During that time, Shokei and Mariko are exploring the mansion, which is near the sewing factory. Shokei looks inside and sees that everything is different. In her past, the mansion was kept being clean and spotless. Right now, the pce looks haunted, being run down and dusty. Spider webs covered the corners and even on a bookshelf that is turned down. Most luxurious items from the mps to the furniture are all messy. The curtains are torn, and the windows are shattered. The pce looked like a complete mess.

  "Wow..." Mariko said in a low voice. "Look at this..."

  "Mariko." Shokei looks to see a staircase up ahead and said, "I am going to check upstairs to see if there is anything that I can find."

  "If you're heading up there, then I'll come with you." Mariko said.

  With a nod, the pair went upstairs. Once they reach to the second floor, Shokei turns to Mariko.

  "I'm going to look around the rooms on the left. You can search for your book on the right." Shokei tells her.

  "Got it." Mariko nodded.

  Both departed ways as they explore the rooms on their sides.

  Shokei enters to one of the rooms that is close to her. The room that she is in is the master bedroom. Shokei recalled the memory of the room, reflecting back on how it was for her. The cruel and painful mistress that she once worked for no longer has a fancy bedroom. The queen-sized bed has been broken down and looks ancient. The carpeting on the floor is ripped up and looks very dirty. Checking the room further, Shokei checks into the mistress's closet. Most of her clothes are still there, but half of the dresses look worn out. Shokei explores the drawers and sees that there are more clothes that are left behind. However, there were just two drawers that are filled with more clothing, folded neatly.

  From going through the master bedroom, Shokei continues exploring around the mansion. She walks down further into the hallway and approaches the next room, in which is a sver's training room. Entering inside, she looks to see that the room is small. The room had nothing but one closet and a five-stacked drawer.

  I remember this room...to be brought here and wear a maid's dress to work for that witch...

  Shokei shakes her head as her past creeps up to her. She pictured herself in a maid dress a long time ago. Opening her eyes, she sighed and continues to explore the room.

  Shokei walks over to the closet and checks inside. She can find a row of maid dresses hanging up in a straight line. Despite how dusty the closet looks, Shokei looks into one of the dress. She recalled the dark color of her maid dress that she used to wear. Her maid dress looks old and has a stain on it. Shokei recognized the stain as a mark to indicate on the cruel treatment she has received. There is also cut openings that are on the maid dress. Shokei closed her eyes and grips the dress tightly.

  Dammit...I can recall those bad times of getting whipped and physically tormented by those damned Svers...shit...hmm?

  Shokei opens her eyes and looks at her maid dress. She sees a note pnted inside the pocket. The note is folded, and she takes it out to look at it. Unfolding the note, Shokei reads the message:

  "...if you are reading this by now.... I can tell that I am having my final moments of life working in S..T...

  Shokei...Rei...wherever you two are, I won't make it. I won't be able to keep up with you two. Ever since the day that I helped the both of you to break out of this coup, Corvida got even worse. I was punished severely...beaten and bruised by the disastrous Svers due to helping you two escape. I was even punished the same way thanks to my ck of working habits. The day of seeing myself escape from this wrecked-up pce is going very dim as I write this.

  I know how much you two are living in another side of the world now. I hope that you are living in a better pce, whoever takes good care of you. For me, I am already at my wits end. My body is very weak. I...I feel emotionally fragile as these punishments are causing my body to be broken.

  I...I hope you read my message someday... if you find your way back here, either you or Rei...I hope this st message gets to you...Sorry...I...I'm already dead..."

  "Kumiko..."

  Shokei mentions the name of the person that wrote the message. After she finished reading the letter, she is saddened of the fate that happened to a sve mate from her past. She stands there, not making a move as she held on to the written paper.

  "She...she saved our lives..." Shokei said to herself, whispering. "I knew she would do it for us...but if...if only she could have come with us too..."

