TBE Chapter 34

  Ezekiel communicated to Yuki Onna, his Snowy Owl familiar to look after Robert and Luke while they were pying nearby and to make sure to scout out the surrounding area for any possible danger.

  After petting Yuki Onna for a few minutes, the Snowy Owl flew above the trees until they couldn’t see it then the two boys ran and began pying.

  Ezekiel felt his worries about his brothers lessen to a certain degree due to the familiar following them. He then thought of something very important that he missed. Were there any schools in the vilge? He decided to ask his teacher the next day since if there were any, he would enroll Robert and Luke. That would help them a lot since not only they would be able to learn, but they would also be able to py with kids their age.

  He knew of their status in the vilge though and there was a chance that his brothers might encounter some form of bullying but he shouldn’t assume something bad immediately. Ezekiel would let his brothers try schooling and if they experienced anything bad, he could always bring them home but allowing them to py with others would at least prevent them from becoming psychos.

  It was still early, around four in the afternoon. Ezekiel thought of spending the time to start cooking but decided to do so once all the food in his inventory was gone. After they were all gone, he would then create a detailed meal pn and write it down in a notebook. Not only it would allow him to monitor and budget his coin usage, but it would also allow him to make sure that every one of them would receive good nutrition.

  Ezekiel was not worried about creating a meal pn since he had the help of the collective knowledge of Earth’s nutritionists through the Earth’s internet that for some reason his system was allowing him to access.

  An idea also came to him of using his system shopping site to make sure that his brothers were treated right by their cssmates and teachers like providing their cssmates something good to eat like candies and cookies and making sure that their teachers would receive gifts aside from the payment he would pay to enroll his brothers.

  After that pnning, Ezekiel decided to purchase his own bag so he would have a cover that he could use if he wanted to take out small things from his 4th tab space. He spent 20 copper coins and chose a leather shoulder bag that looked stylish. He also purchased a few notebooks and pens. He pnned to only bring out the bag from his inventory while he was in the vilge.

  He took one of the notebooks and a pen to begin writing down the things that he pnned to purchase from his system shopping site that he would sell to the vilgers. He would list them in his notebook together with the purchase price. Then he would create a column that would list his expected selling price and the actual price the product was sold.

  For now, the only viable options that he could think of were arts and crafts and small furniture made of wood since he could give the excuse that he made them himself using the resources from the forest.

  Ezekiel then thought of an interesting idea. He would learn how to do the arts and crafts himself since he did have the internet that he could use for a guide then he would use his wizardry to make everything more interesting like using the Mage Hand cantrip.

  He would purchase the little wooden crafts from his system shopping site since those were the ones he would actually sell but he would then copy them by actually making them through the use of the materials found in the forest and the guide that he could watch from the internet.

  He then went to the system shopping site and searched for wooden jewelry boxes since Ezekiel thought that that project was simple enough. The list of products that appeared was massive ranging from the simplest to the very complex. He chose a simple box that was connected using wooden glue and didn’t have a hinge. The cover just needed to be lifted but it did fit snuggly on the rest of the box. The design was really simple but pretty and it looked easy enough to copy. Since it wasn’t very rge, It would only cost him 2 copper coins so he purchased it.

  Ezekiel retrieved the simple box with a nice floral carving design on top. He looked at the box and it seemed like it was held by nothing but glue. He went and opened the most famous video streaming website on Earth and watched a video of a guide to make a simple wooden box.

  The process of creating the wooden box was simple enough to follow but the creator was using machinery and tools like cmps and stuff. He could purchase most of the tools that he could use like hand saws, chisels, hammers, wood glue, sandpapers, and more but he wouldn’t be able to use the machinery. He didn’t want to overly commit himself since the process of learning how to craft wooden things was just going to be a hobby since most of the products that he would sell would come from the system shopping store, not from the ones he would make.

  Ezekiel wanted to practice creating the wooden box so he spent a total of 3 silver coins to purchase all the things that he would need like a chisel, a hammer, a saw, a rge sharp knife for woodworking, a smaller knife for carving, sandpapers, a bottle of wood glue, wood markers, tape measure, and cmps and a box that he could put the tools into. He would purchase the other tools ter if he needed them.

  What excited him the most was the prospect of using Mage Hand to craft the items. He knew that it would be difficult at first since he had read in the spell description that the spell Mage Hand could only craft things that his hands already knew how to craft.

  Instead of learning manually with his hands first, he decided to skip that part and learn crafting directly using the Mage Hand spell.

  After the box with the tools was ready, he went and collected some rge firewood from the firewood stack near their old shack. When Ezekiel felt that he had enough wood he went back to their Galder’s Tower houses. He decided to use the Dining Room table as a wood crafts table for now and was thankful that Galder’s Tower houses were bright enough.

  He briefly checked the location of his brother on the map in his system browser and saw that they were nearby. Ezekiel wasn’t worried since Yuki Onna was looking after them and they were also protected by the Mage Armor spell.

  Ezekiel cast the Mage Hand spell and began the process of cutting a rge enough firewood to the desired size using the spell. Just cutting the wood with the knife while using the spell was extremely difficult but it did feel like he was just using his hands. It was just that he was so unfamiliar with the process that he made a mess of several pieces of wood before he finally cut slightly serviceable wooden boards. He measured the boards with a tape measure and then cut them using the hand saw.

  He followed the video tutorial to the letter so he made the four sides, the bottom the cover. His brother might have heard the noise since they entered the house with a curious look on their faces.

  “What are you doing?” Robert asked.

  “I’m practicing making a wooden box. I pn to sell wooden arts and crafts and small furniture so we will have more coins,” Ezekiel answered his brother.

  Robert looked at the newly cut wooden board and the wooden jewelry box that he purchased from the system shopping site.

  “Your wooden boards are rough and ugly,” Robert pointed at the newly cut boards.

  Ezekiel ughed and told his brother that he was only practicing and was not really pnning to sell the things that he would make but instead would sell those things that were conjured by his magic. Learning how to craft things would just be an excuse so he could tell everyone who asked that he was a woodworker and that he made the things that they were selling.

  He then continued with making the wooden box by following the video. Since he was using the Mage Hand spell, it looked like the wooden materials were just floating and moving by themselves while Ezekiel was handling them and this process entertained Robert and Luke.

  After he completed the sanding process, Luke suddenly said that he was hungry so Ezekiel paused his project and served dinner for everyone. After dinner, they went to the bedroom and cleaned his brothers and their clothes using his Prestidigitation spell, after that he tucked them in the bed, and after the boys checked their backpacks one st time, they hugged their teddy bear and promptly went to sleep without waiting for Ezekiel to tell them a bedtime story.
