action. Then he could go his own way again.
“Nice to meet you, Captain Uwu, of the Yiffin II.” Uwu held out his hand for Gabriel.
“Gabriel. Not sure how much you know about me.” He shook Uwu’s hand.
I leaned into Uwu, “This is my man. My choice.” I smiled from ear to ear, “We travel the gaxy together, with my other family. You’ll meet them soon enough. Just don’t get too scared. They can be a bit much.”
“Captain!” Echo’s raspy voice called for Uwu. “It’s time to blow this joint. We got a restless group of prisoners ready for action.”
“First. Let’s stop that train from blowing up the station. Next, let’s hit the Reds and teach them who owns this city.” Uwu puffed his chest out proudly commanding the situation, “Then we head back to HQ. It’s time to end this war once and for all.” Uwu pat Gabriel’s shoulder, “And you have your part to py yet.”
Uwu turned and gathered the crew.
Gabriel looked at me, “What does he mean by that? I don’t harm people anymore. I took an oath.”
I punched him in the arm, “Sometimes people need to be harmed to save others, wouldn’t you agree? Plus, you won’t be harming anyone. You’re just the key.” I pulled my gun out and twirled it around my finger as I turned to leave, swaying my hips hard.
“Wait, what do you mean by that?’ Gabreil trailed behind me, catching up.
I just smiled and regrouped with the others. My heart was going crazy. We were finally in the st stage of our pns. If all went well, we would be off this moon in a week, enjoying a well-earned vacation with our piles of money. I was tired of this war. The end couldn’t come soon enough.
