TBE Chapter 25
Ezekiel cast Mage Armor on all of them for defense then he cast Tenser’s Floating Disk. Robert and Luke climbed on top of the disk immediately. He then prepared the spells that he would use in the forest. He put in the Magic Missile spell on the 2nd level slot which would increase its power and would add another magical glowing dart to the three that it would release.
In the 1st level spell slots, Ezekiel put in the Sleep Spell and Healing Elixir, and in the 4 cantrip slots, he put in 3 Magic Missile and the Prestidigitation spells.
They then started their journey deep inside the forest but this time Ezekiel chose another route from the one they took yesterday. He planned to travel for six hours in the morning and then travel back home in the afternoon. That would allow them to return to their shack before dark.
Near the village, the only animals they could see were harmless ones like squirrels and deer but Ezekiel knew that since according to Robert, during their stay in their small house, they hadn’t encountered any dangerous animals and the only one who reached them that was dangerous was the bear who was the mate of the one Ezekiel killed, he would need to travel awhile before encountering anything dangerous just like what they had been doing so far.
Ezekiel kept on walking while his brothers floated behind him on top of the Tenser’s Floating Disk. The first aggressive animals they encountered were the expected ones which were a couple of boars. He immediately killed the two boars and stored their bodies in his 4th tab space. Sadly the two boars only gave him 1 percent of experience points each.
They continued with their journey deep inside the forest but Luke complained that he was hungry so they took a break to eat one of the dishes that Ezekiel had cooked. He cooked so many dishes that food wouldn’t be a problem for them for a while and the variety was enough that his two brothers didn’t complain. After drinking a refreshing cold water, Ezekiel started walking again.
After about an hour of travel, the three siblings encountered something very dangerous. A pack of wolves. Ezekiel was hoping that the Mage Armor spell was enough to defend themselves in case any of the wolves reached them.
The wolves were circling them so he actually didn’t know how many there were. Robert and Luke were huddling on top of the Tenser’s Floating Disk but looking at the two boys, Ezekiel could see that they were more excited than scared and that goes to show that they had confidence in him.
Suddenly, Ezekiel saw two wolves running towards them. He couldn’t even discern who was the wolves’ target, him or his two brothers but of course, it didn’t matter. He cast a single Magic Missile to check the effect of just one cast of the spell but he chose the one that was slotted on the 2nd level slot so four glowing darts appeared. He also needed to make sure that he would have enough spells to deal with the other wolves that were hidden amongst the trees.
The single Magic Missile produced 4 glowing darts and each wolf was hit in the head unerringly. Two darts from the Magic Missile spell were powerful enough to cause each of the wolves’ heads to explode so that was two down.
Suddenly he saw another two wolves attacking from the side so he cast two Magic Missiles from the cantrip slots. Each Magic Missile produces three glowing darts and those three darts hit each of the wolf’s heads without any issues causing their heads to explode.
That was 2 more wolves down. Ezekiel didn’t know how many wolves were left but he made sure that he was aware of his surroundings. He had two spells left that he could use which were 1 Magic Missile slotted on the cantrip slot and 1 Sleep spell slotted in the 1st level slot.
The cooldown for the Magic Missile in the 2nd level slot was 3 minutes so it wouldn’t be long till it’s available and the cooldown for the ones slotted in the cantrip slot was only a minute so that would be available soon as well.

Soon, three wolves made their move and Ezekiel saw them running toward him and his brothers. He cast the Sleep Spell and the three wolves were hit and fell asleep. The effect of the Sleep spell was only a minute but it was enough for the cooldown of his Magic Missile to be over and when it was over, he immediately cast three Magic Missiles from the cantrip slots to hit the three sleeping wolves and that caused their heads to explode.
Ezekiel remained vigilant since he didn’t know if there were any wolves left but he wasn’t too worried since the Magic Missile that was in the 2nd slot was now available.
After waiting for several minutes, his confidence grew since all of his spells were now available but no wolves attacked. To provoke any that was hidden, he stored the corpses of the nearest wolves but even after that, there was no more movement. Ezekiel then stored all the wolves’ corpses and there was still no movement.
Ezekiel decided to leave the area but he remained vigilant. After a few minutes of traveling, Ezekiel and his brothers decided to rest beneath a particularly huge tree.
He gave a glass of milk spelled to taste like strawberry milkshakes to his brothers while he drank one as well. Robert and Luke enjoyed drinking the flavorful drink. While they were resting, Ezekiel checked the experience points that he had earned for killing seven wolves.
Each of the wolves gave him 4 percent so the seven of them gave him a total of 28 experience points. His current experience points were 79 and that meant that just a few more killings would allow him to level up to level 3.
Ezekiel had to admit that the last battle was especially dangerous and he didn’t know if the Mage Armor was enough defense for him and his brothers but he was glad that he didn’t need to find out since he was able to kill the seven wolves without any issue.
After their rest, Ezekeil refreshed the Mage Armor spell, cast the Tenser’s Floating Disk again, and ensured that all of his spells were ready before starting their journey again.
After an hour, the three siblings encountered a huge bear. Ezekiel treated it as good luck but knew that ordinary people would think it was bad luck to encounter dangerous animals one after another.
The bear started running towards them and Ezekiel was terrified at how fast the bear was so he immediately cast two Magic Missile spells, the one slotted on the 2nd level slot and one that was in the cantrip slot. His hands released 7 glowing darts and they hit the bear’s head without any problem. Ezekiel thanked his system again in his mind for giving his spells a homing capability since if he were honest, if his spells relied on his accuracy, he would have been dead by now.
The 7 glowing darts caused the bear’s head to explode and the huge animal loudly fell. Ezekiel’s cheerleaders shouted loudly when the bear fell. He immediately checked his experience bar and it climbed up to 89 percent. That meant that the bear gave him a whopping 10 percent experience points. It indicated that the bear was a truly dangerous animal but thankfully, his spells were very powerful.
Looking at the bear’s corpse, Ezekiel decided not to store it since it was too huge and would fill up his 4th tab. After that engagement, the three siblings walked forward. Noon arrived and they camped beneath a tree again to eat lunch. The food they were eating was one of the dishes that he cooked and they ate it together with the soda that he purchased before.
Ezekiel decided that he wouldn’t purchase soda again and would just use water. He would just use his Prestidigitation spell to add soda flavoring to their water to make sure that he and his siblings would remain healthy. They were just drinking the soda since he didn’t want to waste it.
After lunch, Ezekiel decided to travel home but used a different route so they would encounter more animals.
They reached the river again but this time they could stay near it until they reached the place where they went and took a bath before.
Suddenly, Luke shouted, “Big cats! Big cats!” and when they looked at where the kid was pointing, Ezekiel saw a couple of cougars.
The animals in the forest were the same, boars, cougars, bears, wolves, snakes, and alligators. Even though they were dangerous animals, they were just regular animals. Ezekiel hadn’t seen anything magical so far. He still wasn’t sure if he was relieved or disappointed.
Two casts of Magic Missile that were slotted in the cantrip slots killed the cougars immediately. His spells were really powerful but Ezekiel wondered if it was because the enemies that he had been killing were just regular animals.
If there were magical enemies like a goblin or a kobold, would his Magic Missile be powerful enough to defeat those kinds of enemies? He didn’t know.
After the cougar died, Ezekiel stored them in his 4th tab space and he checked his experience points. His total experience was 95 percent. 5 percent more and he would reach level 3 and that made him truly excited.
