Chapter 28: She wanted to stay in Tamriel

She knew she had to calm down, they were just a few corpses that had nothing to do with her, and she still had things to attend to.

  I'm very scared.

It wasn't until a while later that Cynthia found her somewhat trembling voice again.

Her lips had almost lost their color, and her fragmented gaze was filled with panic.

Kairos' expression turned strange again, as if explaining, "I didn't plan on nailing you there anyway."

He was as cold-blooded as a beast, and even his comfort was so vicious.

Cynthia struggled to control her feet that wanted to run recklessly, she took a step closer to Kayus and then gently pressed her forehead against his chest, whispering softly, "Let's go to the Eternal Night Forest, Kayus, I don't want to see those corpses anymore, don't make me look again."

"You've just arrived." Kael's discontented reply.

"They hurt you, but I didn't!" Cynthia lifted her head, and suddenly became almost hysterical as she said: "I've never hurt you from start to finish, you can't always impose your hatred for brother on me."

Her body was trembling uncontrollably, and this kind of emotional torture she grasped perfectly.

"I agree to come and see the execution ground, just hope you can put aside your prejudices." Cynthia said painfully, until finally she buried her head in his arms and cried, wiping those tears on his clean clothes that couldn't find a speck of dust.

The Rhodanian saintess who lost her divine magic, a fragile impossibility.

It was clear that Kael was taken aback by her words. She couldn't see his expression but heard the grinding of his teeth.

Kairos put her hands on her waist and said somewhat anxiously: "Stop your tears!"

Cynthia didn't listen to him at all, as long as he wasn't going to leave, she was determined to keep crying until he finally gave in.

A dark, dense fog slowly enveloped the two of them.

"Are we leaving?" She raised her head, her eyes were blurry with tears and her nose had turned red, looking pitiful.

"Yes, I'm leaving." Kael quickly replied, hating the tears that came out of her eyes, and even used his free hand to place his finger at the outer corner of her eye, trying to stop those wet things from coming out.

Having gotten a definite answer, Cynthia was satisfied and wiped away her tears.

Caius stormed off in a rage, taking Cynthia with him and leaving the execution grounds behind, the sensation of instantaneous movement feeling as though it would rip her soul from her body.

The speed was too fast, and she was extra worried that she would be flung out except for tightly burying herself in front of Kael's chest and grabbing onto his clothes.

He probably only took a few seconds to bring her to the Eternal Night Forest, which was much faster than the transmission array.

When both feet stepped on the substantial soft ground again, Cynthia opened her tightly closed eyes a crack.

"Have we arrived at the Eternal Night Forest?"

Kai'er glanced at her red eyes and replied impatiently, "Mm-hmm."

"Let me go back and wash your clothes for you." Cynthia took two steps back, looking at the wet patch on his chest with extra embarrassment.

Caius let out a cold snort, "Rhodania was wise not to make you a saint."

Cynthia pursed her lips, what a hateful guy.

The sky had already darkened, she looked around, the lush green cedar forest began to be shrouded in a faint misty air, it was about to rain.

Rainwater will wash away many traces.

While Kael brought her over was on the edge of that stream, with this stream as the boundary, opposite is Lays' chassis.

Thinking of the vampire who was going to transform her, Cynthia turned her face and said hesitantly: "Can you go with me? I want to take a look at the opposite side."

"That's Lais' territory." Kael's tone was flat and didn't seem to be inclined to agree with her unreasonable request.

"I also wanted to go back myself, but he said he was going to transform me, I don't want to be caught and transformed into a vampire." Cynthia worriedly said: "I also don't like the smell of mud from the grave on him."

Kai'er cast a sidelong glance at her, with obvious disdain in his eyes.

Cynthia was slightly disappointed and lowered her head, just as she was about to think of another strategy, everything in front of her became a blur, a hand was placed on her waist and she was swept up and carried quickly across the gurgling brook.

It felt like sitting in a train that was traveling at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, and the fast wind blowing on her face made Cynthia feel painful. The hood on her head was blown off, forcing her to bury her face back into Kael's chest.

She really relies on him too much.

Keai suddenly had a strange thought.

His icy gaze suddenly stopped when he spotted an overturned carriage.

Kairos released her, "You don't have much time before sunset."

"Thank you." Cynthia leaned against the tree to steady herself.

The carriage was surrounded by bodies lying horizontally and vertically, as well as the iron cage that had been pried open, empty inside.

She suppressed her nausea and grief, checked all the bodies to confirm Curtis was not among them, then followed the trail of horse tracks forward.

The branches around her ripped through the layer of black gauze that covered her ankles, scratching out bloody marks on her pale skin.

Cynthia didn't mind because she soon found a stiff corpse in the bushes.

Joyce, with her sheep-like curls and delicate features, who would blush when she smiled, was now stiff and stinking.

Lycan didn't transform him, he just bit him to death.

  He really died.

Cynthia stood in front of the corpse for a long time, silent.

"Mr. Kayus." She said in a low voice as she heard the footsteps approaching from behind, "You have people you dislike, I do too."

Cynthia crouched down to help Joyce tidy up her disheveled clothes, her tone very soft, falling with the fine rain on her head, "I wish it was Joyce who had been turned into a vampire instead of Curtis."

"Do you want revenge?" Kaelos gazed at her coldly, seemingly mocking her audacity. "You were exiled by Rhodania, abandoned by the Light, and lost your powers. What will you use for revenge?"

Cynthia tidied up Joyce's attire and whispered: "I wanted to stay in Tamriel, with you."

Kairos's face turned cold, his scarlet eyes turned dark red, and a storm gathered inside, "You want to use me to kill your sister?"

"It's to save my life." Cynthia looked up, unafraid of his easily ignited anger. "Even if I can return to Rydania in the future, I'll still be dead. Minnie won't let me off, and brother can't protect me. Staying here may give me a glimmer of hope."

"Indeed." Kael sneered, "Your foolishly arrogant brother will only hasten your demise."
