Chapter 23: Face to Face with a Traitor

  {Eve}

When I finally opened my eyes I was in an unfamiliar room. The walls in the room were bare and painted white. There was a small dresser off to the side of the bed. I sat up and tried to move when I noticed a long silver chain connected to a silver handcuff on my wrist.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm getting really tired of being chained to bed in order to keep my powers in check."

I heard George groaning as he was starting to wake up and that's when I noticed it. We weren't dressed in the clothing that we were in when we got kidnapped. We were dressed in our Agent uniforms.

  I blinked. "Am I dreaming?"

"Nope you're not," A voice said.

I looked over to see a woman about my age sitting on a chair with her legs crossed. She had black hair and brown eyes and she wore an outfit similar to the man who kidnapped us and she had a tattoo on her left arm of a snake that was a Cobra.

"Oh that's right I should probably introduce myself, my name is Amy," the woman said. "And currently I'm babysitting you until your Dad comes to pick you guys up."

"My… Dad?" I questioned. "You mean Mr. Harriman?"

Amy shook her head. "Nope. Not your In-law. I'm talking about your Dad."

"What is she talking about?" George asked. "And where the hell are we?"

"Well now at least both of you are awake. To answer your question Agent 72 we're at the lair of the Corba's. Home to the Cobra faction. We're one of the factions that are going to help take the Organization down!" Amy answered.

I laughed. "Wow, I wish I could be just as delusional as you are! But best of luck with that. Is that why you guys kidnapped us?"

"Yup! Hit the Organization where it hurts, taking their two prized Agents," Amy said. "It's very likely that the Organization will send a team of Agents to rescue you. But we'll be long gone and you'll be moved to another location by then. If Agent 36's father is smart he'll come pick you guys up soon."

"I have no father," I said. "The father that I had left his post over thirty years ago. The way I see it he should be dead."

Amy snorted. "Oh that's wonderful! Who's that delusional one now? Nope. Your father's alive and well. You'll see."

There was a knock on the door and Amy answered it. The man that kidnapped George and I walked into the room and I wanted to kick his ass just to wipe the smug look off his face.

"It seems your father is one smart man," the man said.

As soon as they release the handcuffs I'm kicking this guy's ass! I thought.

George looked at me with a questioning look but then he seemed to understand what I may or may not be thinking. But before I could put my plan in action the unmistakable sound of a gun clicked. I looked up to see Amy holding a gun pointing it at me. "Nope. Whatever you're thinking, put that thought out of your head. You think we didn't come prepared for this shit? You're not escaping on our watch." She looked over at the man. "Right Anthony?"

Anthony nodded. "Yep." He snickered. "Although it would be an honor to have my ass kicked by the famous Agent 36. But alas that is not meant to happen. Blade is here. Let's get this show on the road."

Anthony took out a pair of handcuffs and when he released the silver chain that I was cuffed to he quickly cuffed my hands behind my back. He did the same thing to George and then they got us to our feet off the bed and practically pushed us out the door.

We stopped short when we saw a guy standing at the end of the hallway. It was the same man that I hadn't seen in over thirty years. It was the very same man that I used to call Dad.

  {Blade}

Even when I came face to face with my daughter I still wasn't happy with Anthony kidnapping her the way that he did. I figured I'd deal with him soon after I escorted Eve to the car. That's what I did. After I had my men escort Eve outside I turned to Anthony. "I'm not happy with you at all Anthony."

Anthony shrugged. "Eh, I just did what you were too scared to do. Using the excuse of 'I'm just waiting until she comes to me to end me' is about as cowardly as you can get."

I paused at that statement because maybe he had a point? After all this time I could've gone to her and made her face me but I didn't. I think it's not because of being a coward but because I didn't want Eve to have my blood on her hands just yet. Oh no, I had too many things to set up before that ever takes place.

I shook my head. "I'm not a coward as you say. Now, I got a score to settle with you."

I activated my Demon Power and proceeded to pick Anthony up and threw him in the air into a nearby wall. After that I deactivated my Demon Power. Anthony stood up and dusted himself off. "Is that it?"

"No I'm not done with you yet," I growled. I took out my gun and pointed at him. The handgun that I held in my hand was one that I made when I first left the Organization. It was a black semi automatic handgun with my name on it. "Round all fifty of your people that work at this location up immediately!"

