Chapter 133: New Soldiers

  -----

The Hobgoblin Chief was shocked; Vd easily guessed where his entire merary team came from, and he even accurately guessed they served the Silver Moon Duchy’s current ruler, which should be reted to the previous Duchess, one of the Emperor’s wives that came with her son to kill Vd and his mother.

They brought a whole army of barbarian orcs with them, powered by evil dark magid this dark magided up being ected to a powerful Outer Entity known as the Desecrated Shadow, who remained present within Elderbridge through his cult or whatever, his Temprs or something, which were also ected to most of the criminals.

It all ended, increasing in scope after that, and then, until now. Vd couldn’t bme himself for slightly fetting about the Silver Mooory; they had been rather silent siheir defeat… But if there was a ruler, they were either some sort of lover of their Duchess or someoed to her by blood.

Another son was one of Vd’s thoughts, although it would be weird that he didn’t e with his mother to fight for her… So it could have been a distaive, or maybe someohat wasn’t ied in battling but was close enough.

  Perhaps a brother or sister…

As the Hobgoblin heard Vd’s previous words, he sighed, feeling his intimidating aura, and the even more intimidating aura of Ia by Vd’s side, it was as clear as water they weren’t going to take his words nicely if he tried to tell them to fuck off or something…

He had to be nice, very nice… And reasonable, if possible.

“We meraries work for money; we don’t truly have any loyalty to our tractors… As long as someone else offers more money, we will not hesitate to betray our previous tractor.”

And so, he decided to instantly jump the ship and imply that Vd could simply buy his trust and loyalty as easily as possible to guarantee a ce for him and his goblin family to survive.

He was still mad at Gofumina, but seeing the mohat came with her, he could already tell they probably forced her t them here.

He was even imagining that they tortured her, feeling bad for the young goblin girl.

“I see… Then we will strike a deal, double what he’s you, plus you live in my city; you will get free housing, ons, armor, and three meals a day, and you will be reized as citizens.”

Vd spoke nontly, an incredible deal that made the Hobgoblin gasp in disbelief; the oblins outside of his camp were all spying on the versation, shocked too.

Citizenship, three meals a day, ons, armor, free housing, and even double the pay?!

It simply felt like a total fantasy, a dream!

Even Gofumina gasped, her jaw almost dropping to the ground.

  “R-Really?!”

Gofumina and the chief ended up screaming and asking the same question at the same time.

The goblins had ruck a better deal in their damned lives!

As wandering meraries, they had never had a pce to actually call home before.

Because they were a band of goblins, they were also discriminated against by the bad reputation goblins had in general.

They were paid very little, ae their great talent, they were never really reized.

The chief and the rest of the goblins were just another merary group tracted for cheap to do suicidal work.

They had no other way of living, unfortunately...

However, sinina joihem, who was both strong and had strong leadership abilities, their work had ged.

She yer with strong pride, and she demanded better payment and also fought better and taught everyone how to fight eveer too!

Slowly, she was helping the chief improve their family, and she grew attached to all of them more than she imagined.

Gofumina’s presence improved their lives a lot, but o this extent, though!

“Yes, really,” Vd nodded. “Now, will you accept? I don’t have much time, you see, and I would prefer to go bae right now.”

  “Y-Yes! t…!” The chief nodded.

“We do! Will you pay us right now?!” Gofumina asked for upfront payment.

“I could, but you will have to e with me to my home first,” expined Vd. “I will introduce you to my mother, who usually hahese affairs. Although I suppose I could do it myself… Ah, I really o log out.”

“Oh, I see…” Gofumina guessed Vd was either exhausted or wao go to the bathroom, both pletely normal and acceptable reasons.

“Yeah, I’m exhausted too! I want to log out already..." Chris yawned. “Paul, you don’t mind if I log out now?”

“Eh? Yoing…?” Paul wondered. “Ah… well, I guess it’s up to you.”

“Yeah, see you tomorrow then!” Chris hugged him and kissed his cheek before quickly logging out.

He quickly noticed the pin stares of the chief and Gofumina, gring at him with awkward eyes.

“Ahem! That was Chris… Well, Alitheus, he is my… friend.” Vd muttered.

“Friend, yeah, right…” Gofumina squinted her eyes.

  BONK!

“Ouch! Hey old man, don’t hit me!”

The chief hit Gofumina’s head with a niuckle hit.

“Don’t talk like that in front of the young lofumina! Act with respect!”

“Hah?! He’s still a Pyer, he’s just another dude IRL so why would I…”

“What are you even talking about? I don’t get you! Just be o the young lord!”

  “Ugh, fineeeee!”

“Hah, I suppose the unruly rat has been already tamed?” Ia giggled, gring at Gofumina with a mog grin.

“The’s go,” Vd said. “We’ve discovered there’s a dangerous Cult, so your entire Merary group is moving with us. Leave the camp as it is; only bring whatever you carry with your hands.”

“V-Very well! Hey boys! We movin’! New tractor! We’re getting citizenships and houses at Elderbridge!”

The Hobgoblin walked out, and the goblins heard his words; the bad news about their friends dying was quickly improved by sucredible news.

  “OOOOOHHHHH!”

As the band of intrepid goblins celebrated, Vd nodded with a faint smile.

“This could be a great addition to my Territoblins are good for scouting missions, gathering information, and assassinations, and also sneaky work…” He nodded internally. “And—ugh, I really o go pee right now.”
