The Great Game

Hah... I did not intend for this to happen the way it is.

But it can't be helped, I had intended to kill both of them the moment we were exhausted. Though, lucky for me, being brought to the brink of death over fifty times and healed by the vitality of the World itself.

I am more than happy to end this here.

For my first move, I smmed Ouroboros Omniscia into Kalpas. But they caught it with their bare hands, still, they were pushed back even a little.

There were no words to be spoken. We all knew this day would come, I'm just advancing the schedule.

Pulling the coffin back, I snapped my finger— opening the Gate of Akasha. Golden coins of the Treasury began to fall from the sky, just in time to obstruct the flying beasts and their damned radiation bsts.

"I offer to Humanity.", I chanted, making the Exchange.

I put the Price of eighty thousand gold coins on the Scale of Akasha. Really, I don't really understand how I can make a deal with myself as the medium. I need Qaeidat Dhahabia to sit me through all the kinks.

"Let the Exchange begin.", but I do it anyway.

  Now... if I remember correctly.

  "Enhance."

The Scale tipped slightly, yet the full price was not paid. Already, I can feel my body becoming lighter than it already was.

Summoning Quirinus to my side, I thrust my nce at Kalpas, generating electricity in the process. They dodged the nce, even the spikes, by a hair's breadth.

I can't use Argent Overdrive here, my Inner World would open up and let them escape. Am I at a disadvantage? No.

I have everything ready for this case.

Blue fme enveloped my body, burning bright with the Fire of Malice.

"Escation Level Maximum: Requiem of the Trailbzing Fme.", then, the fme was gone. Repced by an opressing heat.

In an instant, many of the beasts were evaporated by the heat alone. Even Kalpas were affected.

"World Authority: Krita.", they started to fight back. The wheel behind them began to spin, repcing the fire with a golden aura.

Ah... I see, extreme regeneration. Easy enough to understand—

Kalpas punched me in the chest. And I felt every fiber of my body screaming. Still, it wasn't as bad with the Fragment of the Universe.

Not getting any rest, I spun and dodged a giant snake coming my way. The same thing happened to Kalpas, but they countered with martial arts.

If I have a nickel for everytime a burning humanoid uses martial arts, I would have two nickels. It's not a lot but strange how that happened twice.

Kalpas got into a stance, "World Authority: Treta."

From their skin, chains made of cy burst forth— ensnaring many surviving beasts. Some came for me too—

But I was already a kilometer away. But the heat still cover the entire Inner World. I am someone who can destroy the world simply by walking around, after all.

I touched a crumbling building, making it solid for me to climb on.

Really, the effect of Ramses' Inner World is showing. Being a Pharaoh, he is someone who automatically carries divine blood. After all, all Pharaohs are gods once they ascend to the throne. But Ramses the Great is quite different.

He is the only human in history to manifest his own Inner World in his lifetime.

There are quite a number of humans who came close to reaching the level of the Akasha, huh.

Scathách the God Syer, Lu Bu the Flying General, Cyrus the Great, Suleiman the Magnificient, so on and so forth. With the most recent being Okita Mitsuki, my dear friend. Oh, Seria is also included.

Well. Ramses' Inner World is simir to mine, but instead of eating away one's existence, it transforms them into something he viewed as "belonging to him". And by extension, mine.

And it's way stronger than mine, my World of Chalk drains on a capacity basis. But Ramesseum Orbis Aureus works on a percentage base.

What would the Records of Beast and Records of Nature become? I'm certain that they won't be affected to the point of stripping away their power. But they would be weakened.

I summoned both Fallen Starlight and Walpurgis Festival.

"Make Walpurgis Festival work in my Inner World."

The Price was instantly paid fully. Without the World acting as the caster, Walpurgis Festival is basically just a fancy cane.

  "Deconstruct."

This is the form of Alchemy I'm more familiar with. Brute forcing the change itself, overpowering reality for a brief moment for it to act my way. So, the form of my rifle and cane shattered, their pieces flying around me in the air.

  "Reforge."

And they merged back together into a purplish white sniper rifle.

Now... what was my specialty again?

Avalon gets stronger with every death. Even now, I can see their power rising as more of them die fighting Kalpas. A Gu poison in a sense.