Anthony's jaw dropped. "How did you know how many people worked here?"

"Tracking Abilities," I answered. "Gather your people up now!"

Anthony did as he was told by grabbing a walkie talkie and telling all of his people to meet him in the main lobby area. When they came into the lobby area and they were lined up I said, "Now, pick fifteen of your people that you think are really valuable and you don't want to lose."

Anthony gave me a wary glance but did as he was told. Once he did that I took out my cell phone and dialed Diego's number. "Send them in."

That was all I said after that Diego sent a hundred of my men into the lobby area of the Cobra's lair. I looked at them and ordered, "Leave the fifteen people that are standing beside Anthony alone, we're taking the rest with us."

"What!" Anthony said. "You can't do that!"

"I can and I will," I sneered. As I turned around to leave I said, "And just make sure you don't try anything while I'm on my way out…"

I activated my Demon Power again and used that to stun Anthony and the people he picked to stay with him. I motioned for my men to follow me as I walked out the door.

The drive to my lair felt long because there was an awkward silence. When we arrived at the lair I escorted them to the guest rooms that I had ready for them. I knew George was Eve's brother-in-law so I had them in separate rooms. Honestly, even if they were a couple I'd still have them in separate rooms. My room is right across the hall and I wouldn't put past them if they were a couple to have sex just to cope with a stressful situation.

After I showed George to his room I uncuffed him and left. When I got to Eve's room once I uncuffed her she sat down on the bed. I pulled up a chair and sat down across from her.

"Wow look at you… You're all grown up," I said.

Eve rolled her eyes. "Yeah that happens when time keeps going forward. You don't get younger, you get older."

I snorted. "Eve, you have your mother's sense of humor indeed. At least you got your looks from me."

"Who told you that you could call me Eve?" Eve said. "That nickname is only reserved for friends and family. I might've called you father at one point of time but from the way I see it I'm looking at a total stranger. Not to mention you're a traitor so you don't have the right to call me by my real name. It's Agent 36 to you!"

I opened my mouth and shut it. I expected her to be angry with me but not that type of anger. I composed myself, "Okay look I know you're angry but maybe we try to get to know each other? At least do that much-"

Eve cut me off, "No I'm not angry if anything I'm annoyed that you had the audacity to kidnap me while I'm on my hard earned vacation!"

My jaw dropped. "Seriously? That's what you're upset with? You don't wanna know why I left the Organization when you were so young?"

She gave a sarcastic snort. "Why should I want to know anything about the man who abandoned his family? I'm sure you had your reasons, but know this. The moment you give me an inch I will go a mile by doing my job by way of killing you."

"Okay even though you don't want to know-" I started. But I stopped talking when I found myself unable to move. I looked at Eve to see that her green eyes had turned red. Now that I knew she had activated her Demon Powers I managed to activate mine. "Why you sneaky little bitch!"

I was able to see how strong Eve's Demon Powers were and they were pretty strong. Of course they were strong because they weren't then she wouldn't have been able to destroy a meteorite a few years ago. Even though her Demon Powers are strong they lacked stability at the moment. That was her weakness at the moment and I used it by pushing her Demon Powers back. There was a bright light and Eve fell to the ground unconscious.

I stood up and dusted myself off. Then I checked to see if Eve was still alive and when I found a plus and that she was breathing I picked her up and placed her on the bed and sighed, "This is not how I wanted our first meeting to go. But don't worry we will meet again and then we will have our showdown."

Without another word I left the room and made sure to have one of my men stand guard.

  {Eve}

The moment I blacked out I woke up again. Or at least I thought I was awake. As I looked around I noticed that the place I was in was the same place that I met Fate in. When I figured that out I was thoroughly annoyed. Mostly because the person who I used to call father kidnapped me while I was on vacation, now I’m pretty sure Fate put me in some sort of coma in order to talk to me.

I sat down by the round table and I saw George and the rest of the team of Super Agents were sitting at the round table too.

There was a bright light and Fate appeared in front of us. She looked at me. "Well someone's in a mood right now."

"Yeah you'd be in a mood if you got kidnapped by some guy who claims to be your father on your vacation and then you wind up in the spirit realm talking to you," I said.

Fate snickered as she took her seat at the round table. "Alright I get it. But I have some information to relay to you. Eve, you and Blade will have your showdown. It's not time yet. To everyone you guys are now the modern day knights!"

