Chapter 5: The Wordless Monument and the Dance of Flames

After freeing Beth's parents and making profound love to her, Beth changed. She became exceptionally obedient, doing anything he liked—massaging his back if he wished, and dancing when asked. Her dance resembled the unduting waves of the sea, smooth and gracefully curved. He liked to hold her while sitting at the window, watching the outside world. For this, she would put on a soft dress for him to hold her in. To facilitate his caresses, she intentionally chose a loose, long robe, naturally wearing nothing underneath. He liked to kiss her, so she dabbed a bit of fragrant powder on her face and cleaned her lips, ready for his kiss.

Liu Sen experienced what could only be described as heaven. Ordinarily, upon arriving somewhere, he would explore around, but he ended up not stepping out of the room the entire day. When the mood struck, he would lift Beth onto the bed, where her cooperation exceeded that in the pool, and she began to moan. Afterward, he took a deep breath, dispelled the sleepiness, then got out of bed to prepare some food for him.

The next day, Liu Sen finally left the room. The lovely little Beth kneeled at the door to see him off—a habit not particurly good, one that ought to be changed someday. Liu Sen, satisfied, walked towards the back, where a massive pza y, entirely paved with bluestone. Beyond that was a high ptform, atop which stood a towering monument. Beneath the monument was a gigantic sculpture of a tortoise-dragon, crafted from bluestone, not a real tortoise-dragon, but it carried more majesty than a real one.

"That is the Wind God's Altar!" Grus said respectfully, "Would the young master like to have a look?"

"Let's go!" Liu Sen, somewhat excited, stepped forward. This monument felt strangely familiar, perhaps the only thing simir to that other world. In that world, many historical sites featured this design, a tortoise-dragon as the base and bluestone for the monument, recording an ancient legend. Let's see what this one records.

He had walked far, but Grus and Naka behind him surprisingly stood still. Liu Sen looked back, "Come on, why aren't you moving?"

Both bowed simultaneously, "The Wind God's Altar, only the isnd's ruling family may approach, please forgive us!"

So that was it, this scenic spot was quite exclusive, allowing no more than twenty people to appreciate the view up close! Liu Sen strode up the steps and finally stood at the highest point, which was a ptform overlooking the entire isnd. In front was the sea, endless to the eye, while the other three sides were fields and forests, with only the farthest pces showing traces of the sea. The isnd was truly vast; the shore of the ke they had crossed earlier with fast horses seemed just a rge bathtub in comparison.

The monument that caught his attention stood between two mountains, towering ten meters high. Liu Sen looked up, it was a peculiar monument, its surface smooth as a mirror, white as jade, almost reflecting his own image, with no text but a strange pattern resembling cloud formations in satellite images, indicating a storm.

What did this mean? Wind God, does it imply their reverence for the natural storms and winds? How was this pattern made? There were no traces of carving on the monument; these patterns seemed like other colors concealed within the white jade, formed naturally or by some magic?

Looking up for too long made Liu Sen dizzy, the patterns becoming elusive. Suddenly, everything around him darkened, the patterns moved as if a cloud formation was spinning, initially blurred then becoming clear, with faint winds surrounding him, as if he was standing in the center of a storm. A lightning bolt lit up deep within the clouds, with a loud boom, Liu Sen felt a sharp pain in his eyelids and his body shook violently, as if his blood flow sped up in that moment.

After the lightning, everything was clear, his eyes brightened. Liu Sen, supporting himself on a nearby rock, heart pounding, saw nothing on the monument, its entire surface clear as a mirror, the initial spinning formation seeming like an illusion.

What happened? Liu Sen searched again but found nothing. His gaze fell, and his eyes widened, standing next to the monument was a girl wearing very little, her top barely covering her not-so-rge breasts, and her short skirt only reaching her thighs. Her eyes fixed straight on him, with a smile, making her round face appear like a doll's.

"Brother!" the girl called crisply, "Are you dizzy? Why stare so fixedly at the back of the monument?"

Brother? Was this his sister? Which one, older or younger? Liu Sen scratched his head, "Who are you? I don't remember!"

  "I knew you wouldn't remember… I am Roka!"

"Roka?" Liu Sen frowned, "I remember Roka is supposed to be my second sister, right? Are you seventeen?"

The girl giggled delicately, "You remember what others say, huh... Alright, I admit, I am Xiuka, to avoid confusing you further, lest grandfather scolds me again!"

