Chapter 7- Goblin exterminator

It did not take long to find the goblin camp. From what I could tell, they had turned a rge cave into their base. I couldn't tell how many were inside, but it couldn't have been too many. After all, goblins didn't form rge tribes unless an especially powerful individual forced them to obey.

Sneaking closer to the cave entrance, I noticed four of them sitting around a campfire. They were sitting there, communicating in some strange tongue made up of grunts and annoying sounds. These ones, unlike the goblin I had fought earlier, had swords nearby. I needed a pn in order to win this fight...

Anyways, I used draconic breath on them. They did not survive. Unfortunately, they did scream quite loudly before dropping dead. That had probably alerted the entire cave. Woops.

I quickly grabbed one of the swords that were on the ground and got ready for a fight. Sure, I didn't know how to properly use it, but my stats were way higher than the goblin's. I should be able to brute force my way through this.

I braced myself as goblins started to come out. At first there was only one or two, but I started getting worried when the fifth one showed up. I tried using draconic breath again, but it seemed to be on some sort of cooldown. To be fair, I probably should have checked how it worked before...

I quickly went through all of my knowledge on how to use a sword before the goblins reached me. I needed to hit stuff with the sharp part. Yeah, that was it.

I swung my sword as soon as one of them got in range. It got cut in half. Unfortunately, I had put way too much strength into that swing which lead to me almost falling over. I stumbled backwards to dodge the strikes of the goblins who didn't seem to know what they were doing any more than me. Thankfully, I wasn't the only one who didn't know how to fight here. Competent opponents would have been trouble.

A short, extremely akward and messy fight ter, I stood triumphant. My sword had snapped in half after dispatching two more goblins, so I hurled it to get rid of the fourth goblin. The st one died to a good old punch in the face.

Picking up another sword, I looked around the cave. It went quite a bit deeper. I was about to go explore when I noticed that I was completely covered in blood. It wasn't exactly surprising considering the mess I had made, but it was still disgusting. That's when I noticed a system notification.

That was quite nice. However, I still wanted to finish clearing the cave and to find a way to clean myself before checking status stuff. Being covered in blood was not enjoyable and I absolutely did not want to experience it for a second longer than required.

Going deeper in, I found a rger room that looked like the end of the cave. On a makeshift throne in the middle of the room was a slightly taller goblin that was holding a strange staff. I wasn't too sure as to what that was about, but it looked stronger than the rest. That suspicion was confirmed when it used ice magic to send an ice spear flying at me.

After dodging out of the way, I tried to get closer to it. Unfortunately, it just kept sending more and more ice spears my way. I couldn't approach it at all. Fed up with it's nonsense, I opted to throw my sword straight at it. I actually did score a hit, but the strange goblin survived the cut. Wanting to press my advantage, I ran closer to finish it off. Unfortunately, the annoying monster raised a wall of ice between us.

The wall was quite durable. I tried punching through, but that did not yield any result. Even worse, the goblin looked like he was taunting me. That was absolutely unnacceptable. I couldn't just let some punny goblin ugh at me.

I used my draconic breath straight on the ice wall and managed to melt a hole rge enough to fit in. Interestingly enough, the goblin spellcaster wasn't shooting ice spears anymore. It must have been out of mana or something. Running up to it for one final time, I gave it a solid punch in the face. That did the trick.

After calming down, I realised that I was acting a bit strange. I wouldn't usually get this angry over a random thing or person taunting me. Was the dragon blood affecting my mind?

That moment, however, was when I noticed something far more important than my current preoccupations. There was a pile of about a hundred coins in a corner of the room. Sure, most of them were bronze and silver coins, but I could clearly see a few gold coins mixed in.

  "Ohhhhh, shiny!" (Dragonfly)

I ended up using the pile of coins as a pillow that night. Not sure why.
