Chapter 49

The party heads through the broken entrance and they head straight up a path. When they reached to the other side of the dungeon, the party finds themselves in a room that looks like a Chessboard. The board is wide and long enough as the same size of the Chessboard. Up ahead, Shokei sees another door on the other side of the room.

"This...this is quite different here." Shokei said.

"This checkered floor...this is more of a Chessboard from the looks of it." Toyama said.

"I have a grim feeling about this..." Mizuki said.

"Whatever this is, we need to get to the other side." Shokei said as she moves ahead. "Regardless of if it's a...UGH!!"

"Ahhhh!! I...I can't move!!!" Sadako said in a panic.

"W-what?!" Rei said, unable to move forward. "The h-hell is this?!"

"M-my body!! It feels stiff!!" Lei said, feeling her body not moving.

Before Shokei and her party could do anything to get across, all of them felt a strange telekinetic force trapping them. Next thing, the force lifts them off the ground while being stuck in pce.

"A-ha ha ha ha ha haaaa!!" A voice boomed in the area. "You all fell for it!"

The telekinetic force carried each party member onto the first horizontal row of the Chessboard. Each party member is pced on an assigned square that they stand on. From there, Shokei nds on her spot and she feels her body moving again. However, a force field blocks her as she is not able to escape.

"What is all this?!" Shokei asked, feeling the walls of the force field. "The hell is this about?!"

Just then, the party can see that there is a figure that made an appearance in the room. The figure wears elegant bck clothing and bck wings.

"Hey! W-who the hell is that?!" Toyama asked, pointing out to the figure.

"I knew it...it's one of the Necromutants..." Shokei said, identifying the figure.

"You knew well Emissary." Hazon calls out to her. "Better yet, I am highly pleased to see you made it this far into the Sacred Sanctuary."

"You bastard!!" Shokei shouted at him. "What do you want?!"

"I know that you are this close into retrieving the gem that lies behind this door." Hazon said, pointing at the door behind him. "However, I cannot allow you to go further."

Shokei hears him as she tightens her fist.

"In fact, we're going to have ourselves a little game to py." Hazon continued. "If you want that gem, you'll have to overcome this obstacle you and your allies stand on."

Suddenly, the party can feel a strange force surrounding them from the squares that they are standing. Then, they were cursed with a mark on their arm as the symbols represents a chess piece.

"Now then..." Hazon expined. "Let's get down to business, shall we? What you are all standing on is a Chessboard ptform. The squares that you stand on will make you move like the Chess piece for that relevant square. If you look carefully, the symbols on your arm can tell you what piece each of you represents."

Rei and Mizuki can see that their symbol indicates a Rook. Obsidian and Ferron are being represented as Knight pieces. Lei and Sadako are representing the bishops. Shokei can see that the square she stands on represents herself as the Queen and Toyama is the King chess piece.

"The chess piece that you are assigned will be based on the moves like an actual Chess game." Hazon expined further. "If you want to get across this py field, you will have to outwit and outpy against the opposing pieces on the other side of my board."

The party can see the opposing pieces appearing on the other side of the Chessboard. The pieces resemble like the actual Chess pieces, only that they are medieval pieces. Every piece was there except one, which is missing the King. Each piece is holding a weapon.

"You really think this is going to be simple?" Hazon continued. "You're wrong. And yes, just for your understanding, these pieces of mine are holding a weapon. I like to see any of you do whatever you can to withstand their weapon that they are holding. Should you survive and get across through me or my pieces, you're pying piece will disappear. But, if you defeat me, which I doubt you would, then you'll make all the pieces disappear and those cursed marks on your arms will vanish."

"Is that all?" Shokei asked him. "That's telling a lot."

"Absolutely." Hazon replied and bowed. "Thank you for listening."

"That was too much information for me to absorb." Rei said.

"With that, shall we begin Emissary?" Hazon asked.

"Fine then." Shokei replied. "I guess we don't have a choice."

"Be my guest." Hazon said. "Since you happen to be the leader, its best to say...dies first."

"I'm fine with that." Shokei said. She sees her party members and asks. "But...which one of us will make the first move?"

The party looks at each other as they are figuring out who will make the first move. Rei sees that she is representing the Rook. She decides to act, and she looks to see the opposing piece is straight ahead. The Rook appears to be a shadowy figure with a sword that is visible to her eyes. Then, Rei rushes forward to get to the other side of the room.

