Chapter 20: The Dean Makes a Grand Entrance

Keli led the way, with Bosti whispering to Liu Sen behind him: "Hey, Liu Sen, don't you think they're being too much?"

Though they were whispering, their voices were not low.

Liu Sen frowned: "I only have one question. If both you and I are men and approach the hall at the same time, how could he possibly empty our coins, which are not the same, at the same time?" Because of different identities, there's a reasonable difference in prices between men and women, but if we are both men, how can he expin that?

Bosti couldn't answer, but Keli in front could: "If we are all men, one of our receptionists will fancy one of the guys. By the time that guy has had a drink and comes out, theoretically, both men should have an equal amount of coins on them!"

Bosti sighed: "Respected instructor, you should have become a businessman! If you were, you would definitely be the richest businessman on the continent!... Don't you think so, fellow student Liu Sen?"

Liu Sen sighed even deeper: "Now I really wish you weren't a man... If you were a man, that dy would definitely fancy me. A drink worth 43 gold coins, that's really something to ponder!" The logic was simple, he had 43 more coins than Bosti.

Bosti gred at him: "You shouldn't be a magician either, you should have been a robber, specializing in robbing women!"

Liu Sen widened his eyes: "How did you know? I used to do just that!"

Bosti excimed: "I've changed my mind, I won't switch to wind magic. If I were in the same css as you, I would die of frustration!"

Ahead was a tall building, made of white stone, towering and vast, with many students entering and exiting, their elegant strides reflecting their sense of superiority. Upon seeing the trio approaching, one tall, thin student ran over, shouting from afar: "Instructor Keli, making a fortune again today?"

"Yes, Mr. Geman!" Keli smiled: "For several days, it's been all about sending students to the left zone, I've lost quite a few pounds. Today, finally, two for the right zone."

"You losing weight?" The young man, Geman, ughed loudly: "You've earned thousands of gold coins from me alone, you won't lose weight in ten years!"

Thousands of gold coins, was there a bigger fool than oneself?

Left zone, right zone? It seems they are sending students to different living areas based on their previous status. The right zone must be the wealthy area of the school, and the left zone, the poor area. This is their only credential after entering the school: left or right.

Liu Sen and Bosti were fortunate to become two new paupers of this wealthy area.

The money was already spent, and regret was useless. Bosti, who had become rich overnight and then returned to her original state in a moment, finally came to terms with it. She stretched her card towards the designated room, and the door silently opened. The girl was visibly pleased; no matter what, she liked this room. It was a high-css living space, with monster fur on the floor, a living room, and a bathroom. Although the room was not rge, the air and sunlight were good. Opening the curtains, the cool breeze from the vast forest outside blew in. Sitting at the window on the third floor, the entire academy was in view. Not bad, such a room was indeed not something one could live in indefinitely for a few dozen gold coins.

There was a knock on the door, and Bosti opened it to find a tall and handsome guy standing there, Liu Sen, with a smile on his face: "Bosti, it seems we're quite fated, to have our rooms together!"

Bosti's face lit up with joy: "Really? That's great!" She seemed to have forgotten all about keeping her distance from him. Living next to him, she didn't die of anger but instead was joyful.

"Yes, in this school, I only know you!" said Liu Sen: "It's great to be together often, discussing magic, isn't it?"

"But, we're studying different kinds of magic!" Bosti frowned: "Also, I feel discussing magic in the room should... should be better with two girls. Are there any girls on this floor?"

"Yes!" Liu Sen affirmed: "Next to my room lives one, she seemed quite cold towards me, probably got scammed out of her money, hasn't calmed down yet. There are several others, each pretty..." His voice trailed off, as he himself felt somewhat unnatural. Why did it seem that all the rooms he saw coming in and out were girls'? Did he not see a single guy on this floor?

"This is good, really good!" The girl patted her chest cutely: "If that detestable instructor had arranged me alone among boys, I would suspect he was retaliating against me!"

"Let's see... let's sneak a peek!" Liu Sen leaned by the door, quietly observing the surroundings. A room opened, revealing a slender foot, then upwards, a high chest. The second, first a delicate ugh, then two girls came out side by side, the third... the fourth...

Bosti turned towards Liu Sen, her expression somewhat unnatural: "Should I congratute you? So many women around you!"

Liu Sen smiled bitterly: "I'm afraid this old guy made a mistake, this is the girls' building!"

"Fun! Fun!" Bosti cpped and ughed loudly: "I don't have to worry about being bullied by others!"

Such words could be spoken? Liu Sen stared at her proud smiling face, finally rexed, and murmured: "You're not worried, but I am... I'm worried about being bullied by so many girls!"

