Looking at the bounty board, I was a bit disapointed. There were barely any quests above F-rank. In fact, most of the avaible options were about collecting a type of herb or another. If we wanted to do something that matched our rank, our only choice was to sy an orc tribe that had settled nearby.

  That's what we picked, obviously. Thankfully, the quest's poster included a rough map indicating where the targets were st seen.

  A short while ter, we were outside of the vilge, running straight into the forest again.

  "Right, I just remembered that I forgot to ask something. Nix, what's your level?" (Dragonfly)

  "Oh, I'm level 8. What about you?" (Nix)

  Wait, wait, she was this fast at level 8? That didn't seem normal at all. To be fair, I couldn't talk too much either considering the fact that I was also kind of overpowered for my level. Still, it was odd.

  "I'm level 5. So... do you know why you are this strong? In my case, it's because of the dragon blood that I already told you about, but what about you?" (Dragonfly)

  She looked like she was thinking deeply for a moment. Well, we were still running, so she didn't look like she was thinking that deeply, but that's not important.

  "No, I do have a weird blessing with no description, but that's the only thing." (Nix)

  "Wait, you have a weird blessing too? Does it say who gave it to you?" (Dragonfly)

  "No, it just puts a bunch of question marks. I don't know what it does, but I've had it since forever. It's mysterious and cool, tho!" (Nix)

  Apparently I wasn't the only one with that thing. I had briefly met the being responsible for it in a dream before, but I didn't get much information about what the blessing was and why I had it. Now, however, I had an additional question. What was the criteria for getting this and how many had it?

  The odds of Nix and I having it without anyone else having it were quite low. I sure did hope that this wasn't something that was frequent, or we would have issues.

  "Yeah, I guess that it's cool. I have the same thing, but I've only gotten it after being injected with dragon blood. It's pretty recent, actually." (Dragonfly)

  "Oh! Maybe it's a blessing from a dragon god then? Wait, no, that doesn't make sense, I'm not a dragon." (Nix)

  "Nix, we don't even know if we were blessed by the same mysterious being." (Dragonfly)

  "Oh, that's true..." (Nix)

  We had reached the forest's edge at this point and we were now running between the trees. Thankfully, there were very few bushes on the ground, so we weren't slowed down too much.

  "According to the map, we should be getting close to the orc tribe. We might want to quiet down in order to get the drop on our targets." (Dragonfly)

  "Ok!" (Nix)

  After saying that far louder than what was required, Nix slowed down and began walking while barely making any noise. I followed behind her, but I unfortunately wasn't as sneaky as a fox. Still, I was managing.

  After walking for a good while, we began to hear loud grunts. Peeking from behind a tree, we saw a tall humanoid monster. It had green skin and was almost as ugly as a goblin. In fact, the easiest way to describe this thing would be to call it a tall goblin.

  It appeared to be patrolling the area, looking for something. From what I knew about orcs, it was probably just trying to find something to kill. These monsters were mostly known for always wanting to fight everything and anything. In fact, if they were unable to find something to kill, they had a tendency to turn on each other. If goblins were bandits, these brutes were simply mindless killers. Still, they were also far stronger than goblins.

  Readying my weapon, I saw that Nix was preparing a lightning spell. As soon as the orc turned the other way, I rushed towards it's back while my friend zapped it with electricity to paralyse it. I struck at it's neck with my bde while it was unable to move and instantly ended the fight.

  To be fair, it was just a regur orc, but I hadn't even felt any resistance when my bde had cut through the monster. This Draconic Bde Prototype really was worthy of it's legendary item status, despite the odd name.

  "Yay, we won!" (Nix)

  "Yes, but we need to exterminate the whole tribe, not just one." (Dragonfly)

  Looting the corpse, I found nothing of value. Orcs were truly the lowest of monsters. Even goblins at least had the decency to have shinies around.