"Rei! Be careful." Shokei calls out to her.

As soon as Rei is about to pass the fourth square, she is being struck on the floor surface as lighting had stopped her in her tracks. She felt the electrocution as she cries out in pain and fell on the floor.

"Rei!! Rei!!!" Shokei shouted at her.

The party gasps as soon as they can saw Rei being hit by the lighting on the surface. Rei manages to survive as she breathes but she did not get up from her fall.

"Oh Almighty!" Shokei said and calls out to her. "Rei! Rei, are you ok?!"

"Uhhhhh..." Rei grunts as she lies on the floor.

Shokei sees her ally on the floor. Then, she looks directly at Hazon and got angry.

"You cold hearted bastard!!" Shokei shouted at the Necromutant. "What is this shit?!"

"Heh, heh, heh, heh." Hazon said with a ugh. "It seems that I forgot to mention a few twists in terms of this game of mines."

"You're going to pay for that you swine!!" Shokei calls out to him. "I ought to break that neck of yours with a decapitation!!"

"Anyways..." Hazon said, ignoring Shokei's insult. "I should keep all of you in mind that the squares around this floor will contain a trap. The traps are hazardous elements that will try to damage you if any of you set foot on a certain square."

Rei slowly gets up from the trap and she finally stands.

"These traps are random, and it will occur against you, depending on the Chess piece that you're represented." The Necromutant continued. "My advice is simple. Choose your spaces wisely enough or else you can risk losing your lives easily. Your ally here makes a fine example out of that."

"Rei..." Shokei calls out to her.

"I...I'm fine..." Rei said, trying to recover from the shock. "I'll be ok."

"Hearing this puts us in a serious disadvantage." Obsidian said. "Our chances might be slim for us to reach our goal."

"We cannot let our hopes down." Shokei said to her party. "And we cannot let him prevent us from going after that Sand Gem. I'm not running away from this nor will I ever forgive you for hurting Rei like that. I'll py this stupid game of yours to the very end and I'll be sure of that."

"Then come." Hazon said, gesturing her with a palm to bring it. "I love to crush you all in a game of Chess. And since your side has made a move, now it's my turn."

Hazon looks at his Knight piece on his left and snaps his fingers to control the Knight to move down. The Knight was moved to its rightful spot.

"I'm done." Hazon tells Shokei. "Back to you, Emissary."

Hey... a voice speaks into the mind of the Necromutant.

Huh? Hazon thinks in his head as if he was hearing things.

I'm right here where I can see you! The voice calls out to him again.

Hazon looks out to see his fellow ally Lei talking to him in his head.

How dare you? Bck Death speaks into Hazon's mind. How dare you put me into this? Are you nuts?

Easy there, Bck Death. Easy..., Hazon replies back into her mind. These traps won't come to you at all. It will be specially made for the Emissary and her allies. You got that?

All right...I believe in you. Bck Death responded. I mean, I am a Necromutant in disguise.

Just py along so that you don't become suspicious. Hazon tells her.

Don't worry. I will. Bck Death said back at him.

Lei, without anyone knowing her true nature, agrees and behaves natural while being part of the Chess trap. She pys along with the rest of the party to partake in the deadly game.

Shokei and her party are deciding who will be the next to make a move.

"What will it be Emissary?" Hazon asked.

"Ummm, I don't want to move from my spot. Being the King piece and all." Toyama said, not willing to move.

"Same here." Shokei said. "It would be too risky for me to put myself out there in case a trap awaits me."

"Hmmm..." Obsidian thinks for a minute and then decided. "I'll make my move next."

"Really?" Ferron asked. "And I was just about to make my move."

"That's not a problem." Obsidian said. "You can go ahead of me."

  "Sure." Ferron said.

Ferron made his move, being the Knight piece. He makes the L move formation by taking one step up and two steps to the left. He stands behind Shokei on his square. Luckily, no trap was activated against him.

"There." Ferron said. "My move became official."

Seeing Shokei's side has ended their turn, Hazon looks to see Shokei at his distance.

"Hmmph! Just try to bypass through me...," Hazon said. "But remember this! The further you work your way on this Chessboard, the more likely that the dangerous effects will become more powerful against any of you. Don't feel too sure that you won't be victimized with a trap just yet."

Hazon looks on his right and sees Rei already standing back in her position. He can see that she is four feet away from where the opposing Rook piece is waiting. Then, he looks back at his own pieces and made his Bishop right next to him move four steps diagonally until it reaches the destined square.