I tilted my head. "We're Super Agents not knights."

"The knights who started the Kingdom of the Organization are equivalent to Super Agents. Eve, you're the new 1st Knight, George, you're the new 2nd Knight, Charlotte, you're the new 3rd Knight, Jacob, you're the new 4th Knight, Evan, you're the new 5th Knight and last but not least, Daisy, you're the new 6th Knight," Fate said.

When Daisy heard that she was now the new sixth Knight her eyes went wide. "No way in hell am I doing any testing on anyone!"

Fate shook her head. "You won't be doing what Uncle 42 does. His descendants will carry on his work for him. No, you will fight alongside the rest of the Super Agents. A Knight's destiny is one of hardships, relationships and love. Mostly love though. People will be envious of you and covet what doesn't belong to them. I know for a fact you will fight to keep what's yours. There is a war coming."

"That makes sense because there are factions who want to take the Organization down. And I doubt they'll be able to do it," Jacob said.

Fate nodded. "Correct, they won't bring down the Organization but they'll try. There will be losses mostly on the factions side but with each loss there will be something new to gain. The war will start the moment the man who claims to be his enemy's father dies and the war will end when the one who schemes to win the heart of the 2nd Knight dies."

George's eyes went wide. "Triple X or Branden won't get killed will they?"

Fate shook her head. "No they won't. They aren't scheming to win your heart are they?"

George smiled and shook his head. "No, because they've already won it."

"Exactly. Don't worry about them. Of course you guys will have some disagreements along the way but that's life. Same thing with Eve and her family. That's life that's how things go," Fate said. "However, once the war starts the 1st Knight will have to sit out for a year."

  I gasped. "What! Why?"

Fate smiled. "You'll see soon enough." She turned her attention to George. "And about the one who's scheming to win your heart, I'll give you a name. Elder Amanda. That is all I can say."

"Is she the one scheming?" George asked.

"What do you think?" Fate asked.

  "Oh," George said.

"And there's another thing," Fate said. "What is a Knight without their sword?"

A bright light flashed on the table and when the light was gone silver swords with a black handles appeared in front of each of us.

"Of course you're not expected to carry these around at full size all the time, so they will be sealed away inside of you and only come out in times of crisis," Fate said.

After she said that the swords that were lying on the table in front of us one sword sat in front of each of us. The swords levitated a little bit in the air and came towards us. I felt the warmth from my when it went into me.

Fate smiled. "Now that I've relayed everything that needs to be relayed and given you your swords it's time for you to wake up now. Don't worry you've been out for a couple of hours."

"Oh before we wake up, Eve and George can either one of you tell us where you are?" Jacob asked.

I shook my head. "I have no idea where I am because I'm just in a regular room right now. I wasn't able to figure out where we were going because I wasn't paying attention. I was and still am pissed about the fact that I got kidnapped while I was on vacation."

Daisy and Evan snorted because they know how much I love my time off. Especially now since I have a family to spend it with.

Jacob didn't pay attention to their amusement when he turned to and asked the same question. George answered, "The only thing I could tell was that the route seemed like it was in some back alley in a downtown area. I remember us going into an underground garage and we were escorted into a building that looked like a mansion on the inside."

"Well that helps narrow down locations," Daisy said with sarcasm.

  "Daisy!" Evan said.

George shrugged. "It's okay but that's all I remember seeing."

"Are they planning on sending you guys to come rescue us?" I asked.

"Not yet," Jacob said. "They want to find your location first. Did you know that Levi had a tracker placed on you Eve?"

I nodded. "Yeah he told me about it. It's something the Organization provides for married couples that way your spouse can see whether or not you're on a mission and when you're supposed to return and what condition you might be in when you get back. I say that's great as long as the spouse isn't too controlling about it. But Levi doesn't seem to have a controlling bone in his body. Damn I miss him now that I think about him. I miss Zoey too. I bet they're worried sick about me."

"Don't worry, you and George will be home soon," Fate said.

"Oh and the reason why we haven't been able to track your location even with the tracker is that there's something jamming the signal or we would've found you by now," Jacob said.

"But like Fate just said you'll be home soon," Daisy said. "So no worries okay?"

  I smiled. "Yeah you're right."

"Okay now that that's been taken care of. It's time for you guys to wake up," Fate said. She snapped her fingers and I woke up.
