"Now that the mastermind is dead, can't you reduce the punishment for the accomplices a bit?" She raised her eyes, and her sapphire-like blue eyes sparkled with a hint of coquetry.
Caius didn't answer her for a while.
Cynthia called out to him again, and he finally threw away the bow and arrow in his hand, still muttering "you have the right to choose".
Cassia never thought that when she said she wanted a watchdog, Kyrios would actually turn Ted into a dog.
A dark aura enveloped Ted's body for a few seconds, and he transformed into a sheepdog with fiery red fur.
Ted, who had shrunk in size, easily wriggled free from the rope, shook off his fur and awkwardly spun around in circles on the spot.
This completely animalistic form left Cynthia in shock and incredulity.
!!!
It's really a dog!
Caius slightly raised his chin, with a hint of pride, "Satisfied?"
"Satisfied." Cynthia gazed at the sheepdog that had jumped down from the table and fell into deep thought.
She's a little afraid that if she makes him unhappy in the future, she'll also be turned into a dog. What should she do?
Caius merely lowered his head and gave Ted a cold glance. "You can throw it into any farmhouse with a sheepfold."
"Let's go look at the house instead." Just as Cynthia was bending down to pet Ted's dog, a cold snort came from above, "Dare to touch it with your hand, and you'll be sleeping on the floor tonight."
Cynthia's fingers stiffened and withdrew like lightning. She straightened up, dissatisfied, and said, "Can it get home by itself?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Ted, who had transformed into a sheepdog, shook his leg and dashed out of the crowd, disappearing into the darkness.
Caius finally relaxed his expression and looked at Cynthia, "There's no stupid dog that can't find its den."
Cynthia:
She always feels like he's been speaking with double meaning and cursing lately.
As Ted, now a dog, runs away, this punishment comes to an end.
One student was still alive, and Principal Norman visibly breathed a sigh of relief.
He restored all order to normal. For the prey that didn't count towards their score, they would bring them back to the village for a feast of wine and meat.
Whether out of prior agreement or apology, Norman invited Cynthia and Kaylus to a barbecue, and he even prepared a brown bear to entertain them.
Caius had no interest in eating, and Cynthia agreed with a happy face. He didn't say anything, or maybe he thought she was quite stimulated today, so indulging her wouldn't be a problem.
But with Caius's arrival, a massive bonfire was built for the revelry. The ravens fell silent.
All the students sat in a circle, he walked in like a statue and directly broke open a gap in the circle. Within four or five meters to his left and right, no one dared to approach except for Cynthia.
She sometimes thought that Kairos was pitiful because his own brutal temper had left him without a single friend, and people were all afraid of him to the point of death.
I really don't know what he will think when he returns to the Bright God one day, and what these people will think.
Some peasant women were helping with the barbecue on one side, everyone was busy, and those who chatted together only whispered to each other.
The students were in awe and fear, they ate with unease, Cynthia also felt that it was pointless to continue like this, especially since Principal Norman personally came over to hand out the bear paws.
She tasted a few mouthfuls of the meat, looked at the bonfire in front of her, then glanced at Kaelus beside her, put down the plate and reached out to pull his cloak. "There's a big lawn outside our house, and behind it there's a stream. Why don't we go there and have a barbecue ourselves?"
"There's already one here." Kaelis glanced at her, his expression puzzled, as if to say why bother going to the trouble of doing it himself.
He really has no idea how much pressure his presence brings to the students, the harm of being self-centered.
Cynthia should have expected this outcome too. She patiently persuaded him, "You don't even take a bite, and I want you to try my cooking."
Kairos's bewildered expression froze, then he squeezed out a strange smile, "You can roast meat?"
Cynthia was a bit annoyed, this contemptuous expression is really looking down on her culinary skills!
"Never mind, you don't need to eat anyway." She muttered angrily, releasing her grip on his cloak and standing up to find a peasant woman by herself.
The two of them chatted for a bit, and then Cynthia smiled all over her face as she took the big bag of meat from her. "Can you also help me peel it? That would be great! I'll send the lion to you tomorrow, and the price will definitely be no problem."
"No, no charge!" The peasant woman hastily shook her head in refusal.
"There's a deal then, you must be rewarded. Please help me build a bonfire." Cynthia smiled.
Caius sat there watching her converse, his focused gaze unconsciously softening until he noticed Cynthia leaving with a peasant woman and a sack of meat without even looking back, at which point his eyes instantly turned cold, a sharp chill flashing in their depths.
The emotional change on his body directly scared away several students closest to him.
Caius finally realized how out of place his presence was, he got up with a straight face and left without saying a word.
As the two of them walked away, one in front and one behind, the originally silent bonfire pile finally started to have people chatting and discussing.
"To be honest, this is my first time seeing Lord Karius up close! He's really too handsome!" a student whispered in amazement, "And his pet, it looks like an exquisite doll."
"The incarnation of the dark god is no different from the appearance of God, of course it's beautiful." The student replied.
"He directly killed Angela who had a great talent for pets!" A girl was frightened.
"If it wasn't for Angela letting the lion bite people, she would have been dead long ago! I think she wanted to take revenge for Elisa and her sister, but ended up harming herself instead."
The argument was quite big, but anyway it became lively.
Cynthia brought a pile of already processed meat back into the house, outside which the sheepdog Ted was quietly lying beside the dead lion.
She went into the house and rummaged for some tools, then set up a bonfire with the farmer's wife on the lawn behind the house.
The peasant woman walked away, effortlessly dragging the massive male lion with her. Cynthia looked at her robust back, honed from years of hard labor, and once again lamented that she was a useless person.
Kairos returned with a gloomy face, his body emitting a chilly aura.
Cynthia picked up the thin blanket on the sofa, looked at his poor complexion, and calmly walked over to pull one of his hands. "Let's go, let's go eat barbecue together."
She forcibly inserted her slender fingers into his finger gaps, but didn't pull him.
