Shooting an angry g Casey, Sylvie took the moment to listen to her progeny use the voice that the charming dy had and figured out fast that Casey was only trying to soothe Kody before the realization overcame the advahinking vampire. “Kody.” Sylvie’s voice was still firm. “That song is what trapped the shadewraiths oher side before, you have to ig.”
“Why aren’t we affected, Sylvie?” Casey inquired while keeping her pressure on Kody’s wrist. “I mean I hear it, but the song is easily ignored and tuned out, much like listening to you drone on.” Casey winked.
Doing her best to review what she’d read io Xenos’, Sylvie went over all of the work that had to do with the portal itself. Much like she was sitting at a small table in a library, Sylvie flipped the pages in her mind and focused primarily on the portal itself. “Casey, there isn’t anything that I see…wait.” Sylvie paused and did her best to transte what she saw, “Well, we both know that the portal was designed as a failsafe to draw the shadewraiths out and drag them to the sedary pce with the dryods. I am still a little unclear why the dryods wahese things with them oher side, where they were seeking to form a new and mostly peaceful society.”
“Keep going Sylvie, It really doesn’t matter right now does it?” Casey quickly added a Kody tense up. “Try and keep calm Kody, please. I know how this looks.” She grumbled and watched Kody. “Fuck.”
Kody took in a deep breath and patted Casey’s hand. “I am not going to do anything Miss Rivers.” Kody politely whispered, “No, I am not particurly happy…” They paused and tapped Sylvie’s shoulder. “...however, I think I ahat question.” Kody then held up their free hand. “Oree in the woods at a time, right?”
Uo figure out what she was pletely reading, Sylvie took a guess. “If I had to guess, the white-wraith found a way to make the song attract our brethren. I only guess it is the link to the eclipse thing that I’ve seen for years and our bond sihen.”
“Blood match?” Casey purred and looked over to Sylvie, her sunlit eyes shimmering with joy. “We are a match, Taini.” A warm chill pulsed through Casey’s undead body. “Go on, try and use my blood, I am ready.”
“Casey, that ability of yours is awesome, I was thinking about how it might feel and you suddenly…” Sylvie looked at Kody who was simply half-gring at Sylvie. “...I knew I was going to try and and I think you know it's going to work.” Watg for some sort of answer from Casey’s glowing yellow eyes, Sylvie blew her lover a kiss and focused on Casey’s blood.
Immediately after Sylvie thought about Casey’s blood in jun with her own, the elder vampire had the sensation of being twice as capable as before. “This is wild.” Sylvie hopped around and then raised one eyebrow. “Let’s see what happens. You tell me when to stop, Casey.”
“No problem, I feel you…” Casey let go of Kody’s wrist for fear of crushing their bones. “I swear I am part of you…even closer.”
With Casey’s added blood use, Sylvie shifted inthost form and flew around the room. Draining at a slower pace, the elder vampiress was able to fly around the room and engage in a few items before she felt Casey’s addition starting to fade. A few seds ter, Sylvie floated down auro normal. “I am only moderately tired or hungry.” She looked over at Casey who was shaking. “Casey, sweetie…” Sylvie ran to the kit and back with a bottle of blood for her progeny to drink. “Here, don’t move, let me do this for you.” While she tipped the bottle up slowly for Casey to replenish herself, Sylvie kissed Casey on her cheek. “This flows both ways, the really iing part is that I used your blood then my own. It became a reservoir.”
Blood as a topic had always been a pretty fair and standard topic that could be discussed by Sylvie almost anywhere, it left a little sho her mind that it was actually at the dht before the garage. Spinning on her heels, Sylvie waved for both Casey and Kody to follow. “If we are going to be sensible and civil about what happened, I prefer that we do it away from the door and be a little more fortable in the living room.”
A short walk from the garage door was all it took for the three to make it to the living room. Wood fl from what looked to be recimed oak lihe floor and was lightly staio give the rge area a warm yet aesthetic feel to match both the house and the nd above. “Casey sweetheart, the wood on the floor? It came directly from the nd above us. Initially used whelers came through first with log s and then ter when smaller ial houses appeared.” She stomped lightly to create a solid echo. “See? Solid and this timber is over one hundred years old. Martin…” Sylvie offered a grim sorrowful frown to the others, “...he had his personal carpenters modify all of this so it both looked great and melded together.” Sylvie looked over at Kody. “Thank you for helping as well, Kody.”
“My pleasure.” Kody remarked and headed into the living room further.
Although the couple had just been in the living room, Casey hadn’t noticed the features due to the ongoing ce of the huge fire that was still spreading throughout ial Heights and into the surrounding areas. “Oh wow, Sylvie.” Casey purred as she looked over the rest of the room. “It’s a quarter-moon shape just like your eyes get. I love that you desig to encapsute the kit.”
Pulling her progeny into the main room about dead ter, Sylvie then slowly turned Casey to look at everything. “Doors at both ends, one leading out and one leading into that fantastic kit where I had you talking to me all proper.” Sylvie giggled and watched as Kody sat down in one of the two egg-white and brown swivel chairs. “Under all of the furniture to protect the wood, I have fairly durable blue and white Persian rugs.”
“You didn’t spare any expense on this pce, you have to be nearly broke.” Casey winked, “I’m kidding..however if you need..” It was Sylvie’s gentle finger on Casey’s lips that stopped her from talking. Casey gave the digit a kiss and then ed her arm with Sylvie’s.
After a little moan-sigh, Sylvie pulled back her finger and walked over to the curved sofa with the same color as the two swivel chairs had. “I am not broke, silly.” Sylvie escorted Casey to the long curved sofa, “The fabric is Adele and purchased through Bel ton. When you sit down it's like floating on a cloud or something.” Scooping her girlfriend into her arms, Sylvie took a few steps to the edge of the coud set Casey down like a treasured doll. “See?”
