Chapter 36: The Earth Spirit, the Woman and the Dog (Part 2)

From the moment the Xenomorphs launched their attack, the fate of the dwarves was already sealed.

Compared to the dwarves, the Xenomorphs' attacks are more brutal, bloody and efficient. They can trample a goblin to death while simultaneously using their tail to impale its comrades with a chilling precision, and those sharp teeth and claws are also not to be underestimated as weapons. Although the Xenomorphs themselves are not particularly hardy, they are sufficient against the rusty, low-damage and poorly maintained weapons wielded by the goblins.

Accompanied by the roar of rushing into the crowd of goblins, the alien creature looked like a giant elephant rushing into a pack of hyenas, wherever it went, people and horses were overturned. And their tails, which were two or three meters long, seemed to be deadly scythes that killed without seeing blood, sweeping over the goblins as if they were harvested wheat, falling in batches.

And among them, two huge alien forms are particularly prominent.

A towering figure, entirely black from head to toe, but unlike other aberrations, its lower body was not supported by powerful hind legs. Instead, the creature's lower half took on a serpentine form, with a robust and muscular snake-like body that allowed it to slither agilely through obstacles and crevices. The inner fangs protruding from its mouth were twice as long as those of other aberrations, resembling sharp javelins that shot out and retracted with deadly precision. In the blink of an eye, the gnomes surrounding it stumbled and fell, their heads severed from their bodies.

As for the other one, it was short and stumpy, looking even shorter than Jenn. Its thin body made it look more like a human from a distance rather than an alien. Its hind legs were also different from those of the other aliens - the forked legs looked more like goat hooves. On either side of the alien's long, arrow-shaped head, two curved, knife-like bone spurs protruded from its arms, making them look more like scimitars. But judging by the goblin corpses that had been torn and stabbed to pieces, this thing was clearly deadly.

Not only that, this deformed creature's speed was extremely fast, it was almost like lightning as it darted through the earth spirit group, wherever it went, all that could be seen were bloodstains and the earth spirits' heads flying high into the air.

  Everything is going smoothly.

Zhan Er withdrew his gaze, unable to help but admit that the evolution of the opposite sex was indeed powerful. The two deformed creatures born from Taifeng's leader and the Snake People's captain had perfectly absorbed their evolution, even their fighting style began to take shape. Of course, this also had something to do with the fact that those two individuals were strong enough. It seems that in the future, he should find a few more strong guys to parasitize, so that the resulting deformed creatures will become stronger.

Just as Zhan En was lost in thought, the battle had already reached its final stage.

They can't escape, they can't fight back, and with the death of their leader, the earth elementals are thrown into an inexpressible panic. They become increasingly confused, no longer paying attention to the knives and claws that are right next to them. However, this is a good thing for Torg's dwarf warriors, at least they can carry out the massacre more easily.

The battle lasted less than ten minutes before it was almost over, with hundreds of goblins nearly being slaughtered by the alien and dwarf warriors. Looking around, one could see the remains and fragments of goblin huts everywhere, as well as a pungent smell of blood.

Zhan En walked among them, treading on the slippery remains and thick blood as he moved forward. This scene on the battlefield was not unfamiliar to him, although on Earth, Zhan En had never participated in any war. But in the Demon Realm, war was omnipresent, always happening somewhere. Fresh blood, death, corpses, steel, weapons - all these were characteristics of the Demon Realm, where they constantly fought and expended countless troops, possibly just for a verbal sparring at a banquet, an accidental collision in a corridor, or simply to win the favor of some lady.

However, the demon world did not become weaker as a result, but instead became even stronger. Zhan En was very clear about this, no matter how large-scale the war was, the ones who died were always cannon fodder. These wars were actually no different from daily military exercises in the human world to the great demons. Only those elite who survived the cannon fodder wars would enter the eyes of the great demons, and only by fighting in these wars could they gain more powerful powers and higher status. The demon clans used this method to filter out their strong soldiers. Even if only one elite survived among 10,000 warriors, it was enough for them. As for the other dead - anyway, their souls would still be reborn and transformed into new demons in another place, and then there would be another "elimination match".

But these have nothing to do with Zhan En.

He withdrew his gaze from the blood-red sky and earth of the Demon Realm, and Jenn looked back at the empty space in front of him. The goblins here had almost been cleared out, with only sporadic screams and "squeaks" indicating that even if there were any fish that escaped the net, they wouldn't live for much longer. Perhaps the rough and careless Gray Dwarves would let them off, but the Aberrants wouldn't be so stupid - they were fond of reaping lives, and took great pleasure in it. If not for Jenn's orders, perhaps this group of Gray Dwarves would also have become their "harvest".