Kalpas is practically invincible, being the Acting Ego of the World they can draw out the Authorities of Earth, plus being powerful in their own right. The unbreakable spear and shield that protects the World.

Me? I have the entire arsenal of humanity at my fingertips. In other words, overwhelming firepower.

Pointing the sniper rifle at the sky, a magic circle formed at the barrel of the gun. Then, millions of magic circles formed around me.

"By the Rite of Steel and Gunpowder..."

  I start the familiar phrase.

  "I shall grant you Finality."

A symphony of destruction ensued. An array of rainbows erupted, burying Avalon and Kalpas in such elemental attacks enhanced with Judgement.

Thinking about it, I only have one Attribute that can be used offensively, Judgement. Exchange is just buffing and expanding my utility. Salvation is literally just plot armor, I survived being hit by the Fragment of the Universe thanks to it.

What about Regression? I don't know. Anyway, while it is more fun to go into close combat with them. I am here to represent humanity— I am here to win.

I snapped my finger, opening the Book of Akasha. Reverie Sludge began to pour out en masse, filling the top of this building and overflowing.

This was something I wanted to use against the Fragment. Rias Trad was just the backup pn in case the Juries wanted to help.

If I want to kill a monster, then I just need to bring out another monster.

The Book of Akasha is interesting, as it records not only things from the past but also the future. Because I am the Anchor of Time, Tiamat said so, and even the Warden of Time itself said it.

From the darkness, a titan in silver emerged. In the future, people, like always, wanted to do something crazy. And so, in ten years of researching, developing, and building, they created...

Ashurata, the Dragon of Destruction. No, it's not a joke. People literally named the project Dragon of Destruction, the name Ashurata was given only after the creator transferred his mind into the mechanical beast and destroyed the Luxembourg Empire. This is some serious foreshadowing.

There are mad geniuses in every era, and people just let them do as they please. Oh, the guy who tried to create catgirls succeeded around the time I entered Ukraine, with Argent Alexandria exposing his everyday life so marketing is not a problem.

I jumped on the head of the mechanical Dragon, it flew up into the sky. There were a few wyverns left from the initial bombardment, but standing in front of this madness of a creation, they were nothing but flies.

Ashurata opened its mouth, charging up the artificial Dragon's Breath. Yes... This is the only way I can witness Dragon's Breath!!

Then, my hope was dashed away in a second. A beam of light destroyed the Dragon's head in an instant. It's still flying because who would be dumb enough to put the control system in the head?

But still... WHY THE FUCK CAN'T I WITNESS DRAGON'S BREATH?! Is this some kind of curse?! It happened too many times to brush it off now!!

  "Artillery."

The chest of Ashurata opened up, revealing roads of R-Type Missiles. Would having anti-matter missiles stored in its chest be dangerous? Not really, anti-matter, a rge amount of it, in fact, can only be created in very specific situations. Each missile is like its own boratory, carefully timed to create anti-matter. That's why each missile costs about 2 to 3 million dolrs to create.

Anyway, before the next attack came. I unleashed the R-Type missiles, deleting everything in my field of vision.

  !!!

I quickly summon Agápi kai Polémos, deflecting a hummingbird flying at me at the speed of sound.

  Very clever...

Reverie Sludge and Justice Mist began to mix together, forming an inky dark blue substance— crawling into Ashurata. One by one, I began to take apart the mechanical Dragon, reshaping it as I sank into the body.

Out of all combinations, Reverie and Justice offer huge utility. Survive and Delusion is best for offense and defense, but it doesn't offer much fortitude for a battle of attrition...

"Because time is your best ally?"

  "Yes—"

  What the fuck?!

I turned around and saw a bck and white woman in the same space as me. Her hair is an ash white, as if it would scatter with a single touch, in a wolf cut. Her eyes are pitch bck, sharp, and ominous. Her structure, her face, and her boobs are smaller than mine—

  WHY ARE YOU HERE?!

"Surprised seeing me~?", she chuckled slightly, "Don't worry, I won't do anything, I just got bored watching~"

"Sincir Apocrypha, why are you here and why do you look different?!", I narrowed my eyes.

