Gio was resting in his new bedroom, the room was nearly untouched since Peter and Evelyn st used it.
It was a bright room, with a beige flowery pattern on the walls, and soft beige wooly carpets across the small bedroom, there was numerous pictures pced around the room, many of which were of Peter and Evelyn during happier times, none of them had their sons in them, just the two of them.
Gio and Isobel never understood why they didn't have photos of Damon and Damian hung up on their walls, well they could at least change that now that, they have the house the house now.
There was even a few photos of them with other people in the family, the first was of them with a younger Celosia by one of the cliffs of Fmel, another was in the city, outside of a resturant with Louisa and Basaran.
Basaran was a tall man, he was the tallest out of the four in the image, and he looked uncomfortable to be in the photo. He wore a dark sweater to cover the bulk of his body, with dark jeans, he had short brown hair, his eyes were hazel too as he stood behind Louisa in the photo, the scars across his face were there.
The third image was of Peter, Gio, Basaran and their younger brother Asher back when the four were kids and on summer vacation. Peter must have kept the photo as a memento to remember the good times he had with his brothers before Asher and Basa's disappearance.
Asher had long blonde hair and he smiled with Basaran and Peter in the photos, with Basaran trying his best to come up with the silliest looking grin possible, and Peter joining him.
Only Gio was the only one in the photo that wasn't smiling, he stood away from his three brothers, not looking interested in the photo that they were taking.
Now, he was the only one left out of the four.
Seeing that photo everytime he woke up in this room, pissed him off. It made him want to forget, in fact, the first thing that he wanted to do was take down the photos that reminded him of his brothers, but Isobel insisted that they stay up.
He didn't understand why she insisted, but she liked seeing her husband miserable whenever she can. It was one of the only satisfying things that she found in their marriage, seeing her husband miserable and if it meant him being reminded of his missing or dead brothers then she wanted those photos to stay up despite his protests.
Isobel, her sharp nails cmped around one of Celosia's arm, knocked fiercely on the door to the bedroom. "Gio, wake up, GIO!" She shouted, as Celosia pushed herself away from her mother before her nails dug deep enough in her sleeve that it would break the skin and cause Celosia to bleed.
Or reopen a healing scar or wound.
"Stop freaking the fuck out already, I got a letter to a school, that's it! Your acting like it's a letter of me doing something heinous!" Celosia held out the letter as the two women stood outside the door, waiting for Gio to wake up and open the door.
"Besant isn't the school your supposed to be going too, you're supposed to be going to Conway's like everyone else! And besides." Isobel would scoff as she turned towards the door. She could hear her husband getting up from the bed, she wondered if he was going through a withdrawal.
"You wouldn't st in a school like Besant anyway, it seems to be a private academy, whoever sent that letter obviously made a mistake." Isobel argued, Celosia responded with a shrug.
"Yeah, because I was the unpnned daughter that you never wanted." Celosia said sarcastically to get under her mother's skin, Isobel turned, her face meancing as she looked at her daughter, looking as though she was going to viciously wrap her hand around her neck.
When Gio finally unlocked and opened the door, looking as rugged as ever as he looked at his wife and daughter. He slowly rubbed his ragged, redded eyes, looking confused. "What is it now Isobel, just ground her if she's pissing you off." Gio yawned.
"Celosia has something to show you, something that she shouldn't have." Isobel badgered to Gio, Celosia sighed and showed off the letter to Gio, who, didn't have as explosive of a reaction as his wife did.
"It's an admission letter to Conway's right?" He turned back to Isobel, not even noticing how different the letter looked compared to the Conway's welcome letter.
"No, It's for Besant! Whoever sent this to her wants her to attend that school then Conways like everyone else in this house." Isobel argued, Gio again, didn't seem too bothered by this, and like Celosia didn't see what was so concerning for Isobel to react so, negatively about Celosia's admission to the school.
"So?" Gio responded.
"She's attending a school Isobel at least, shouldn't we be happy to have gotten her into one without any problems?" Gio was getting annoyed, he didn't really care that his daughter got into a school that wasn't Conway's, as long as Celosia wasn't causing trouble like back in Agatho, he didn't care what she was doing.
"Yeah but she didn't even get in, there's no way Celosia is good enough for this school!" Isobel yelled, causing Celosia to gre at her.
"Excuse me!?" Celosia shot a scowl towards her mother.
"Just because I got expelled at my st school doesn't mean I'll fail this one too." Celosia defended her admission, something of which her mother doubts.