  Shokei shed a tear in her eye. More tears came as she finds her throat choking up. Shokei brought the paper to her heart as she felt deeply saddened, mourning the loss of her svemate when she used to be in the factory.

  "Kumiko..." Shokei said in a whisper. "I hope you're in a much better pce. I'm...I'm so sorry that we could not tag you along with us...there's no chance we'll ever..."

  "It has been a long-time sve..."

  Shokei gasped. Her thoughts were disrupted as she hears someone calling out to her in the room. She turned to see who it was and to her surprise, she became shocked to see an all too familiar figure standing at the door. There appears a sorceress in a white catsuit with a dark star detail on the upper chest. Her long boots match exquisitely with her outfit and her hair is wavy-curly with a dark-gold color. The sorceress is also equipped with fancy bracelets on her wrists.

  "Can't be!" Shokei said, with eyes widened, and is in fear. "C-Corvida?!"

  The sorceress looks at Shokei. She looks carefully and sees a familiar face. Corvida smiled with an evil grin as she is pleased to recognize someone that was formerly a sve to her factory.

  "My, My, My..." Corvida said in a delightful tone. "Never thought I would see the day, a former sve of mine has returned..."

  Shokei looks to see Corvida dead in her eyes. She could only breathe as she can see the cruel mistress walking inside the room. Corvida still has her grin on the face as she ughed a little.

  "I...I thought you were dead." Shokei said to her.

  "Heheh. You thought wrong, pet." Corvida shakes her head. "I am still here in one piece."

  "I don't believe it." Shokei shakes her head. "You're not real. There's no way in hell you're still around."

  "For your information, I sensed visitors trespassing inside my mansion." Corvida said to her. "Young one, or was it...Shokei, if I am right, it has been years since I've st seen you. You and that other person managed to escape out of my factory."

  "W-we sure did..." Shokei said, through her breath as she feels nervous to see the mistress.

  "You do know what happens to those that would try to break out of my factory, right?" Corvida asked her. Her tone sounded serious. "Don't you realize that I would have destroyed you, had you been caught? My Svers were trying to find you and we assumed that you died. It's amazing that you are alive, and I'm not quite sure how you did it."

  "We did..." Shokei said to her. "Rei and I did find our way...and here I am."

  "Hmmph." Corvida expressed with a disappointing look. "Even if you mature, I can still break you. Perhaps, not what I used to do years ago, but...I have my other methods simply for you."

  Corvida moves forward as she approaches Shokei. Seeing the cruel mistress walking towards her, Shokei backs away from her. Her nervous looks get to her as she does not want to be close to the mistress she once worked for. Corvida noticed that Shokei is equipped with a sword. However, Shokei is not using her weapon to protect herself and she sees her backing up against the wall.

  "Stay away from me...or I will kill you!" Shokei warned her.

  Corvida ignored the threat as she smirked. She did not think that her former sve was that serious.

  Shokei quickly attempts to unsheathe her sword. Corvida used the power of her telekinesis and prevents Shokei from the attack against her. Shokei feels the pain and pressure of the telekinetic powers that are being used against her body. Her body feels paralyzed, and she tries to fight the effect of the psychic powers, but to no effort. Shokei grunts in agony as she finds the force of the psychic effect hard for her to breathe.

  "At this rate, resistance is worthless." Corvida tells her, trapping Shokei in her pce. "Just a little more pressure and you'll succumb to your knees."

  Shokei cannot do anything in this situation. She was hoping that Mariko would come over to save her, but she could not speak or scream for her voice to be heard. Shokei slowly feels her eyes closing as she was fading out fast. Then, she could no longer fight the telekinesis as the force worked against her motions. Seeing that Shokei is going unconscious, Corvida stops using her powers to let her victim fall to the ground.

  Once fallen, Corvida walks over to see Shokei. She checks her pulse to be sure that she has fallen unconscious. The cause and effect of her telekinesis has done its work against her victim. The sorceress smiled as she is pleased to see her former sve has been knocked out.