Liu Sen smiled wryly, "I'm already confused! Xiuka, that sounds more like it, the notoriously mischievous little girl... So, this is the back of the monument?" Xiuka was his younger sister, only fourteen years old.

"You really are confused!" Xiuka came over, taking his hand, "Come here, this is the front, there's nothing on the back, what's there to see?"

The front indeed looked much better, with two bright red characters: "Wind God"! Simple and clear, imposing and aesthetically pleasing at first gnce. Liu Sen shook his head, "This monument is quite strange, the tortoise-dragon's head is clearly facing that way, but this side is actually the front."

"Are you really clueless or pretending?" Xiuka snorted, "Wind God Isnd uses the tortoise-dragon as a servant, how can we face it directly? Naturally, it faces forward, and we look from behind!"

Liu Sen understood, Wind God Isnd used the tortoise-dragon not only as a servant but as a pathfinder, not in opposition to it!

Thus, they viewed the tortoise-dragon from behind, facing forward, while he faced it directly. From the perspective of Wind God Isnd's young master, the tortoise-dragon indeed did not qualify to face him directly. But why could he see the patterns on the back of the monument? And why did those patterns disappear?

Where did the patterns go? His blood boiled, not settling for a long time. Had something happened?

Below, a shout came, "Akrus, are you up there?" It was his brother's voice!

Liu Sen turned from behind the monument, "Brother, I'm here!"

"Come, to my room, I have something cool to show you!" Alto called excitedly, "You'll definitely like it!"

"Okay! I'm coming too… Let's go!" Xiuka grabbed Liu Sen's hand, jumping up.

"You're not allowed to come!" Alto scolded loudly, "Men's games, why would a girl interfere?"

"So it's that again!" Xiuka's brow furrowed, "I won't go then."

That again? Men's affairs? Liu Sen's heartbeat slightly quickened, having just experienced the pleasure with Beth, he was rather interested in being a man. His brother was indeed a caring and considerate brother, coming all the way here.

Descending from the ptform, his brother warmly took his hand and led the way, followed by five people—his brother's two guards, Grus, Naka, and Xiuka. Xiuka followed a few steps then stopped, shouting from a distance, "Father doesn't like you doing that, be careful, I'm telling father!"

"Grandfather said, that's how men should be!" Alto ughed loudly, "Father has approved, little girl, obviously upset because she can't join the fun!"

Everyone ughed, and Xiuka stomped her foot, finally running away.

This was a huge room, seemingly not for living, and indeed it was not—it was a huge swimming pool! A swimming pool, Liu Sen's heart warmed, would there be a beauty waiting for his favor in the pool? His gaze sharpened, and he smiled, indeed there was a beauty in the pool, leaning against the side, her hair spread out. As soon as she sees someone enter, she quickly lifts her head, giving Liu Sen a jolt with just that simple gnce.

What a beautiful girl, yet so peculiar. Her hair and eyes are blue, reminiscent of the azure sea, and her skin is as white as jade. The combination of blue and white, highlighted by her small red lips, makes her the most beautiful flower in the pool. Was she prepared for him? When did his brother learn about his newfound interest in making love in water? Could Beth have inadvertently revealed it?

The girl's expression is cold, with intense hatred in her pale blue eyes, looking at Liu Sen as if he had just killed her parents. This look immediately makes Liu Sen uncomfortable, quickly dispelling the lust he had begun to feel. Could this be another act of coercion?

"This girl excels in dancing!" Alto ughs, "I will welcome my brother with the Dance of Fmes!"

Dancing, that's good! It's certainly more acceptable than other things. Under the girl's gaze filled with hatred, he doesn't find the idea of making love as appealing as he thought. Liu Sen rexes a bit, "It's rare for my brother to show interest, I'll join you to watch the performance!"

"Great!" Alto gestures with his hand, "Begin!"

As his voice falls, several men in bck at the edge of the pool suddenly step forward, stretching out their right hands, and over ten fmes shoot into the pool water, immediately illuminating the room. In the glow of the fmes, everyone's faces turn red with excitement and agitation.

Liu Sen's face turns pale, as he observes the fmes entering the pool, producing a hissing steam. These people are fire magicians, heating the pool water, but what about the person in the water? The Dance of Fmes, is it meant to come at the expense of harming this girl's body?