"Well I don't think so, I think it's better if you let the---As Isobel tried to act condescending towards her daughter, she spped her mother's hand away when she lowered it towards her, causing Isobel to let out a light gasp, even the barely lucid Gio was surprised at Celosia's sudden action.
"I can do well at this school, and the fact that you think I'm destined to fuck up another part of my life, is giving me motivation to put effort into doing well at this pce." Celosia didn't know why she had gotten this admission letter to Besant, there was clearly a reason too, and if whoever was running this school wanted her to attend, then so be it, she lowered the letter and began walking away from her parents.
"Well." Isobel huffed.
"The moment you mess up at that school, we're pulling you out and putting you straight into Conways." Isobel warned, but Celosia ignored her mother as she approached the stairs to the top floor of the house.
"Do you hear me!?" Isobel shouted in a threatening manner.
Celosia responded by flipping the bird at her mother, and ran upstairs before she could see her reaction.
A day before the school break ended and her first day at Besant begins, Celosia had gotten the school's uniform in the mail from a red box containing them.
Celosia was surprised, as she never wore a school uniform before, but seeing as how Besant was a private academy and those pces often had uniforms, it did make sense that she would be issued one.
She was more surprised when she tried the uniform on, as they looked, unique, compared to uniforms she had seen in other academys.
The uniform was red and was basically a dress, Celosia thought that she would be given a skirt or bzer instead, with it being a darker shade of red around the skirt and colr areas. The sleeves were long enough to reach her hands, which is good for Celosia as nobody would see her arms, there was long bck leggings and small bck shoes for her to wear and an optional bck french beret to put on her head.
When looking in the mirror, Celosia liked the uniform, but, it looked like she was a soldier going out for war then someone going to a new school, she did like the beret however and was going to wear it around Besant. The uniform also managed to fit her, she thought she was going to need parts of it widened but it fit her, It was like the school administration already knew her size despite not meeting her yet.
Isobel and the rest of the family demanded that they see her in her new uniform when it arrived, but she refused, knowing that they would make judgemental remarks about the uniform and criticize Celosia's weight and size.
Isobel and Celosia's sisters often make remarks like that, while Gio one time ripped a coat that Celosia bought when he thought that the size didn't fit her and that she bought a "stupid jacket" for nothing. The size of that jacket did fit Celosia, she just didn't put it on properly when she showed it off to him, that was also the st time Celosia showed any other clothing to her family after Gio's aggressive dispy that day.
After getting ready and brushing her teeth, Celosia walked down into the kitchen for breakfast, as expected, everyone was eating a slice of bacon, but none was saved for Celosia, so she decided to get toast instead and make her own lunch, Isobel and Gio were not there, Gio was likely still asleep, he did have a handful of pills st night when Celosia st saw him, so it would take awhile for him to get up.
Since this was the first time they seen Celosia in her new uniform, Celosia was met by gres by Addison, Lily, Willow, Damon and Damian by the kitchen table and as she was busy preparing her lunch, she began hearing the five whisper amongst themselves.
"She's really showing off in that dress, it's like she's trying to attract a rapist or a trafficker." Damon ridiculed with a smirk.
"Knowing Celosia, she often wears clothes that sluts tend to wear, I'm surprised it's not showing off her midriff." Addison supported Damon in ridiculing her sister.
"She always does wear disgusting clothes." Lily agreed, Celosia would suddenly turn towards the five as she finished making her lunch.
"I can hear you cunts you know." Celosia called out, which got their attention.
"If you wish to say it outloud, then I dare you to do so." Celosia warned the five, waiting for them to respond. Her sisters were too worried to do so after seeing her hold a knife to make her lunch with, while Damon and Damian were about to say something, when Isobel entered the kitchen.
"Celosia." Isobel chastised her daughter's warning. She didn't know what her daughters were fighting about but Celosia likely caused it.
As Isobel looked at Celosia's uniform for the first time, Celosia could tell what her mother was feeling: disgust.
"Is that school really giving you clothes that make you look like a tramp?" Isobel questioned Celosia, but her attitude felt like she was interrogating Celosia instead.
"Yeah well, it's the uniform for the female students of Besant, and I like it, I think it looks cool." Celosia showed off the uniform, coming to it's defense.
"Well I don't." Isobel began criticising the uniform now that she's seeing it for the first time.
"And if I don't like it then you shouldn't either Celosia, I hate red too, it's such an ugly colour." Isobel continued looking over at the uniform to find other "faults" with it.
"This dress is fine, your just a cynic bitch." Celosia cursed before grabbing her lunch and satchel, she stormed towards the front door of the house. Offended, Isobel began following her daughter out of the door.
