Haruo quickly made his way out of school before Celosia could once again talk to him, she sighed at her failure to talk to Haruo, well, there was always tomorrow, she thought as she walked out of Besant at the end of her first day, her satchel around her once more and the glowing sun slowly resting for the day, which covered the area in a warm orange glow.
"Hey Celosia." Sota called out, being happy to see her again as he walked out of the front door and approached Celosia, who turned and smiled.
"You heading home too Sota?" She asked.
"Yeah, the culinary club doesn't restart until tomorrow, we can walk home together if you want." Sota offered.
"Yeah sure, It beats walking home alone." Like she often did in Gyges when Reiki was too busy, Celosia thought, the two would soon walk together out of the school grounds.
Unknown to them, they were being watched by Mary, Mary-Anne and Dillion at the side of the school, staring at the two in judgement.
"Looks like the new bitch is already fitting in with the wrong crowd." Mary snorted.
"She'll probably become their wipping girl or something." Mary-Anne mocked Celosia.
"Do, we have a problem here you three?" Vio asked, approaching from behind the three, the students talking nearby suddenly fell into silence and looked over towards the four, but Mary wasn't scared compared to Mary-Anne and Dillion. Vio kept her smile, and Mary hated her for it, that smile, was fake, and she, Mary-Anne and Dillion knew it.
"No." Mary chided, but she didn't want to engage with Vio unlike with other people she beats up.
"We, shouldn't." Mary-Anne whispered sternly to her sister beside, but Mary just shoved her sister back.
"I know that, we would defintely cause a scene and get detention tomorrow." Mary shed out to her twin sister, not that she cared about getting dentention.
"What are you three doing?"
That was when Mary, Mary-Anne and Dillion would hear someone from behind them, Mary quickly knew who it was when she turned towards the girl.
It was Vio, who was on her home to the Moulder's Mill to have dinner with her parents.
"Is it anything to concern me?" Vio questioned to the three, her voice was emotionless, as if she wasn't concerned at all if the three were pnning to do something rash against her.
"No, so stop fucking bugging us and leave Vio." Mary said, her voice coming out as a threat.
"Uh, Mary." Mary-Anne tugged on Mary's sleeve.
"What!?" She turned towards Mary-Anne, shouting at her. Mary-Anne and Dillion pointed to behind her as Mary turned towards the outside of the school.
The students outside of the Academy were quiet, they had stopped talking to their friends and instead, were looking at Mary, Mary-Anne, Dillion and Vio, the tter of whom walked past the three.
"I'm gd that it has nothing to do with me." Vio said with approval.
"I, and the people around us, would hate to see something bad happen to me, don't you three agree?" Vio looked over towards Mary, Mary-Anne and Dillion again, she was now standing at the small steps of Besant, looking over at the three.
"Uh, yeah Vio, we're not doing anything against you." Dillion quickly said, which got a gre from Mary.
"Honest." He fretted.
"Yeah, we were just talking amongst ourselves." Mary-Anne quavered, Mary meanwhile didn't say anything, instead she just gred at Vio.
There was, something wrong with her, Vio was able to get someone like Haruo wrapped around her finger, along with the rest of the students of this school with whatever powers or magic that she had.
She didn't know what Vio was, but Mary knew something was wrong with her and she knew if she, Mary-Anne and Dillion made one slight against her, something terrible would happen to the three.
"That's good." Vio would smile, the students around the four soon resumed talking to their friends or leaving the school grounds.
Vio would turn and walk away, Mary-Anne and Dillion sighed in relief, while Mary scoffed and looked away.
She's already dealing with enough things on her pte right now thanks to Contact, she didn't want Vio involved in anyway.
Maria meanwhile watched as students began to leave by a window In Seiji's office above the front of the school's main building.
"Seiji, You should be happy to know that Celosia's first day here went well." Maria turned towards the darkness, in which Seiji resided in. He didn't want the students to look at him, so he often kept in the darkness, the only people that had seen him in person were Maria and Principal Todd, but the tter was currently away on business.
"That's... Good." Seiji said slowly.
"I knew you would be right about her and I'm gd we now have another student that has joined us." More so a human, Seiji thought. He thought it could mean the start of something if a human like Celosia had joined Besant so easily and without any problems.
"I must admit... Maria." Seiji would confess.
"When I was handed Celosia's records this morning... I grew concerned upon learning that she was expelled at the previous school that she attended." Seiji said.
"We all have bleak parts in our life that we don't want to talk about." Maria kept the smile on her face as she continued looking out the rge window of Seiji's office.
"She'll do well here, I can assure you." Maria sniffed a little.
"I might be too trusting with Celosia already, but if the first day is any indication, she hasn't gotten into trouble yet." Maria turned back over to Seiji, her smile still on her face.
"And I know for a fact that will continue." She assured Seiji.
Celosia and Sota continued walking home, as they got closer towards the row of houses near the bottom of the hill, and towards Peter and Evelyn's house, the two would begin to talk.
"So, your still at your uncle and aunts pce?" Sota asked, Celosia ughed.