The process of the Chess trap kept in py as Shokei and her party are trying to make progress in making through the trap. Mizuki and Toyama did not budge from there spot as the rest of the party members did. Shokei, being the Queen, makes her move by walking diagonally up to three spaces. Hazon moves his Bishop three spaces down. Obsidian, being the Knight, moved two spaces up and one space right. The square that he was on activated a Fire reaction, swirling around him as he takes the damage by the heat.

Hazon made his move by allowing his Knight to move down more to the center of the Chessboard. Lei takes her first move as Bishop and walks three spaces northwest to the next square. As she and Hazon have privately discussed through thought transmission, Lei the Bck Death will not be harmed by the hazardous traps that he has provided against Shokei and her party.

Hazon was about to make his next move but thinks for a minute until he finally decides.

"Meh! This game's boring." Hazon said, yawning. "Time to spice things up as it is."

Just then, Hazon snaps his fingers and suddenly the squares that half of Shokei's party members is standing on caused them to be teleported to random square spots around the Chessboard. The mixup pces them in new locations to even out the score. However, Mizuki and Toyama are the only party members not to be moved to another location. Sadako's position did not make a move but became surprised to see Hazon right in front of her.

"And now, it's time to take one nuisance out." Hazon said evilly.

Hazon makes his move to charge towards Sadako with a demonic punch and hits her in the stomach.

  "Ahhhrrgh!!!"

Sadako feels the force of the punch, and this sends her all the way back to the room and off the Chessboard. Her body is smmed behind the wall and then she colpses on the ground unconscious.

"Sa-Sadako!!!" Shokei calls out to her.

The party gasped as they turn to see Sadako had been knocked out to the floor. Hazon grinned as he felt proud that he has managed to take out his first Chess Piece, which was Sadako representing the bishop.

"Are you kidding me?!" Shokei shouted at the Necromutant angrily. "What is this?! This is cheating!!"

"Ok. So, why do you care?" Hazon said in a calm, sadistic tone. "This is my Chess, just to be clear. I can py this game in anyway as long as my presence is here with this trap run by my own power."

"That was wrong!" Shokei said to him angrily. "Having to hurt one of my allies is highly unforgiving!!"

"Hey, I couldn't care less about you puny beings." Hazon said to Shokei. "Now, make your move or I'll be happy to take out another one of your allies."

Feeling angry, Shokei was unable to do anything as Sadako lies there, completely knocked out. Shokei looks to see that Mizuki and Toyama have not budge from their spot. Toyama looks at Mizuki. Mizuki did the same as they look to see that they're separated apart. She looks into the eyes of Toyama and then their upcoming move is about to happen.

  "Now!!" Toyama tells Mizuki.

Giving the call, Toyama and Mizuki made a crossover, executing the Castling move.

"Huh?!" Hazon became surprised and then said. "What was that?! C-Castling?!"

Mizuki and Toyama look at each other as their pn of crossover was a success.

"A Castling move...very nifty for such a move." Hazon said. "Whatever that was, it will still count as a move. My chances are never ending as soon as I crush all of you. Especially you, Emissary!"

"Actually, being the King makes me feel safer." Toyama said. "My move was legal enough to do the crossover against you."

"As the Rook, my duty is to protect the King." Mizuki said. "In this py, I swore to protect the King at all costs."

"Meh." Hazon said. "We'll see about that."

Hazon looks at his Knight piece and then he makes it move up to where Rei is standing nearby. The King figure makes its move by using its sword against Rei. Rei dodged the attack before the sword could hit her.

"Whew!" Rei said. "That was too close."

Shokei looks to see Hazon is controlling the pieces that are around him. She knows that to put an end to this trap, she needs to make a move into defeating the Necromutant, representing himself as the King. It was her side's turn and Shokei walks up to a few more spaces vertically and stops in her tracks to see Hazon a few feet away. The Necromutant can see Shokei at his distance.

What do you think you're doing? Hazon thought. I need to end the Emissary; I know what she is plotting!

Hazon commanded his Bishop piece to get next to her. The bishop holds a wand and as the piece is near her, the bishop strikes the spot to where Shokei stands on with electricity.

  "Ahhhh!!!"

Shokei cries out in pain as she feels the jolt striking her body. The electric force causes her body to be stunned and she takes a knee down on the floor.