"Basically, I became a Universal Paradox! I'm basically immortal, I am everywhere but nowhere at the same time, I am here but also three gaxies away. Isn't that a brain twister?", she answered nonchantly, "It took me fifty years to become one, it's pretty hard."

"How did you get into here anyway?", I sighed, frowning at her.

"It took me five minutes to break into here. So please, don't kill me. It's a hassle to go back in.", she shrugged, leading against an inky web.

"Hah...", I massaged the bridge of my nose, might as well get something from this, "Tell me, how did you defeat Shar and Pan?"

"Shar, or Kalpas, is easy. Just hit them with metallic weapons - no magic, no special enhancement. Just pure steel.", she grinned, "For Pan... well, nuclear saturation wasn't enough. Believe me, you don't want to chill during the apocalypse you caused and an ant decided to bench press a truck and hit you at Mach speed."

So War Symphony is the only way.

For now, I'll deal with Kalpas first. The mecha finished forming, a silver and blue knight.

My first action was to punch down— meeting Kalpas' fist. They looked injured, from bck marks to tears on their skin. Yet was able to meet with a Justice-and-Reverie-enhanced mech, yeah, this is the Child of Earth alright.

  "World Authority: Agnika."

From their fist came raging fme, melting the mech's fist. But that won't work. The ink surged and repaired the damaged parts, as well as eating away at the fme for analysis.

I performed a kick, boosted by thrusters. Just as Kalpas was about to block, the ink formed iron spikes, smming into the body of the Protector. They were pierced, and wounded by the power of metal.

  Then came Avalon— shit.

I readied myself, blocking a cannonball-like capybara that came straight through the mech. But it could not escape being consumed by the ink, dying in the process.

"Sincir, can I trust you to pilot it?"

"Nope~", she popped out of the closing mech with a smile, "This isn't my fight, no contribution will come from me~"

  Fine...

I readied War Symphony, throwing it and Agápi kai Polémos up.

  "Deconstruct."

The weapons shattered, crackling with electricity holding the pieces in the air. Malice Fme burst in my hand, so I raised it to the fragments.

  "Reforge."

Everything reformed into a bck spear with crimson cracks glowing.

I sshed a crow, making the animals shriek in pain. Kalpas destroyed a beast and charged at me— but they did not aim at me.

The Records of Nature punched the ground, sending a sundering shockwave—

  "Kuh—!!!", I coughed up blood.

Sincir appeared beside me, "This is your Inner World, a projection of your Soul. Thus, you are at your strongest, and most vulnerable, in here."

"Shut the fuck up.", I clicked my tongue, wiping the blood off my mouth.

"Ahahaha~ don't worry, I just can't stand it if myself do something so stupid!!", she spread her arms dramatically, "Well, its nothing serious, you might die if you don't dispel it though."

The remaining beasts are charging their firepower, aiming at the World of Chalk.

  "Argent Overdrive."

  Ah... this feels much better.

Before a second even passed, I was already in front of Kalpas, stabbing the spear straight into their chest, delivering a ssh that cut their entire body.

But... they had already escaped. What I ended was just a cy puppet.

Then I made my next move— let's see, there are about fifty million beasts left on the battlefield, not counting the ones all over the world. Most of them had developed resistance to Malice, but are still affected so I won't turn it off.

  Ah... Kalpas went away.

"Sincir, could you deliver something to Kalpas?", I gnced at the woman made of darkness behind me, still smiling.

"Yeah~ something about destroying the world? I know because I've done it before.", she giggled.

  I nodded.

"Well, see you ter, Charlotte, no matter how long it may be, O' the me who is beloved by Time.", she snapped her finger, engulfed in darkness— and she was gone.

Her st words ticked me off...

"It looks like there is just me and you, Avalon.", I brandished my spear and summoned my nce, focusing my attention on the beasts.

"So what will you do, Avalon? Will you run away? Or will you fight me to the death?", I smiled.

"Running.""Logical.""You.""Advantage.""Logical.""Logical.""But.""No.""No.""Kill.""Hunt.""Struggle.""That is""The Way of Life.""Let us kill each other."

I nodded, "Let us kill each other."