"My parents would rather die then actually find a pce to live here." Celosia answered.
"The prospect of working on the council and to use my uncle and aunts house while the tter is in a coma was good enough for my dad." Celosia's face grew into a frown.
"And, your mom?" Sota said with slight pause.
"For her, it was to stay in the same house as her favourite nephews." Celosia sighed.
"What's your house like?" Celosia asked a simir question to Sota.
"It must be rge if your family's rge." Celosia would point out.
"Yeah, we're a rge family, but the house we found is actually suitable for all of us." Sota beamed.
"We thought we would never find something like it here, especially since we often move around a lot." Sota continued.
"I'm guessing, the previous houses you moved into weren't exactly made for a rge family like yours huh?" Celosia questioned, as she and Sota stopped at the middle of the hill and just at the entrance of the Neighbourhood District.
Sota was about to answer.
When he noticed something coming from the forest below the hill.
Something that was moving through the trees, before heading further into the darkness of the woods, it was entirely bck, and dripping with stench and gunk. Sota recongised what it was, Celosia, who hasn't seen the creature, noticed Sota was looking at the forest with concern.
"What's wrong? Do you see something in the woods?" Celosia turned towards the forest, but she saw nothing, since the creature was already gone. Sota however, knew it was now and never, he began tp charge forward towards the hill, surprising Celosia.
"I have to go." Sota sounded urgent.
"What? What do you need to do in there when theres something dangerous in this forest!?" Celosia called out to him, but Sota frantically turned towards her.
"It's nothing, just, don't follow me and head home!" Sota yelled as he slid down into the forest entrance and brushed past the trees to head further as Celosia watched him leave.
Celosia was confused as to why Sota would run off like that and into the forest, considering that there was a supposed bear somewhere in the forest that had already killed three people, he was wrecklessly putting himself in danger.
She knew by now that Sota was supernatural, but Celosia didn't know what exactly he is, he still might not be strong enough to fight it.
Celosia wouldn't be strong enough either if she just went in after him. But she didn't want to fight whatever was in the forest, she wanted to make sure Sota was safe and got out of the forest alive, with whatever he was pnning to do.
Celosia turned both ways, there was a figure in the distance in a coat, who didn't seem to notice Celosia, but besides him, nobody was around to watch Celosia go into the forest after Sota.
Celosia brushed past the trees as she slid into the forest. She didn't charge into it compared to Sota, who Celosia had already noticed tore a bit of his white school shirt, as she saw a bit hanging from a tree when entering the forest.
When she moved past the trees, Celosia was now in the inside of the forest, her legs already feeling the rustling of leaves that had dropped so early into the cold season. Celosia took out her phone and switched it's fshlight to begin looking around.
The trees were rger then they were on the outside of the forest, they were rge enough for the frailing branches to cover the setting sky. It was like everything had turned dark as Celosia had entered the forest.
"Sota!?" Celosia called out, but there was no response, Celosia knew that he couldn't have gone far, she walked further into the forest, keeping a lookout for both Sota, and, whatever was in the forest. She and Sota didn't want to be the next two people killed by the thing in the woods, not that her family would care, Sota's family however would care for him if he was killedc
"Sota, where are you!?" Celosia would call out.
And that was when she heard additional footsteps other then hers, she turned behind her but nobody was there.
They sounded like boots.
"Celosia!?" Sota would burst out from behind two thin trees, sounding like he was running from something, as he was out of breath, his satchel was barely around his side. Celosia fshed her phone at Sota, before turning it off so as to not hurt his eyes.
"W-W-What are you doing here? I thought I told you to stay out of the forest!?" Sota shouted in a panic.
"I couldn't leave you here with that thing in the forest, it could kill you!" Celosia defended her decision.
"That's just it, that's what I saw!" Sota breathed heavily.
The two soon heard something coming from the trees that Sota burst through from, the two turned, with Celosia gasping as she and Sota saw a figure emerge from the trees.
It... Wasn't a bear.
It was a sea green monster that crawled past a couple of the trees, exposing itself to Celosia and Sota. It had multiple small orange eyes on two rge growths to it's left and right side of it's small body, all of which were staring at the two as they looked on in disgust.
The monster's mouth however, was bigger then the growth's containing it's eyes. Celosia and Sota could see multiple rows of jagged, sharp teeth within the monster's jaws, looking sharp enough to slice into someone's head and ripped it open.
In fact, the two would smell the stench of decay in the monster's unwashed mouth, as well as see bits of dried flesh and muscle hanging by some of the teeth, which went around the Monster's mouth, looking like a sharp vortex that would leave whoever goes into it nothing but an unrecongisable puddle of flesh.
The rest of it's body was green, but it's arms were long enough to able to reach out and grab anyone in front of it, it's legs, were also long, and it had two long antena's that looked like it was made out of flesh hanging out the back of it's head, which moved upwards upon seeing Celosia and Sota.
The former noticed how it resembled, some twisted version of a martian, like the one from the hairclip that she was wearing.
Without any hesitation, the monster leapt forward to try and rip it's two intended victims into pieces like it did to the previous three that it encountered.