"I knew what you were up to something, Emissary." Hazon calls out to her. "I would have ended your game on that spot since you were targeting after me so quickly."

"Grrrrrr...." Shokei growled in pain as she remained kneeling on the floor.

Hazon makes his turn. He then looks at his Rook and guides the piece all the way to the other side of the board. Toyama sees the Rook close to him and the piece makes a heavy swing with its mace. Toyama used his shield in time to parry against the attack.

"Give yourself up human!" Hazon calls out to Toyama. "Your fate will soon meet its end as I have you now in check!"

Toyama knows that being in check would mean that he must make his move to defend himself. Then, seeing the Rook next to him, Toyama attacks the Rook with his Long Sword. Within one hit, and using a sword technique, the Rook piece shatters. Mizuki sees Toyama destroying the Chess piece and then she notices that the Rook mark on her arm has vanished.

"W-what?!" Mizuki said, seeing her arm. "The cursed mark...its gone!"

"Hey, what's going on?!" Hazon asked, not amused to what he sees. "You cannot do that! You're breaking my rules! In this Chess game, you, as King is supposed to be in check! You cannot fight back any of my pieces!"

"I just thought of something." Toyama said to him. "Do your rules matter in your own game? You do realize that in an actual game of Chess, the King can take out a piece from the opposing side even if it's in check. You fail to realize that, and I was able to take the Rook out in my own hands."

  "Silence!!" Hazon yelled at him.

The Necromutant's response was to use magic on Toyama's spot, trapping him in an ice blizzard.

  "Arrgh!!"

Toyama takes damage by the blizzard, freezing ice. He struggles to recover, but the icy element was powerful enough to have him at a standstill to feel the coldness on his body.

"Say...wait a minute..." Mizuki said, thinking about something.

Hazon sends out another Knight piece. The Chess piece moves down to target another one of Shokei's party members. Ferron can see that the Knight is about to attack him, but he immediately acts by destroying the piece with his Gss bde. A quick cut was all he needed to do as the Knight piece has been destroyed completely. Ferron looks at his cursed tattooed mark to see that his resembnce as a Knight piece is no longer there.

"I knew it!" Mizuki said, seeing what needs to be done. "The only way we can free ourselves is by destroying the opposite piece that are targeting at us!" She turns to see Toyama, recovering from being hit by the blizzard attack. "Thanks, Toyama."

"Ehhhh, heh heh... no problem..." Toyama nodded, trying to get over the chilling effect.

"Impossible!!" Hazon said angrily. "There's no way that my own pieces are being destroyed by the likes of you scoundrels!"

Hazon then sends out the remaining pieces by pcing his st Knight, the Bishops, and the st Rook near Shokei's party members. Obsidian deals with his piece, being the Knight, and cshes his sword against the obstacle. Rei goes face to face with the Rook and Shokei is stuck with two Bishops using its magic against her.

Being free from the curse, Ferron and Mizuki helped out their party members. Ferron runs up to where Shokei is being trapped by the Bishops and he quickly takes them down with one strike of each piece, destroying both of them completely. Lei sees that the Bishops were taken care of and she looks to see that her cursed mark has been lifted. Sadako is still unconscious and is unaware that the cursed mark on her arm has vanished.

"Yes! I'm free from this stupid trap!" Lei said happily.

Obsidian faced off with the Knight attacking him with its sword. With a quick parry, Obsidian makes the opposing piece loses its bance and then he upper swings at the piece to give it one big ssh. By destroying the Knight in half, the mark on his arm vanishes.

"All right! I can finally move around again!" Obsidian said as he is gd to be free from the curse.

Rei is dealing with the Rook. The opposing piece swings its mace at her. Rei dodges the mace as it is being hurled against her. Seeing that the Rook is close to her square space, Rei goes under to grab the bottom piece and used all her strength to lift the piece. Then, Rei threw the piece in the air. Lei saw the Rook in the air, and she quickly used her psychic beam to destroy the Rook. The opposing piece has been shattered into pieces and then Rei can see that her curse has been lifted.

"Yes! I'm out of this damned curse!" Rei cheered and then turns to see Lei.

Lei sees Rei and nods as she has assisted her in destroying the Chess piece.

The party has been freed from the trap, with the exception of Shokei. However, the situation was not over as the party can see Hazon and the Queen Chess piece. Shokei still has the cursed mark of the Queen on her arm, but she is still recovering from the shocks that the bishop pieces have struck her. Mizuki heads over to check on Sadako to see if she was all right.