So next is to see how things go on Enya's side.

As he thought of this, Zhan En raised his head and gazed into the distance - soon, his eyes began to turn deep and dark.

A slender figure flashed by in the darkness.

Eris turned her head to look back, and several arrows flew towards her with a whistling sound. However, Eris simply turned sideways in a circle, causing the earth spirit's attacks to fall short. Although she was a mage, as a half-vampire who had inherited the bloodline and physique of vampires, Eris naturally couldn't be as physically weak and incompetent as ordinary spellcasters.

  Everything is going very smoothly.

After seeing Elise and the other two, the goblins immediately became excited as if they had seen a red clothed bull and rushed towards the three of them. They didn't care about Elise's beauty at all; after all, aesthetic views between different races are different. Perhaps in the eyes of human-like species, these three people were considered to be quite excellent types. However, in the goblins' eyes, they were more concerned with the clothes and shiny decorations on the girl's body - these things were much more attractive to the goblins than the girls themselves!

It's probably because Eris looked like the easiest to bully among the three that there were the most goblins following her. However, this didn't bother Eris much - it was just a few dozen goblins after all, and as long as she could use magic flames, one encounter would be enough to thoroughly kill them off.

  It's almost done, isn't it?

As she gazed ahead, Elise slowed her pace. If she wasn't mistaken, the ambush circle set up by the gray dwarves should be at the next intersection. All she had to do was lead these earth spirits into the ambush circle and leave the rest to them... No!!

Just as Elise was about to turn the corner, she suddenly stopped in her tracks. The girl's eyes widened slightly, filled with a hint of confusion and vigilance. As a half-vampire, she could clearly sense the bloody aura that permeated the air. But how was this possible? Had something gone wrong with those grey dwarves?

As she flashed through these thoughts in her mind, the earth spirit's footsteps came again from behind, and Eris thought for a moment before continuing forward.

After turning the corner, Elise arrived at a relatively open place, which was also where she had agreed with the Grey Dwarves to lay an ambush. However, soon Elise saw that things had undergone some changes.

More than a dozen goblin warriors who should have been lurking around were now lying on the ground in disarray, with blood flowing from their bodies and seeping into the earth. It seemed that they had gone through a fierce battle before, but unfortunately, they did not manage to defeat the enemy.

  But who exactly?

Looking at the corpse in front of her, Elise furrowed her brow. She could see the wounds on the dwarf's body inflicted by a sharp blade, and she could also feel a strange energy fluctuation lingering in the air. The opponent was very strong. It had only been about ten minutes since Elise parted ways with these dwarves, and judging from the battlefield before her eyes, it was the dwarves who first discovered the enemy entering their ambush circle, which led to the attack. Being killed despite having the upper hand meant that the opponent's strength was formidable... Could it be that Father had sent someone again?

  "Squeak, squeak, honk, honk!!"

The chaotic shouting broke Elise's thoughts, and when she turned her head around, those earth spirits had already followed her to the location. Logically speaking, if nothing unexpected happened, it should be the time for the gray dwarves' attack now.

  If nothing unexpected happens.

  "Alas………"

Eris let out a soft sigh, then raised her right hand, and the chaotic magical power began to churn within her body. With just one movement, one thought, it would turn into burning flames, thoroughly incinerating these unrefined monsters before her eyes, turning them to ashes. Now Eris's concern was no longer whether or not she should annihilate this group of monsters, but rather how she would explain herself to Jarn when she returned. She didn't know if Enyo and Vilna had also encountered the same problem in their directions; if so, that would be fine. But if it was just her own bad luck, then one could imagine how the fearsome and ruthless underground castle lord would treat her upon her return.

Elisa couldn't help but shudder at the thought. Sometimes she even thought of just letting the other person have their way with her, so that at least she would know what to expect by just lying in bed and letting them do as they pleased. But now... Elisa's hands rubbed against her thighs uneasily, the warmth of her skin making her feel uncomfortable, but at the same time, a strange, tingling current ran from the base of her thighs all over her body, causing Elisa to shudder involuntarily.

  "Squeak!!"

The goblins took big strides forward, seeing Elise give up on escaping, they too let out excited shrieks and charged towards the girl with their crude weapons. Meanwhile, Elise quietly watched them, calculating time and distance. With just one strike, she was confident, just one strike...

  Whoosh!!

At this moment, suddenly, a burst of dazzling white light enveloped Elise and the goblins. This sudden change made Elise jump in surprise, and then she hastily retreated two steps unconsciously. Soon, several figures emerged from the white light, shouting slogans, raising their long swords, and charging towards the goblins.

  Who are they?
