At the end, Vd was able to finally figure out everything that happened, and that ultimately, it was Gofumina’s greed that ended up triggering the summoning of a part of the {Maiden of the Emerald Sea}. After this, the goblin girl kept insisting on going back to her meraries and that she was fine alone, but Vd insisted on ing along.
Ultimately, he and the rest of his group followed her to see these meraries; he was ied in recruiting them to his side if possible, and once he reached the merary base and found all these towers and ons being prepared…
Well, it didn’t take long for him to grow suspicious. Why were they building all of this so far away from everywhere else? And in fact, rather close to his city?
“Uuuggh… What am I going to do now?!” Gofumina was dying inside. “I should’ve logged out! Aagh! But we’re already here! Fuck!”
As the goblins in the camp looked armed and gred at Vd’s party with eyes wide open, most of them reizing the vampires as incredibly threatening and powerful beings to not be messed with, Gofumina gnced back at them.
“Um, I’ll go look for my boss! And I’ll tell him about you guys… Err, stay there, please.”
“Fiell him I want to talk with him personally.”
Vd’s rexed personality ged instantly, being incredibly serious. Gofumina already guessed he probably began to guess everything that was actually happening here.
“S-Sure…”
She closed her eyes as she walked ihe camp; the goblins quickly swarmed her with questions, barely letting her breathe!
“Gofumina, what the hell happened in the forest?!”
“Why did y vampires here?!”
“W-Where are the uys?”
“Gofumina!”
“Uuggh! A lot of shit happened, okay?! And… they’re dead. A cult we had no freaking idea about appeared and killed them…”
“EH?!”
The goblins gasped in disbelief; her group was posed of several goblins that were friends with many. They might be weak, but they were all very close and had strong family-like bonds.
Goblins had strong familial bonds and pack mentalities; they relied on one another and khat together they were strong and alone weak.
Therefore, when one of their friends died, they mourhem, and now, four of them had perished, a great loss, even for meraries.
“T-This ’t be…”
“No…”
“My friend…”
“G-Gofumina! How could you let them die?!”
“You are the stro! How did this happen?!”
“I-I’ll expihing to the boss first, so just let me get through!” Gofumina pushed them away as she walked forward.
Some tried to hit her, but her body was tough, and her reflexes great; she caught punches easily and kicked the annoying goblins away.
“Ouch…”
“Damn it, she’s as tough as ever…”
“Ugh…”
She was sidered the stro of the merary group, as a Pyer of high Tier, and possessing a powerful Css and Skills, she was among the stro goblins.
“Boss.”
She walked ihe camp where her boss was direg things and talking with oblins; the hobgobli her with surprise.
“Gofumina! What happened with your face? Are you alright? Ah, did you mao fend off the uninvited guests? What with the otion outside?”
“A lot happened, and well…”
She expihings to the boss, his face distorted into anger and frustration as he heard his “children” died, although they weren’t his biological sons and daughters; every goblin of his merary group was like his kid.
“W-Wha…! This… and yht them here?!”
“I couldn’t do anything else, boss! Please don’t get mad at me; I was pletely powerless in this situation! I-I…”
Gofumina started g, even though as a pyer she khis was all a fabricated fi, a game; she couldn’t help but feel sad for those that were lost. The rea of her boss already told her they were also very precious to everyone.
“Tch…”
Her boss was about to hit her head, but he ended up not doing anything to her, sighing… He caressed her head instead, looking at her with an uanding smile.
He might be an ugly hobgoblin, but he had a really fatherly aura around him, something that made Gofumina feel weled.
Especially because she grew up without a family to belong to…
“Listen well, Gofumina… We must prioritize our own survival. Our previous tractor… Although our deal is strong and there’s a pride we must withhold, if the vampire offers more money…”
“A-Are you implying we ge sides?! But…!”
“What else we do now?! It’s either that or we die! Those Vampires are too powerful! You have to uand!”
“…I know.”
“And they also saved your life and helped you when you were possessed by that monster. We owe them a favor.”
“…I know.”
“Therefore, you will bring them here, and we will discuss things. Aice with them; if things go well, we could end up in an eveer situation than before.”
“Okay, boss… I got it.”
Gofumina nodded, although she sighed deep inside; she khis was the only way.
She walked outside of the tent and rushed towards Vd and pany, bringing them along.
As they walked there, the goblins gred at them with weird expressions on their faces; they weren’t quite pleased about these visits.
And onside, Vd met the Boss.
“o meet you, sir Vampire- Ah! Y-You’re really the Vampire Prince of Elderbridge?!”
“Yes, I am. And I already tell your entire camp here was made to go against me, right?”
“T-That’s…”
“Did you e from the Silver Moon Family?”
“You…!”
“It’s easy to guess; they’re my neighbors. They attacked my city, and I killed their ruler and their heir…”
“We meraries work for money; we don’t truly have any loyalty to our tractors… As long as someone else offers more money, we will not hesitate to betray our previous tractor.”
“I see… Then we will strike a deal, double what he’s you, plus you live in my city; you will get free housing, ons, armor, and three meals a day, and you will be reized as citizens.”
“R-Really?!”
The goblins had ruck a better deal in their damned lives!
