The main instinct for the gray alien known as Chares was to hide when he heard voices coming his way. They were mostly shouting commands in both English and Vietnamese. Commander Bao and his men arrived first before Colonel Bryce and Lt. Colonel Tony.
"Ha, the crash site!" laughed Commander Bao.
The Vietnamese soldiers went to work by heading into the interior of the ship, they were amazed with all of the technology the hsip had to offer.
"Where do we start"? asked one of the Vietnamese soldiers.
"Just pick and choose any, take back to the military base" said Commander Bao.
Bao didn't want to wait for his American counterparts to arrive -- Colonel Bryce and his men were just a few paces away.
"Can't believe they got ahead of us" sighed Lt. Colonel Tony.
"Well it's their jungle and they know it better than we do" added Colonel Bryce.
Chares could see both Vietnamese and American soldiers working together. He couldn't believe that the three dozen men or so would make it all but impossible for him to escape.
"There's just gotta be a way I can find something to distract them with" thought Chares.

Chares gazed around and noticed what appeared to be a snake. Though it wasn't venomous, he was hoping he could frighten either group of soldiers.
Chares used some nearby fruit that he used to paint the snake to make it seem more threatening. He then tossed it towards where the American soldiers were.
"POISONOUS SNAKE!" cried one of the soldiers.
The Vietnamese soldiers simply laughed at their American counterparts.
"Look, they're afraid of a snake!" laughed one Vietnamese soldier.
Chares' ploy was working -- though neither group had been around each other for much long resentment was quickly building up.
I'll handle this" said another American soldier.
The soldier fired a few rounds killing the poor snake.
"And now they wasted ammo!" laughed another Vietanmese soldier.
The Vietanmese soldiers saw the American soldiers as clowns with this sort of behavior that Chares had caused. Colonel Bryce did his best trying to be professional around Commander Bao.
"Hey, they found the saucer first," said another American soldier.
"It's ours!" cried Commander Bao.
Chares knew he had to first find a way to destroy his own saucer if he wanted to continue. He headed towards a nearby village hoping to find some explosives. Surely enough there were plenty of explosives -- most leftover from the Vietnamese War. He didn't seem to mind taking a few with him.
"Time to destroy my saucer first" laughed Chares.
Chares carefully headed back to where his saucer was, he could see more of a shouting match between the two sides.
"We're not getting anywhere by being like this", said Lt. Colonel Tony.
Despite being a lower rank, Tony was doing his very best trying to mediate everything.
"There's enough of the saucer to go around for all sides" said Colonel Bryce.
But Commander Bao wouldn't budge, he and his men were already barricading themselves around the saucer.
"It'd be just like old times, but we're guarding the saucer" said Commander Bao.
Colonel Bryce knew things would get worse before they'd get better.
