Chapter 29: He believed no beast could dig him out now

Cynthia shook her head seriously, "It's me being too weak, I don't have enough ability to protect myself."

Caius did not deny her words, this is an undeniable fact.

Of course, he didn't agree to let her stay in Tamolia either. He didn't answer this question, or maybe he just didn't know how to answer it. A conflicting emotion was always tearing his brain apart, and he hated the feeling of being controlled by emotions.

"Can you help me bury Joyce? At least, don't let him lie here alone and be devoured by beasts." Cynthia was also surprised that he could change his mind so quickly. She stood up, turned around to face him, her eyes still full of pleading.

She always liked to look at him with this pitiful and innocent lamb-like eyes, as if he were the all-powerful god of this world.

"That's just a insignificant human," Kael said, furrowing his brow, ignoring her pleading tone with a cold and terrible "No."

Cynthia quietly looked at him for a while, and finally hung her head in despair, saying: "Well, then wait for me for a moment, he is my most loyal knight, I cannot let him be devoured by beasts."

She didn't force Kael to do something for her, but found a relatively clean piece of land with fewer ferns, then untied the cloak and hung it on a branch, squatted down and raised her two white arms, digging bare-handed.

Kai Er saw her action, the fire in his eyes was suddenly replaced by a cool tone, he stood there like a statue and said with a sharp tongue: "He can't feel what you've done for him."

"It's enough if my intention is understood."

The light rain on her head gradually grew heavier, Cynthia's hair was already clinging to her back, the temperature in the forest was not high at all, and those icy raindrops hitting her body almost froze to the bone.

Kairos had been watching her with a sarcastic expression as she walked away stubbornly, seemingly waiting for her to give up.

Her fingers ceaselessly dug into the earth, scooping out mud, and the soil that had been soaked by the rain became very loose. Although it was easy to dig, Cynthia's tender skin could not withstand such a massive workload.

The rainwater fell down her nose tip, and she could hardly tell whether it was her own tears or the rainwater from her forehead.

Caius remained silent, but Cynthia turned her face, with a frozen pale complexion, and trembled as she said: "Mr. Caius, please put on my cloak, it's a bit cold..."

"You look like you need it more than I do." Kael's face twisted slightly as he stood under a massive ironwood tree, the raindrops filtering through the leaves to reach him in pitifully small amounts.

"Ah, indeed it is." Cynthia smiled at him and turned back to dig silently.

"That's enough, Cynthia!" Kaelus seemed to have had enough, he looked at her body which was almost twisted and fell to the ground, walked quickly from under the tree, and pulled her up from the ground with one hand, "The sun has set, follow me back."

The anger on his body was mixed with a kind of jealousy that he himself had not noticed, and he said angrily: "I'm already tolerant enough!"

His low-pitched voice was a bit sharp, but still sounded so good.

Cynthia sulkily nestled into his chest, but on Joyce's issue she still refused to back down, "If we can't finish today, I'll come again early tomorrow."

Caius's hand was clenched so tightly that the veins on the back of his hand were about to burst, and he violently swung his hand at the large pit Joyce had just dug in the mud, pushing a large amount of soil from the middle to both sides. In just a few seconds, it became a big enough hole to bury Joyce.

Joyce's body was lifted by an invisible force and thrown into the big pit, all the soil refilled like a reversed tape, quickly restoring the pit to its original state. Kayus even transplanted a giant iron fir tree on top of it, grinding his teeth and saying viciously: "I believe no wild beast can dig him out again."

The hand wrapped around her waist was clenched tightly, yet Cynthia hooked up the corner of her lips. Wasn't Kael's tolerance for her expanding non-stop? This was indeed a good thing.

"Thank you," she said softly, and her hand went to pull down the cloak from the branch beside her.

Caius ignored her thanks and, seething with anger, swept her into his chest and carried her back home from the Eternal Night Forest.

Cynthia shivered as she walked in a straight line, the first thing she did when she got home was to grab her pajamas and rush into the bathroom for a hot bath. Of course, she didn't forget to turn back and leave a sentence for Kael, "I'll be quick, let's have dinner together tonight."

She didn't want to go back to the pharmacist and drink that sweet-tasting medicine again, so she quickly finished her bath. Cynthia felt that the wounds on her ankle and fingertips were throbbing with pain.

She took a deep breath and came out of the bathroom, but there was no one in the house.

Kaius left, leaving without a word or explanation.

Cynthia walked gloomily to the fireplace, raised the fire, although she was certain that he was indeed a little different from her, but this strange temper was really hard to figure out.

The rain outside was pouring down heavily, washing the cold stone walls. The temperature in the house began to warm up, she touched her belly and looked at the darkening sky outside, then pulled down the curtains.

A man wrapped in a black robe, with a pair of bloodshot eyes filled with hatred, stared quietly at the small window that let in warm light.

  All night, Kael didn't come.

He returned to his own castle and once again smashed up the room that Anthony had only recently repaired.

Standing outside the door and listening to those rustling sounds, Anthony really couldn't hold back anymore. He knocked on the door and said loudly: "Is there anything I can help with, sir?"

Kairos's hand froze, his icy gaze fixed on the doorway, and he suddenly said, "Come in."

Anthony immediately retracted his wings from his back at this tone.

Of course, this is to avoid the risk of being broken by Khaos's anger, after all, it has happened before.

He pushed open the door and looked at the mess on the ground, a hint of heartache flashing across his eyes.

"Antony." Caius stood at the window, his voice growing calmer, speaking in a flat, declarative tone. "I couldn't kill Cynthia."

"Of course, she can be the bait to lure Prince Rydania over." Anton's matter-of-fact reply was accompanied by a sideways glance at Kael's expression, which suddenly made him feel uneasy.

So the master spent two days in his room, troubled by a woman he didn't want to kill over such a boring issue?!

But then again, Karius indeed had no experience with women, or rather he disliked being in contact with females.

Caius stared at Anthony's face with an expressionless gaze, "She is deluding herself into controlling my emotions."
