Chapter 3

The journey sped up after two unusual wild hounds attacked, as if everyone were fleeing from something. However, when they saw the buildings of their vilge, everyone rexed, with some discreetly mocking or even reprimanding his father for a false arm and accused him of cowardice.

Wang Yun still felt strange about having parents in this world. His previous parents had been taken away so soon that he had forgotten how to behave as a child toward their new parents. Especially with the memories of the dean, he felt like a grown man trapped in a child's body.

  Which, it was.

He was grateful that memories of Wang Yun remained, which at least alleviated some of the awkwardness.

However, from his conclusions, even if he didn't have the memories from his infancy, despite being their adoptive parents, he knew he couldn't possibly be biologically reted to them. Especially if this body was the baby he saw on the Kryptonian ship. But deep down, Wang Yun would always consider them his parents.

A modest yet calming vilge came into view. Rows and rows of houses could be seen, and although it was initially called a small vilge, it had gradually grown to have nearly a thousand households.

There were no walls around the vilge, not even palisade ones. This area of the forest was retively peaceful, which made the attack by wild hounds quite unusual.

Their appearance attracted the attention of the vilgers, and soon a small crowd gathered at the entrance to welcome them.

Several people in particur were looking for faces inside the wagon.

Wang Yun saw three familiar faces among them: one middle-aged and two quite young.

When they got close enough, one of the guards from their group called out, "Haha, old Yang! Heaven has finally shined on your family!'

One of the elderly men in the welcoming crowd had a stunned expression for a moment before bursting into joy. 'You mean...?'

'That's right! The Jade Mountain Sect has accepted your son as a disciple!' The man's voice boomed, allowing the crowd and nearby people to hear him.

"Heaven has finally blessed my family!" The old man and the people next to him excimed joyfully as he knelt and thanked the heavens.

People around them immediately congratuted the family.

"Old Yang, I knew Little Yu had what it takes!"

"Madam Yang! Congratutions on your child!"

Another guard spoke out too, this time looking at the single woman in the crowd searching for her own son.

"Madam Liu, your son has also been accepted!"

Another burst of joyful excmations sounded as two children from the vilge were accepted into the sect.

This was a greater celebration than a son being accepted to a top university.

Meanwhile, those who hadn't been accepted could only walk away and avoid the others. Wang Yun and his parents were included.

"Father, mother! Brother!" A small girl, about 8 years old, welcomed them with smiles as she lunged at Wang Yun and hugged him.

"Hey, Wang Xiaosi..." Wang Yun said awkwardly, patting his sister's back. "And uncle..."

"Hey, didn't get accepted, huh? That's fine! No problem!" A middle-aged man who resembled Wang Yun's father said, comforting them and patting Wang Yun on the shoulders. On his arms was a boy about 5 years old.

  "Hey, Wang Cai."

"Big brother! Did you pass?" The kid asked innocently.

Before Wang Yun could answer, his mother chimed in, "Come on, let's get some rest and food first, alright?" Wang Lee took his son, Wang Cai, into his arms.

"Come on, Little Wang, eat up! So you can be strong!" Uncle Yushen said, pcing piles of food in front of him. Wang Yun smiled wryly at his uncle's attempt to comfort him.

Wang Yun felt awkward about the whole ordeal, as what had happened at the sect examination felt like a long time ago so he didn't feel dejected or anything. At the same time, a warm feeling rose inside him, feeling such care from his uncle.

He puffed out his chest, imitating a kid as best he could, "Don't worry, uncle! I'm different. I don't need to be in a sect to become strong!" He patted his chest and decred.

It was true. Honestly, these past few days had made him reach a level of strength probably not far short of his father's strength! And his father was a rank 3 martial artist! In the vilge, there were only 5 rank 3 martial artists!

Of course, that was still a rough estimate. He still needed to confirm how much his physical abilities had truly changed, and he knew just the right pce in the vilge.