"How is she?" Shokei asked her.

"She's been knocked out once." Mizuki said, checking her pulse. "But her pulse is warm."

Mizuki takes out a potion and immediately made Sadako drinks the potion in her mouth.

"With a dose of this cure, it should get you up in no time." Mizuki said, giving her the medicine.

Hazon walks up to look at Shokei.

"This is ridiculous!" Hazon said. "My own trap...backfired against me..."

"Not everything was going to pn, huh?" Shokei asked him. "You may have toyed us with your pieces, but we were able to figure out a major fw within your trap."

"Hmmph! That doesn't matter anymore." Hazon said to her. "Besides, I still have one piece here left. This piece will be the grand finale of our little Chess game."

Hazon looks at his Queen piece and then used his power to change the form of the piece. The party sees that the Queen grows in size and then turned into its demonic form. The Queen's face has been turned into a skull and the body piece then changes into a skeleton sized skull demon. The monster carries a bone-like bde as its weapon, infused with darkness on the bde. The party looks up to see the skull's face of the Queen with its glowing eyes appearing on the inside.

"I believe I'll consider this game of Chess stalemate." Hazon said as he flies up in the air. "I doubt you'll survive out of this one, Emissary! Ta-ta!"

The Necromutant leaves the scene and the Queen piece, already turned into a skull monster, roars towards the party.

"Damn! That has to be one nasty Queen." Rei said, looking up at the monster.

Shokei turns and sees Mizuki returning back to the group.

"How is Sadako?" Shokei asked her. "Is she alright?"

"She will be fine." Mizuki tells her. "That medicine will recover her from being unconscious for a few minutes."

"Hopefully, she will wake up to see that we're in the middle of this fight." Shokei said. Then tells her party. "C'mon! Let's sy this menace!"

Shokei and her party all fought against the demonic Queen piece. The bone monster takes its first move as it swings its bone sword down against the party. Everyone jumps out of the way in time before they were hit with the bone-like sword. Once avoided, Rei makes her initial strike against the enemy's legs. She runs and spins around in a roundhouse combat kick to one of the bony knees and hits it with force. The force of her attack causes damage to the bone monster, but the surface was strong enough to withstand the kick.

Rei jumps back and this allows Obsidian and Ferron to team up against the bone monster's other leg as they csh against the bony structure of the leg. The enemy doesn't take much damage and it quickly fought back by leaping backwards and holds its weapon together to sm it downward. Obsidian and Ferron were te to defend themselves as they were sent back on the floor against the enemy's weapon.

The fight raged on as the party finds the demonic bone demon to be difficult to handle. The monster remains unstoppable as it was not affected by physical attacks.

"Dammit!" Shokei said. "This monster looks like it can't be defeated."

"There must be a way to stop this vile thing." Rei said. "But how?"

"The enemy must have made this monster tough enough for me." Lei said. "My telekinesis won't work against it."

"Hmm..." Mizuki thinks to herself until she has an idea. "I know that the undead does not like...hey, I know!"

Mizuki takes out her medicine that she brought with her. Using at least one of her items, she hurled a potion against the monster. The bone monster feels the liquid being rained down on its body as it is effective to take damage.

"Huh?" Shokei said and looks at Mizuki. "Say, are you throwing your medical potions against this monster?"

"Of course." Mizuki replied to Shokei and hurls another one against the enemy. "You should know that the undead dislikes holy powers."

"I...oh, I should've thought of that." Shokei said.

"But even if you keep throwing your healing items against this vile creature, then what will be in store for us to get cured if we're injured? Or get poisoned?" Lei asked her.

"No need to worry." Mizuki tells her. "I have enough medications on me, so you don't need to worry about anything."

"Ummmm...ok." Lei said, her eyes looking at another direction.

The bone monster feels the potions being thrown by Mizuki. The enemy stands there as it feels the weakness by the potions that are affecting its bony structure. The joints of the monster became stiff and Mizuki gives off her best effort to slow down the enemy, but the monster fights it to remain standing.

"This isn't good." Mizuki said. She stops throwing more potions against the enemy. "This monster is not going down without a fight."

"If its weak enough by the potions, we should defeat this monster right now." Shokei said.

"FLAMING VOLCANO!!" a voice shouts out loud in the room.