"Celosia, you apologise right now as well as for that horrible gesture you did on the day you got that letter." Isobel demanded, but Celosia reached for the door and opened it.
But she was faced with two women who were about to ring the doorbell when they saw Celosia. They smiled, the first women wore a darkened suit with bck heels, her hair was a dark brown, darker then Celosia's and was bob shaped, both women had white skins.
The other woman had short dark hair and wore a white shirt that went up to her colrbone, she wore a purple short skirt with white shoes. "Hi, is your Mom home?" The woman mockingly smiled to Celosia, It was the same kind of condescending smile Isobel dispys when talking down to her, which caused her to be put off by the two instantly as she felt as though that they had personailtys simir to her mothers, seeing as how they want to see her.
"We're just here to have a morning conversation with her, like good neighbours." The woman in the suit, was busy checking her phone, and didn't even give eye contact to Celosia.
"Celosia!" Isobel continued calling out from behind Celosia.
"She's just coming, in one of her bad moods." Celosia and the two women turned towards Isobel as she reached them, and soon noticed the women behind Celosia, when she did, her anger instantly faded.
"Ah Pame, Nora, good morning." Isobel stopped in pce a few feet away from Celosia, Pame Smith, the woman in the suit, and Nora Watson, the woman wearing the shirt that reached her colrbone, smiled upon seeing Isobel.
"Good morning, Isobel, how are you?" Pame asked cheerfully, she was now looking directly to Isobel while Nora waved to her in a tired looking manner.
"Oh, nothing much." Isobel smiled, but when she looked at Celosia again, her anger simmered out a little.
"Just having a fight with my daughter here." Isobel reached and grabbed for Celosia again to pull her away from the door, but Celosia didn't budge, she wanted to leave and go to school.
"Let go of me." Celosia slowly moved away from her mother.
Isobel didn't like that, she looked down, and noticed that her pocket watch was slowly sliding out from her pocket, it gave Isobel an idea, she fidgeted slightly a few times on purpose, enough for the watch to slide out of her pocket. "Mom, your watch!" Celosia yelled, but it was too te.
The pocket watch fell onto the green carpet, where the slight sound of broken gss was heard inside of it.
Isobel, Nora and Pame gasped, with Isobel kneeling down to open the watch to check on it, Isobel's hand moved to her mouth in a melodramatic way.
The gss that protected the small clock wheels of the pocket watch was broken, Celosia approached her mother, for once looking sympathetic to her.
"Shit, Mom, how bad is it?" Celosia moved closer to see how damaged the pocket watch was, and saw the broken gss.
"It's just the gss, you can easily get it repced---REPLACED!?" Isobel snapped and turned towards Celosia, but the girl can tell that Isobel was over reacting and that shout was fake somewhat, just to create a scene in front of her new friends to show to them how bad of a daughter Celosia was.
"You should be more careful, then it wouldn't have broke in the first pce!" Isobel seethed at her daughter.
"Careful? I was careful! I just pushed myself away from you instead of pushing you, the watch wouldn't have fallen onto the floor if you didn't nudge yourself just now." Celosia defended herself, having seen the way Isobel fidgeted before the watch fell out of her pocket.
"Your so, cruel sometimes Celosia." Isobel seethed through her teeth.
"No, your the one that's cruel with the shit that your doing now." Celosia snapped back to her mother before turning towards the front door again.
"Fuck this, I'm going to be te for school at this point." Celosia marched towards the door, wanting away from this house as soon as possible so she can focus more on her first day of school then being dragged into Isobel causing a scene involving that pocket watch.
"Excuse me." Celosia tried to at least remain polite to her mother's new friends and asked to let her through the door.
"No." Nora scowled at Celosia.
"Not until you apologise to your mother for breaking that watch young dy!" Pame demanded as she pointed back towards the saddened Isobel, as she tried her best to pick up the broken pieces of the watch without cutting herself.
"Yeah, no." Celosia snapped back at Pame, now no longer holding back and seeing as how the two were blocking her path to school, Celosia shoved her way through the women and stomped out of the house.
Grandpa, whoever he was, must be rolling in his grave knowing that his watch is being handled by his worst child, Celosia thought as she began walking up the hill towards Besant Academy. Pame and Nora would look on, offended by what Celosia did to them just now.
With she left however, Nora and Pame looked sympathetically towards Isobel and entered the house to comfort her.
Isobel grinned slightly as the two women approached, happy that they were showing her sympathy, breaking the watch did work after all.