Of course, to his uncle's eyes, it only looked adorable. 'Ha ha, I know you will, Little Wang. You're strong!'

"You'll kill him with that much food! He can't finish that much!" came the voice of his mother. Though she said so, her face wore a smile.

Xiaosi was with her, carrying a pottle of homebrewed drink. 'Brother! Does that mean you could drink now?'

"Haha, he's still too young!" Uncle answered.

His mother and Little Xiaosi helped set the table better. They were currently inside the tavern they owned, closed for the day for Wang Yun's sake.

Soon, the doors to outside opened, and his father, Wang Li, and his little brother Wang Cai entered.

"Old Lu's special sauce," his father said with a smile, pcing a small bottle on the table.

"Brother Yun! I practiced 12 times with the sword today! You should see me tomorrow!" Little Cai procimed, very proud of his accomplishment.

Wang Yun grinned at the little kid, ruffling his hair.

"Of course, buddy. We'll practice hard tomorrow!"

Soon, daylight disappeared as night consumed the nd. Meanwhile, although it wasn't explicitly stated, a small feast took pce at the Wang family's home, supposedly to comfort Wang Yun's spirits, even though his spirits were actually just fine.

As he ate and ughed around the table, Wang Yun couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth.

  Family.

The word was now etched in his mind again after a long time.

Deep into the night, a figure sneaked out of the two-story building. Wang Yun easily nded on the ground, despite jumping from a height of two stories.

By now, he had realized that the reason he didn't feel any different in strength was solely due to his mind. Simply put, he subconsciously limited his strength. However, his true strength would always be there naturally, even if he had fallen asleep and fallen ten meters high in the air, nothing would happen to him.

He found this state convenient. Otherwise, with his rapid and ever-increasing strength, he would have to adjust his movements daily.

He looked at his surroundings. Torches lit the vilge, and from a distance, he could see figures patrolling and guarding it. It was so te at night that even the celebrating Yang and Liu families had fallen asleep.

He silently headed toward a certain direction. Most of the vilge houses were made of stone and wood, with very few being completely stone. The one he was heading toward was the rgest building in the vilge.

He reached the location quickly. In front of him stood a rge building with the words 'Martial Hall' as its name.

He went to the side, jumped toward one of the windows, and held on as he peered inside. It was dark, but his eyes had become accustomed to the darkness, so he could still make out things. He saw that nobody was around. He hauled himself inside and nded on the ground.

He sighed in relief at easily entering. 'I guess even the hall trainers joined the celebration of the Yang and Liu families, so they immediately called it a night. Or maybe nobody really expects someone to sneak inside here at night. I mean, what can you really steal? Some training equipment that everyone is free to access?'

The hall was filled with tools and equipment necessary to train the body. He walked toward one of the sections of the hall where rge and heavy blocks of stone could be seen.

He pondered for a moment before choosing the rgest one.

He saw a number etched on it: [3T3], meaning it weighed 3 tons and only rank 3 martial artists could carry it.

Seeing it, he opened his status panel...

  K'el

  Race: Kryptonian

  Css: 0

  Physique: 23

  Abilities: None

His physique had increased from 1 to 23 in just 4 days. Now it was time to see just how significantly his physique had changed.

He took a deep breath and walked toward the rge block of stone. Putting the strap on his shoulders slowly, he took another breath, prepared his mind, and immediately stood up.

  “!”

Shock filled his face, not because it was heavy or anything, but because it was light! A three-ton weight was light! A weight only a rank 3 martial artist could lift!

Maybe the weight was a mistake, he thought. He stepped forward, but each step was a loud thud on the floor. Soon, he heard a door opening as he hurriedly put the weight down and hid behind it.

A light fshed the area for a brief moment, and after he heard a grumble, the light disappeared.

Wang Yun sighed in relief. At the same time, he couldn't help but look at his hands. In 4 days since he had woken up in this world, his physique had already surpassed that of a rank 3 martial artist.