"What the?!" Lei said in confusion.

Out of nowhere, the party can hear someone casting out a spell and the magic attack was put into effect. The bone monster was dealt critically and gets caught in fmes. The potion liquids that covered the bones are now turned into fmes and are spreading quickly around the monster. The Skull-frenzy creature cries out a roar as the fmes covered the monster entirely. The party sees that the bones are quickly turning into ashes and then the bone monster goes down in existence. Once the monster is gone, the fmes subsided as it disappears on the spot. Shokei looks at her arm and sees that the Queen piece mark is gone.

"Woah...none of us never saw that coming." Toyama said, blinking his eyes.

"Wait a sec..." Shokei said and turns around.

The party turns to see that Sadako is standing there. She has recovered from unconscious and still breathes strong from the Necromutant's attack.

"Sadako!" Shokei calls out to her. She walks over to see her. "B-but I thought you were done for, right?"

"I'm...I'm good..." Sadako said, rubbing her head. "M-my body feels slightly sore...b-but I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?" Mizuki asked her. "I gave you some medicine for you to recover and I'll be willing enough to give you more if needed."

"No, that's ok." Sadako tells her. "N-no need to give me more medicine. I'm still alive but trying to recover slowly."

"It still amazes me that you survived that assault to what the enemy did to you a while ago." Shokei said.

"It must be luck that made you survive a punch like that from that Necromutant." Mizuki said to her. "You could have died."

"I know..." Sadako said. "I never thought I saw that coming. I guess that enemy came to me like I'm a threat."

"Maybe..." Rei said. "But it's a good feeling to know that you're still with us."

"Eh, thanks." Sadako said with a smile.

"Anyways, now that we got through this obstacle out of the way, we should continue further while we're at it." Shokei tells everyone.

  "Yes." Rei said. "Let's continue."

The party did as they leave the area. Once they made it through to the other side, Shokei and her party sees a door with an evocation symbol.

  "Another sealed door?" Toyama asked.

  "Not again." Obsidian said.

"Hold on!" Shokei said. "I think this might be a connection."

Shokei takes out the medallion in her pocket. She looks to see that her medallion is shining as its reacting to the door. There, the party sees the door is glowing around and then it disappears.

"Ok. Now we can go through." Shokei said.

The party continues onward as they pass through the door. Once everyone has went through, the entrance behind them is sealed.

"Oh no." Sadako said. "We're trapped!"

"Maybe...but I think this is different." Rei said.

Shokei and her party looks around the room that they are in. The area appears to be a big room that is nearly covered in darkness. The party walks around the room to explore the area. Then, the party can see a big statue figure, which turns out to be a Golem. The Golem is big in size with two big arms. The party looks at the Golem and sees that its body is made out of stone with a suit of armor.

"Goodness...look at that thing." Lei said.

"That's a buffed looking Golem." Rei said.

"Hmm, is this Golem dead or something?" Toyama asked. "I cannot tell if its ancient or not."

"I'm not so sure." Lei replied.

Shokei looks at the Golem statue. Then, she looks back on her medallion and she sees that the glowing energy indicates that the Sand Gem is found in this area.

"Shokei, what is it?"" Rei asked her.

"I have a feeling that the next gem is found here." Shokei tells her.

"You think this Golem, has it?" Rei asked.

"Probably." Shokei tells her. "And I bet that this thing is the one that possess that gem."

Suddenly, the eye of the Golem starts to shine from inside, giving a sign of life. A swirl of aura surrounds the Golem as it gains energy. The party looks to see that the Golem appears to be moving as it is stepping off from its spot. The Golem made a weird, growling noise as soon as it is brought to life.

"No way!" Toyama said, taking a step back. "This thing's alive!"

"So...the legends were true..." Mizuki said, recalling something in her thoughts.

  "What?" Shokei asked her.

"From that scroll I read to you, I have heard stories about this Golem." Mizuki tells Shokei.

"Y-you...you don't mean that this is the spiritual guardian you were talking about, right?" Shokei asked.

"Yes, it is." Mizuki replied. "This is Kototuri the Golem."

"Great...now you tell me." Shokei said as she looks back at her medallion. "This thing has directed me to the possession of the gem is. We must defeat that Golem that has the Gem within."

"Prepare yourself." Mizuki said to her. "It's coming our way."

Shokei and her party prepares themselves as they are about to fight the guardian of the Sacred Sanctuary.
