Chapter 16 - "The Demon Generals Deception: Plans, Lightning, and Unwanted Attention"

The scene unfolded in the dark underground chamber, where the demon generals had gathered once again. This time, their focus was entirely on a replay of Fujino Tetsuya's absurd summoning of the Land Spirit.

Dahlia, General of the Demon Army, stood at the head of the table, her usual commanding presence taking on an almost reverential quality. She watched the screen intently, her lips curling into a respectful, yet amused, smile. The image of Fujino, struck repeatedly by lightning while attempting to write a love poem, played out in front of her.

"Behold, my master..." Dahlia spoke with an almost worshipful tone, "The magnificent Fujino Tetsuya."

The other generals exchanged confused glances. They couldn't fathom why Dahlia, of all demons, was showing such... respect for the pathetic display unfolding on the screen. A towering, scarred warrior with a broad build leaned forward, her brows furrowing. "Wait, you mean to say that this... this is the Demon Lord we've been hearing about?"

Dahlia’s eyes never left the screen. “Yes, that is the brilliance of my master. A man of extraordinary power and... calculated absurdity.”

The generals were silent, still processing the ridiculousness of the scene playing out before them. But Dahlia’s unshakable conviction sent a chill down their spines. This wasn’t the first time she had spoken about Fujino in such a reverent manner. There was clearly something more to this situation than met the eye.

Lilith Nocturna, the succubus general with beauty beyond compare, stepped forward, her heels clicking with each stride. She was as poised and alluring as ever, with a dangerous glint in her crimson eyes. But as she neared the table, her lips curled into a mischievous, almost perverted grin as she watched the replay.

Dahlia nodded to Lilith as the succubus took her place at the table, leaning in slightly as her eyes locked onto the screen. “Ah, Lilith, just in time,” Dahlia said with a nod. "I see you’ve noticed my master’s… unique methods."

Lilith’s grin only widened. “Oh, I’ve noticed,” she purred, her voice dripping with intrigue. “I’ve never seen a man so... captivatingly ridiculous.” Her eyes never left Fujino’s twitching form on the screen. “There’s something enticing about him, wouldn’t you agree?”

Dahlia nodded solemnly, her gaze never wavering from the screen. “Indeed. My respect for him knows no bounds. He has mastered the art of deception. By pretending to be this... incompetent fool, he lulls his enemies into complacency.”

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Lilith leaned back, her grin turning more predatory. “Oh, he’s playing a game, all right. But I see something else. I think he’s seducing the land spirit... in his own way.” She chuckled darkly, her perverted smile growing wider. “It’s almost like watching a man... play the world like a game of chess. A mysterious game.”

Dahlia, always the staunch supporter, responded with utmost reverence. “That is exactly it. Fujino is a master of manipulation, hiding his true intentions behind an act of absurdity. It is nothing short of genius.”

Lilith’s perverted grin never faded as she tilted her head, eyeing Fujino’s exhausted, twitching form on the screen. “Mmm... He’s got potential. A lot of potential... and a lot of appeal.” Her gaze shifted toward Dahlia. “But, you know, I don’t think you fully understand the depth of his charms, Dahlia.”

Dahlia turned her gaze to Lilith, raising an eyebrow in challenge. "What are you implying, Lilith?"

Lilith’s grin deepened, her voice lowering to a sultry whisper. “Oh, I’m just saying, Dahlia... I’ve been... watching him. Fujino is something else. Maybe it’s not just his power, but the way he seems to be... naturally drawing people in. A man who can make light of his failures, laugh through every lightning strike, and still command respect from the land itself...” Lilith’s eyes flickered with an unmistakable hunger. “He’s... irresistible.”

Dahlia straightened, her posture still regal and commanding. But beneath her calm demeanor, there was a flicker of something more—perhaps a deep understanding of the situation that no one else quite grasped. “He is my master,” Dahlia said quietly, “and I will stand by him. No matter what you plan, Lilith, my loyalty is unwavering.”

Lilith chuckled, the amusement in her eyes never fading. “Loyalty? Oh, Dahlia, you’re too serious. There’s no harm in having a little fun, is there?” She leaned in closer, her lips almost brushing Dahlia’s ear as she spoke in a teasing tone. “I think Fujino is worth... getting to know better. And I’ve got a few... plans of my own to ensure he and I have more... private time together.”

Dahlia’s expression hardened for a moment, but she maintained her composure. “If you think I’ll let you have him so easily, you are gravely mistaken.”

Lilith pulled back, still smiling. "Oh, I’m not taking him from you, Dahlia. I’m simply getting close... for information’s sake."

The generals were now entirely confused. They had no idea where this conversation was going, but the tension between Dahlia and Lilith was palpable. It was clear now—Lilith was interested in Fujino, and her intentions were anything but innocent.

As the replay continued, showing Fujino’s bumbling attempts and repeated lightning strikes, Dahlia finally spoke with finality.

“Fujino is my master. And I will protect him from any who threaten him,” she said, her voice filled with an unyielding sense of loyalty.

Lilith, still grinning, met her gaze. “We’ll see about that, Dahlia. After all... he’s bound to need more than one general to help him with his... ‘plans’.”

And so, the demons of the underworld sat in silence, watching the absurd and somehow captivating display of Fujino’s summoning attempt, while Lilith and Dahlia’s rivalry began to take shape.