Why is that? After going around downstairs, Liu Sen understood. This wasn't just him experiencing such a fortune; the entire tall building, all nine floors divided into several areas, housing over two hundred people, was almost entirely mixed-gender, cleverly pcing a man in the center of women, or a woman in the center of men.

The other dozen or so tall buildings were almost exactly the same, with over four thousand people in the school, the male to female ratio was quite banced. Except for the poor in the left zone, who were of the same sex and crammed dozens into one rge room, the right zone was like this.

It's said this can train one's quality. Most of these people are young, living next to the opposite sex, whether male or female, will have a psychology of wanting to attract the attention of the opposite sex. Thus, they will desperately show themselves. In the Magic Academy, the best way to show oneself is to study magic hard. This is a modern psychological application in another world.

Those pced at the center of the opposite sex, the exceptions, are generally those the academy intentionally cultivates, letting them develop a unique character in this unique environment.

Girls, under the gaze of many boys, can develop a proud temperament, while boys, surrounded by many girls, can develop a kind of domineering presence, truly a well-thought-out pn.

Knowing this, Liu Sen accepted the blessings from the boy called Geman (he was a duke's son, also among the circle of beauties), but he didn't understand why. He understood and accepted the academy's stimution methods, but he didn't know why Instructor Keli knew he was different, making him an intentionally cultivated object of the academy—was it his generosity that the instructor liked?

Only this expnation fit. Although Keli was an instructor, he was different from other instructors. He didn't teach magic, and his status among students wasn't high, but as a businessman, he naturally liked generous students. And Bosti, though she was prettier than average girls, still had to stay with many other girls, not specially arranged among boys for cultivation, probably due to her stinginess.

After listening to Liu Sen's proud introduction (interspersed with several of his own imagined deductions), Bosti scoffed: "Focus on cultivating you? Aren't they afraid of turning you into a big hooligan?"

No cultivation needed for that. If that really was the goal, Liu Sen wouldn't need to come out. On Wind God Isnd, he could be the biggest hooligan, a pce truly good for cultivating hooligans, a hundred times better than here.

Css started! The first css was actually a mixed one, all new students who arrived within three days attended together. Thus, Liu Sen and Bosti ended their discussion on hooligans, changed into the school's specially issued uniforms, and entered a huge cssroom. Just as they sat down, the door slowly closed, the room darkened.

Above the ptform, an old man slowly stretched out his hands, tips of his fingers on both hands igniting with a spark. A fire magic instructor specially serving as a torchbearer? Liu Sen was excited, he had seen fire magic, but the fire magicians on the isnd were too weak—only good for heating hot spring pools, let's see what's different here.

The old man swung his hands, suddenly the room lit up, dozens of sparks crisscrossed, shooting towards all directions. With a loud bang on the walls, fmes bzed, these sparks igniting the mps on the walls. Liu Sen was startled, just this action alone showed the instructor's strength. With a single wave of his hand, forty to fifty sparks flew out simultaneously, each accurately lighting a mp, without a single miss!

The crowd erupted in cheers, among the cheers, the old man slightly bowed: "Please welcome Dean Sugs!"

The dozens of people beside him also stood up and bowed slightly. Among them were men and women, fat and thin. From afar, Liu Sen couldn't see their faces clearly, only hearing nearby students discussing in low voices: "Heard the dean is one of the nine great magicians on the continent, really want to see how powerful he is!"

"Which instructor isn't powerful, recognize that fire magic instructor just now? He is the fire magic magician: Kir."

"Was that the Starry Sky he made famous at the Magic Guild? Truly powerful... a single move can attack dozens of enemies, and the speed is incredibly fast..."

The cssroom's skylight slowly opened, sunlight from above shining down, like the curtain of a huge stage being drawn, the roof ten feet high reaching for the sky. All students fell silent, looking upwards.

Could this dean be descending from the sky? Liu Sen also looked up, a white figure suddenly appearing in his line of sight, truly falling from the sky, his descent so slow, as if suspended by a rope from above, long hair fluttering. The face of the white figure slowly enrged, revealing a lean old man about sixty years old.

"Dean!" Everyone on the stage simultaneously pced one hand on their chest and bowed.

"Dean!" The students below also shouted crazily, this was too exciting, a man flying, freely descending from such a height. Could the Feather Wind Art really reach such a non-human level? Liu Sen was extremely excited in his heart. He was studying wind magic, and this dean was actually a great wind magic magician, theoretically the highest-level wind magician he could meet (there were some magicians who transcended ordinary humans and entered a godly realm, but these people no longer operated in the mundane world and were impossible to meet). Just this entrance made him greatly interested in wind magic.

"Children!" Three words spoken, all cheering stopped, "I am Sugs!"

Another wonderful application of wind magic, his voice carried by the wind so far, seeming very effortless, but Liu Sen, even at the very back, heard it clearly and distinctly.
